Got my food scale yesterday!! And guess what? I get to have way more cheese than I thought! I used to cut 2 thin slices of cheese and thought that was approximately one 30 gram serving, but I just weighed out 30 grams and it was 4.5 slices! I'm doing a happy dance right now

I have self-prescribed it for my own mental health lol

I have a vibrating machine that always gets me sweaty and out of breath lol  But no, I don't think those machines are worth the time unless you have medical reasons to use them.

You'll have to get serious about weight training. But at 5'5 and 118 I suspect you are already on the low-end of your healthy weight range, so if you do tone up and add a little muscle you should expect to gain a few lbs. Don't let that scare you, its all compact and looks way better than soft tissue.

Yes. He brings home pizza, chips, ice cream, etc when he knows that I'm working very hard to avoid those types of food. He will try to talk me out of doing a workout so that he can spend more time with me. He tells me that my workouts are just gonna make me look bigger. To be fair, he has been much better this time around…

Well, one thing about eating healthy is you'll often find yourself eating the same foods on a regular basis (which can get boring but is really quite helpful when trying to stay on track) So you can just look up your 'frequently used' foods, check all the boxes that apply and you're done. You may need to make small…

My question is why does she care so much? Is a number on the scale so important that it trumps health? When I weighed 132lbs (15%bf) I was much heavier than people who "appeared" to weigh the same as me. When people guessed my weight they would always assume I was around 110-115lbs and were convinced I was lying about my…

Wow, thats impressive :) my only cooler atm is a huge one we use for camping (a little much for a one-night stay) but I will definitely take some of your suggestions

I want to lose at least 25lbs this year, with a long-term goal of 50 (which will put me at 150lbs)
-
Oh good, its not just me lol
-
Well since you don't actually have much to lose weight-wise, you likely won't see a lot of change on the scale. If you have taken your measurements (neck, chest, waist, hips, arms, legs) then you will be able to track your progress more accurately. 2 weeks isn't enough time to be guaranteed results so don't get too…

Add flax to your diet. Buy it whole and grind what you need each time you use it. It will do more for you than any weight-loss pill.

I am all about the SMALL goals. The big, long term goals are just so overwhelming and they feel like they will never happen - whereas SMALL goals are so much more attainable and motivating. This week's SMALL goal: Don't binge on birthday cake this weekend.

As previously stated, 700-1000 calories is too low and will do more harm than good. Eat a minimum of 1200 *NET* calories. Make sure you are drinking enough water and try to cut back your sodium to a healthy amount to avoid fluid-retention. Focus on lower-body workouts as these muscle groups are the largest in the body and…

I can completely understand how difficult it would be to leave your distraught baby with a relative stranger but it probably IS the best thing for both of you. She needs to learn that mommy always comes back and its ok to be apart for a little while and you definitely need the me time - prioritizing your health is not…

They were mentioned, but apparently nobody bothered to read the whole post lol

I'm sorry but are you implying that a double D cup is SMALL? Lol honey, try a AA
-
Thanks lol actually I'll probably be getting one in the next couple of weeks so it shouldn't be a problem

Lol I'm sure he will be very reassured

Omg don't even get me started! My husband is Sooo paranoid about any kind of online purchasing, he just flatout refuses. Apparently he's known people who got ripped off and he doesn't want to take any risks. I tried telling him about paypal and other things where you can have a lot more security but he hasn't warmed up to…

I will when I can, but I live on a farm and the only communities nearby are 2000 people or less lol (there are no department stores) On my next trip to the city, a food scale will be at the top of my list.

Yes absolutely. Back when I was actually able to go to the gym, I always loved seeing the fit folks do their thing. There was one woman who came in every day who looked like she belonged in a bodybuilding magazine, she was gorgeous and an absolute beast. Very inspiring.

Yeah oil is a tricky one - especially when I am cooking up a big batch of something because it becomes even harder to judge how many calories from oil will actually end up in your food. For example, I sauteed 1lb of ground moose in 1 tbsp of coconut oil and the meat ended up being enough for about 10 servings - so do I…

Well, my youngest child is turning 2 next month so that is a pretty big motivator - the older my kids get, the more they are going to notice whether I've been a healthy role model or not. I am trying to make shorter more reasonable goals this time around - instead of trying to lose 50lbs in 2 months, I am planning to lose…

I absolutely know that feeling. When you lose that spark out of the blue and suddenly you don't remember why you cared so much and you don't know how to regain that passion. I am hoping that I don't hit that point anytime soon - or ever again lol But if it does happen, I could sure use some friends who get it :)
-
That is a good tip, although my local small town grocer doesn't have a meat department - its all prepackaged either in the cooler or the freezer lol But cutting up cheese and other such products into the number of serving sizes per package is something I may have to try.

Well, assuming that I am guessing the exact right serving size/weight/calories for all of my food items (which is highly unlikely) but eating approx 300 calories below that number then I am still averaging over 1200 calories most days. So while I do get hunger pangs from time to time, I only occasionally feel as though…
