  • I had the exact opposite experience. Since getting my food scale I've discovered that I've been underestimating the amount of food I can have. I'm now eating larger portion of cereal, with more milk and much bigger servings of cheese than I had expected. Its kinda awesome :)
  • I'd pick weight lifting over cardio any day of the week. The only cardio I enjoy is the kind that involves a lot of physical contact (combat sports and sex lol)
  • I was being hounded by about 6 different "coaches" who were all trying to push their product - so I agreed to try a free sample just to shut them up. I tried the chocolate - it was like drinking sand. The texture was so gritty and the flavor was nothing special. Some people swear by the stuff but I am not gonna spend my…
  • I would kill to live a block from the gym. But if you really can't bring yourself to go, then you can still train at home. You don't even need equipment, there are plenty of body weight and cardio routines that can be done in one's living room without weights or machines. Good Luck (and please take advantage of the…
  • Well I'm not tall but I am naturally very muscular and my goal-weight is 150 :) Add me
  • Try a 6 inch only flat bread. Load up on the veggies. I usually get a double turkey with no cheese, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, pineapple and jalapenos. I get black pepper and lots of mustard. Its still really high in sodium, so don't have one every day, but it is delicious and satiating.
  • Paleo and gluten-free seem to being getting out of hand. Fructose-free is just plain stupid - seriously, you're NEVER going to eat fruit again?
  • Since about mid-January I've lost 14lbs (down from 210 to 196) And I have 46lbs to go :)
  • I always ask for salsa with my baked potato, its excellent and definitely lower calorie than the traditional toppings. I hate it when the cook puts a ton of butter on things without warning you so I always try to ask them to hold the butter and oils so that I can control what goes on it.
  • Sex, bacon and time away from the kids.
  • No milk, I like milk too much to waste it by mixing it into my eggs. At least one yolk, always. If I'm trying to boost protein - while staying within my calorie budget - I'll add some egg whites as well but mostly I just go with two whole eggs every morning.
  • I used to go with scrambled or poached but lately I've been liking over-easy. I also enjoy making baked egg muffins with various flavor combos.
  • I noticed visible changes in the first 10lbs. My back-fat firmed up, my arms gained definition right away, my butt got rounder and more perky and my face looks less puffy. My posture also improved, which made me look taller and slimmer.
  • How long exactly until you need to wear this dress? (a couple weeks is a bit vague) Losing over 10lbs in less than a month is likely to be unhealthy and dangerous.
  • I'll use gum to keep myself from eating - particularly if I'm at someone else's house and they have lots of snacks everywhere. At my own house I can find something healthy or find something else to do (like pinterest lol) but in another person's home I am usually stuck in the midst of all of the food - and having it…
  • BLT's while baking and decorating cupcakes are even worse lol
  • Don't forget to update your weight-loss into MFP so it can recalculate your calorie needs.
  • Its only been 24hrs. Its possible that she is at work or otherwise engaged and unable to respond. I wouldn't jump to harsh conclusions just yet..
  • If you are able to teach your son how to eat well and make good choices you won't have to worry about him binging when he visits his dad. And if your son's father is a reasonable man who cares about his child's well-being he will cooperate and try to find different ways to bond with him. Suggest they join a boxing gym…
  • How long have you been at it, how much do you have to lose and how accurate is your logging?
  • I've got a 4 yr old and a 2yr old - trying to lose 25lbs by July (well technically 21lbs now :) )
  • No. Its not okay. Look, if you accidentally eat under 1200 calories once in a while (no more than once a week) it would likely be just fine. But consistently eating less than your body requires to function is going to cause you harm.
  • Lol blame it on my dad and his Polishness - having thin legs is a genetic impossibility for me (unless I feel like starving to death which I most assuredly do not)
  • Thanks, I am enjoying the small victories. Even though my progress on the scale hasn't been huge I am still feeling really positive. I am confident that I can make good choices and continue to do so for the rest of my life.
  • Lol my thighs are huge and muscular, my calves as well - and they are easily my favorite body part. I always find it slightly disturbing when I see a woman whose calves are the same diameter as my wrists.
  • On guys: Beards, tattoos and chest hair - must have chest hair. If that comes with broad shoulders and strong forearms I won't complain. On girls: Eyes, lips and everything else.
  • ~Don't try to starve yourself - eat at a modest deficit and you will be more successful long-term. ~Be honest when you are logging: buy a food scale, weigh and measure everything for accurate logging. ~Keep track of all the 'innocent' little tastes because they add up - liquids have calories too so don't forget them.…
  • I don't really drink at all since having kids - maybe twice a year at most - but when I was younger I always found that alcohol completely killed my appetite so I actually lost a lot of weight that way. Between barely eating and dancing 3+ hours per night, 4 nights a week I ended up dropping 15lbs in 2 months. And that's…
  • I definitely know the feeling. I find the biggest challenge for me is avoiding all the little BLT's (bites, licks & tastes). Making a PB sandwich for the kids - lick the extra PB off the knife. Giving little one a juicebox - take a sip so it doesn't squirt everywhere when they squeeze it. They don't want to finish their…
  • Make little healthy treats that are super delicious. I like using dark cocoa powder, honey, nut butter, ground flax and rolled oats. Melt it all together and form into balls. Then you have delicious, high fiber energy bites with a shot of healthy fats and protein. Hell, you can even dip them in melted caramel or chocolate…
