  • You're actually not losing weight because you're not eating enough. This is what happens, let's say you eat 1500, which is what the body uses to operate your body, seems like a lot at first but then you work out and burned 500 of that, if you don't replace those calories, your body thinks, whoa, what's going on here and…
  • It does seem like alot at first when you start eating a little more but you're burning so much which is why it's important that you eat more. It doesn't mean you eat bad to fill in the gap, just means you can increase your portions more, eat more veggies and fruits, whole grains, good fats, proteins and you'll see it climb…
  • That is a great idea! Will use that too.
  • You're very close to eating all your calories which is actually good. Don't go over unless you workout. Let's say you burned 250 calories, you actually have to eat those back. That's what I've learned while being here. Also, I know it wasn't really your fault for dinner but those types of food will make it very difficult…
  • I just learned it's very normal myself as I had a similar experience. It's because we retain water and blow up like balloons, at least that's how I felt. But it goes away and you'll go back to normal.
  • That's sad :(
  • lol, I did almost the same thing. I didn't have a huge desire to start doing right, but I knew I had to do something, so that's when I looked for an app that I could use to log everything "just to see what would happen". Well, low and behold, I've lost 27 pounds so far and I'm addicted to the app on my phone, tablet, and…
  • I personally don't do cheat days only because I know how I feel after a cheat day. I feel like I cheated on myself and I cheated myself. What I do is just moderate what I eat, watch what I eat, and count everything. If I desire a donut I have to include that donut in my food diary and I adjust what I eat as I go. So…
  • Lol, exactly what you said. I just learned all that the hard way when I started seeing my sugars and sodium numbers up because of all the substitutes I was trying to do, not to mention the empty pockets it was leaving me with. I'm glad I learned this now and not later on.
  • You all have been awesome! Thank you so much. I was so worried about finding fat free, low fat stuff and the least possible calories but then I'm always hungry, and the sodium in all those substitutes are insane because they have to replace the taste. I'm learning so much on MFP, especially with people like you all. Thanks…
  • Former vegetarians, I'm just curious, what made you go back to eating meat?
  • I LOOOVVVEEE New Balance sneakers. I won't buy any other kind anymore because they're so comfortable.
  • I really love your response because for many people the battle of food goes beyond over eating. I'm not knocking anyone who can indulge on a cheat day, I just know I can't for my own sake and some other people are the same. But that doesn't mean you can't still have fun with your family and friends. Def eat what you know…
  • I can't agree that it's just one day and you should just go crazy. I really think it all depends on the person. Some people may be able to just let loose and eat all they want and jump back on the wagon the next day with no problems, then there's some people that may feel an overwhelming sense of disgust towards themselves…
  • Try giving your mom some ideas as to what you would love for her to suprise you with. A fruit bow, a nice salad, etc. Hopefully she gets the point.
  • Sounds so yummy everyone. You're all giving me some great choices. :flowerforyou:
  • Oh boy, what a girl to do when she doesn't like veggies. I like baby carrots though, 1 point for me :). Thank you for the ideas.
  • It's funny you say that because I've decided not to mention my weight loss endeavor to many people because I want them to notice themselves. I'm looking forward to being asked if I lost weight soon enough without me prompting a "look at me". I know for me that may take a little longer 'cause I'm much heavier but looking…
  • Thank you! Maybe that'll motivate me to run, lol.

  • What's the actual name of that game?

  • Hi. I was told not to be too dependant of the scale because as we loose and excersice we may gain muscle which are denser than fat. So one big thing you can do if you don't already is start measuring yourself. Measure your waist, hips, thighs, arms, and neck.. As you "shrink" the fat you may see the change in measurements…
  • They should add a like button here so I can click "like" on posts like yours :)
  • Lol, I'm def a big girl and would love to have others similar to me as friends so we can encourage each other. It's a long road but I can't wait to see that finish line. Every pound I lose I feel great. So ladies, you're more than welcomed to add me.
  • @Seximuffintop: How in the world do you burn 2500 calories a day?! If I did that I would drop weight like flies.
  • Hi Buffalogirl. In order for this program to work, you have to be absolutely honest with your log ins and that just means being very accurate. You have to count not just the foods (which I do seperately and I try using the scanner anytime there's a barcode on a food), but you have to include counting your sugar, butter,…
  • Can you explain what you mean by calorie deficit? Is that the same as just counting your calories?
  • It has to be that as you loose weight your chest is lifted making them seem bigger and fuller. That's my assumption.
  • I've been using MFP for about a month now and it's helped me track everything so far. I had to get used to documenting everything but if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to see what I'm eating wrong, eating too much off, or if I'm eating too little. If we can't hold ourselves accountable no one will. I look at it like this,…
  • These pics really are great motivation. I hope to join in when I get down to my goals.
