Yay, another kid-free by choice person on here! :flowerforyou:
-
I have quite a few friends that are happy and single (and also homeowners). :) I'm married and no kids so I understand what it's like to live out of societal norms (together nearly 19 years, kid-free by choice).
-
Nice. I too work in malpractice insurance.
-
Time to find a new doctor. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/244664-why-1-200-calories-per-day

Right now I'm drinking orange seltzer instead of orange soda. It's the little things... I also can't have fake sugar and use things like maple syrup and raw honey instead of sugar.
-
Amen. Local organic grass fed cream = full of win. A little goes a long way.

I was a size 4 in college but was too thin to even donate blood (110 lbs). That was wayyyy too thin (I was very healthy though!) Now I'm battling hard to get back to an 8 and stay there (I always seem to gain during work travel). I don't even think size 0 is a normal size or a normal measurement if me at a size 4 was too…

1160 = organs and bones crying out in pain.
-
1160 is too low unless you are a 4' tall woman (if you're short that's totally cool but for me (healthy, 5'6") I can't go that low.
-
Yep. Not fueling the machine and the body is not letting go of any extra. I could not fuel my healthy body with "or slightly less"
-
SHE'S WORKING OUT 3.5 HOURS PER DAY AND NOT EATING THEM BACK. SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS BUT I HAVE TO YELL BECAUSE YOU FOLKS KEEP SUPPORTING THE OP OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND NOT LISTENING.
-
Depends what your net calories were. For me, my net calories would only be 760 after an hour long fitness class. If your net was 1400-1600 of course you were going to be able to lose weight and keep it off.
-
Can you explain to me how I would survive and stay healthy on just 760 calories per day? This is what I'd have for fuel after a workout if I did not eat back my exercise calories. I do eat "non stop" (every few hours). Just please think what you are saying for a moment. You are suggesting that I (along with everyone else…

And, I quote: " I don't think it's how much you put in your body, but WHAT you put in your body" That's going against science and all that is good and holy in the world. I will say it AGAIN. You are saying that if I ate over my maintenance calories (1600 per day with 0 workout) that I would not gain weight if all of my…
-
There's no such thing as a plateau. You figured what you NEED to do to maintain your current weight (exercise, eating etc.) So you just need to figure out what to do to get back into a .5/week loss and go from there.
-
Just so this does not get lost. ^^^
-
This program takes the thinking out of the equation, OP.
-
If you thought about what you were saying, OP for one single moment you would realize that body weight training is FREE.
-
Agreed. If they want to make their own program and not follow the MFP structure they should go elsewhere. If this idea of eating under 1200 a day was really a solution for long term weight loss and keeping it off than why is 1200 the minimum?
-
Yeah, it's all what you have to lose. I only have this much to lose left:
-
and so, I post what I posted wayyyyyy back in 2011. The year I lost 20 lbs. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/244664-why-1-200-calories-per-day
-
Thank you. :) :)
-
Are you being serious right now? Here's mine: 1,200 (to lose 1 lb per week) or 1,400 to lose .5/week So with the 1,200 let's say I go to kickboxing and burn 500 calories. That would mean I'd be going to bed with only 700 calories eaten. Can you explain to me (a super healthy and a healthy weight person) how this is even a…
-
See my example. If I did not eat mine back I'd be fueling my body with 760 calories per day? How on earth is that even remotely a good idea?
-
So you are NOT of the calorie is a calorie is a calorie mindset? So if I ate 2,000 calories per day of things like rice, beans, fruit, veggies you are saying I would not gain weight. Ok, in what universe is this true? You are stating that when I need to eat no more than 1600/day (that's my maintenance cals, without…
-
Here's my personal example: If I did not eat back my exercise calories on a day I workout (not just something light like a walk) I would be trying to fuel my extremely healthy (and not overweight) body with...wait for it...760 calories per day. What say you diet expert nutrition counselor trainer diet expert person???
-
You can exercise your arms or ride a stationary bike, no?
-
Ok. I clicked on your profile. Weight loss gets harder in 30s-40s so you're in that category. Second you have AMAZING FARMER'S MARKETS and local food in Seattle (I envy you). Lastly, check out the recipes on www.dailygarnish.com (she's from Seattle). She also takes barre method classes which I highly suggest. Spice up that…

I'm on two such meds and have been for 11 years. For me though honestly it's an age thing. It's harder in your 30s to maintain or to lose (it's a hormone thing). I also travel a lot for work (eating out 3x/day). I think all of those factors play a lot more into my plan. In 2011 I lost 20 lbs and did not keep it off. So a…
