  • I am NOT an expert on Keto, but some people who know a lot more than me recommend carb loading (or "carb-ups") especially for women. It has to do with our hormones I think. I am not talking about binging, but eating some healthy carbs (like maybe a sweet potato.) If you want more information, you might check out the…

  • GAAAH! Curse that !#%? "Done" button in the upper right hand corner of my app...I just typed a nice reply and hit "done," which instead of posting, takes me away from this page! GRRRRRR! :# To summarize what I wrote: Thank you. I agree, numbers that end in "0" or "5" seem to be benchmarks in my head too. 130 was my…

This way of eating is REALLY working for me! I started eating LCHF/Keto Sept. 6, 2017 in an effort to curb my carb cravings & shed some excess lbs. and it seems to be working!
  • Did you mean .6 grams protein (not carbs) per lb of lean body mass??
  • That sounds like intermittent fasting to me! There is no rule in IF when to eat and when to fast. If you naturally fast at day and eat at night, why not go with that? Just keep the eating part healthy! :)
  • Here are some things I have learned that really help me to persevere: --Get angry. Get feisty! Give yourself pep talks and get determined! Seriously, like others have said above me, you gotta' dig deep and be committed to change. When I do this I lose. When I get comfortable and complacent, I gain. --Repeat this to…

  • Thanks to everyone who has replied So far. I really appreciate the feedback!
  • This seems a very sensible approach, and what I aspire to be able to achieve. I would like to have the occasional apple or potato without feeling bad, or sabotaging all my hard work. :) :) :)
  • Thanks. I am still just a little 6 week old baby with this Keto approach, and I am being pretty strict with myself...mostly out of fear of triggering those old carb cravings. I have this vision of myself eating a sweet potato, and then waking up twelve hours later in a sugar-drunk haze, surrounded by Little Debbie wrappers…
  • Wow! Hat's off to you. I am pleased that this works well for some folks. I definitely do not have a "one-size-fits-all" philosophy when it comes to the best way to eat and I believe that what works well for one person, may not be a good fit for the next. Thank you for your input, and it is nice to know that some folk do…
  • I've had a few dreams of this sort...but without any of the satisfaction and LOTS of guilt. Usually I am eating some sort of carb filled junk food in my dream, and then suddenly I think, "Wait! I'm not supposed to be eating this! Noooooooo!!!!" :# :# :#
  • Maybe try playing with your macros. I know some people swear by "calories in calories out," but I find that I can stall with that approach. However, for me, cutting carbs seems to work. Every body is different, and I don't believe in one-size-fits-all diet plans. I will say that I am losing faster doing Keto, than anything…
  • I was able to fit into my "skinny" jeans today! :) Height 5'5" HW: 153 SW: 139 GW: 130 9/9: 139 9/17: 138 9/25: 136.4 10/4: 136 10/9: 134 I started eating LCHF/Keto Sept. 6, 2017 in an effort to curb my carb cravings & shed some excess lbs.
  • I know how frustrating this is. I have been in your shoes before. When I am not seeing progress, I have a mantra "Trust the plan," that I say to myself over and over. If you are eating healthy and exercising, your body is bound to respond eventually! Even if the scale is not currently cooperating, you are doing good things…
  • Late check in this week! I was traveling all last week to attend my son's wedding. I am so pleased that I managed to stay on-plan and did not bring back an extra 5 lbs! • Thanks for all the suggestions. I am sitting in the airport to fly home right now, and I am happy to report I was able to stay on-plan almost 100%! I had a sip of my hubby's beer (just 1) a few times, and I had a glass of red wine at the wedding. Other than that, I was SO busy, that I often skipped eating with no problems.…
  • Agreed. Sadly, I do not travel often, nor do I "party" regularly. My concern is that I might release my inner sugar dragon, and struggle to get it back under control. Blowing raspberries your way! :p :p :p
  • A hearty THANK YOU to all who replied so far. To answer one question: I am flying, so carrying a cooler is not in the plan. I think tomorrow, I will take string cheese, pepperoni, nuts and a cut up avocado to avoid airport temptations. As for libations, I will go for a little liquor with plain soda water and a twist…
  • This is exactly why I am a firm believer in weighing daily and watching the trends, rather than weighing only once a week. If I weighed last week on a "low" day, and this week on a "high" day, I would be SO discouraged by what appears as no progress, or possibly even a gain. But if I weigh daily, then I can get comfortable…
  • Wow! 2.6 lbs? You really kicked this off with a bang! :) :) :)
