Have you tried saying "No"? No, I won't wash the dishes after working a 60 hour week...No, I won't clean the bathrooms, fold the laundry, vacuum, etc. From what I've read it sounds like y'all need to sit down and talk about your expectations of each other.

I'm the same- when I'm depressed, my appetite suffers. Same with my two sisters (our Dad passed 2 weeks ago and we've all had a loss of appetite). Just eat what you can, like a banana or an apple. Don't force it, but just know that you need to eat something. Hope things get better for you.

You don't. You suck it up for the time being. As your kid gets older, it'll be easier for her to get more chores done throughout the day. I've done the 60 hour work weeks, and I've done the stay at home mom thing (still currently). The 60 hour work week was less mentally exhausting...

3 mile run on the treadmill at 5.8mph pace, and then 15 minutes walking at 3.8mph pace on the treadmill at 5.0grade.

I forgot to mention that there are substitutes for butter like Earth Balance "buttery spread". Be careful with items that say "non-dairy" as they could still contain ingredients like casein from milk. It's actually the norm to become lactose intolerant as we age, and there is absolutely nothing in milk that we can't get…

30 minutes on the treadmill at a 6.2mph pace. Wish I could've gone longer.

There are many replacements for dairy products like almond milk, oat milk, hemp milk, coconut milk, etc. Some stores also sell nut milk yogurts which are pretty tasty, as well as coconut milk ice cream, and so on. I personally find non-dairy cheeses taste stale and tend to stay away from them, but you could always try a…

We bought a large composter from Lowe's for around $30, which we keep in our backyard. Any plant food scraps are put in the composter to be used later for a vegetable garden. Not much else gets wasted.

2 bananas for breakfast, because they are delicious nom nom nom

Animal products are going to be higher in fats (even the lean kind) than plants. If you're concerned about your fat intake but don't want to give up animal products, then add in more fruits and veggies, which will up your overall carb % and lower fat %.

I don't think that's too small, and that's actually my GW (and also how much I weighed when I got married, and I was a size 2/3 in jeans). It's also within the healthy weight range for our height.

I'm 5' 4" SW: 178.5, size 12 jeans CW: 129, size 4 jeans GW: 115-120 I was 105 at my lowest when I was a teenager, and looking at the pictures from back then I was waaaaaaay too skinny. It was actually pretty creepy.

Sent you a friend request VegRuthie :)

Many (if not most) choose to be vegan for more than just health reasons (environmental, ethical, etc.) I can tell you that I'm a lot better off eating vegan than I was chowing down ground beef, deli meats, hot dogs, and Kraft single slices.

The people you are describing are probably the same people who would go out and hassle wait staff no matter what diet/trend/lifestyle they're following.

But why do you care? Really, why does it bother you so much that some people chose to not eat breads, pastas, etc.? It's not as if those items are really all that necessary. And if they chose to buy, say, a GL loaf of bread, it's not really all that different than another person choosing Ms. Baird's over Hill County Fair…

What happens at 500 posts? Is the thread locked or something? I have enjoyed reading through all the comments, watching everyone call everyone else stupid per usual. I have three friends/family members who eat GF, and so far I haven't seen any of them cause problems at restaurants. They tend to stick to what I'm going to…

That's what happened to me yesterday, but I still ate what I usually eat. I find that I'm not as hungry on days that I run, but am ravenous the next day. When I look at the "nutrition" section for the week, I can see a pattern of how having a low appetite day tends to be followed by several higher appetite days, then it…

I used to be vegan (got tired of being harassed by my family), turned vegetarian recently, but watched Earthlings earlier....so yeah, I became vegan again about 10 minutes into the film. I'm always up for new friends!

Hola, I'm vegetarian going vegan. I'm always up for new friends :)
-
I'm trying to get back into the Vegan lifestyle (quit the first time because my family wouldn't stop harassing me about it). I'd love to have some vegan friends to get inspiration from if you want to add me :)

I did day 2 yesterday and I really love it. I've always had a strong lower body, so while I wouldn't say that the exercises are "easy", they are manageable. I have really terrible upper body strength, so I've started out with 2.5 lb weights.
