i wear my fitbit on my sock and try to walk in place as much as i can. 15 minutes in the morning at home, while i'm eating my oatmeal, or afterwards while i am crocheting. we have no stairs at the office nor can i go to a further bathroom but i do have a 30 minute lunch break, and i walk in place at least 20 minutes of…

way to go!!! awesome job!!!

Doesn't sound like a very good jump start to me if you were just about right back where you started from. Sounds more like 2 wasted weeks

i have had my Fitbit One for a couple years now and LOVE it!

a few Montrealers here....I'm another one! To be more precise, just off the island to the west. I have an open diary

i have been going to my gym for 4 weeks now. i have some fat to lose also but i just go in there and do my program (SL 5x5). there are sometimes a couple of girls in there and they usually use the free weights and cable machines. i am the only one (girl or guy) using the squat rack most of the time, which is perfect cuz i…

i agree - keep it simple. what foods do you like to eat? i just happen to like to eat the same breakfast, lunch and snacks every day of the week however my suppers are always different; this just works for me. on the weekends i change things up a bit. my diary is open if you'd like to take a look. i make sure to do my best…

hey there :o) if 60% is coming from carbs, then the remaining 40% is coming from protein and fat, which i personally don't think is enough. check out the IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) calculator - plug in your numbers and it will give you the macro breakdown that is more suitable http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

i would say definitely up your calories. i know everyone is different but i am a woman, 43, 5'3", 179 lbs and i have been losing on 1650-1750 cals per day. i would think someone at 398 lbs could certainly lose on alot more calories. why not try 2200 for a few weeks and see how that works for you. and even 2200 may not be…

i wear shorts under dresses and skirts also. otherwise i would put some deodorant

outstanding!! you look incredible!!

every morning weigher here
-
yup yup yup!!
-
exactly - which is why i suggested to just go by TDEE and pick a calorie goal and stick to it for a few weeks to see what happens
-
1650-1750 is just what i have chosen for myself and it is working....slowly but working. i'm not in a race anyway. since we are pretty much the same height and weight i just suggested you try something similar. after sticking to the same calorie goal for 4 weeks or so you can decide if you want to adjust
-
why not just pick a number - say 1650-1750 cals and try that for a few weeks to see what happens. these TDEE calculators are really just a starting point i am 43, 5'3" and 179 lbs. i have lost 6 lbs in the past 5 months going by 1650-1750 cals per day (sometimes even more on weekends) and i have only just started working…
-
oh my, i will have to find some
-
occasionally i have ice cream for supper :drinker:

you've lost 47 lbs so you are doing awesome!! keep going!! *kick*

thanks for the responses. she is a big girl. i'm 5.3" and she's easily 5.6" and her weight is very close to mine. i'm 179 lbs and i figure she's about the same.

depends if you're going by MFP or TDEE method. I go by TDEE and eat the same calories each day, whether i work out or not.
-
thanks for all the welcomes! I'm looking forward to getting stronger

my body works in chunks. i'll hit a low low number on the scale and then my weight will go up and down for a week or 2 and then i'll hit another low low. that's just how my body works, not much i can do about it. just keep going

is ice cream included in the 21 day fix? how about chocolate? i eat both every. single. day. and i am down 6 lbs since about mid-April. not a fast loss by any means, but a loss just the same. slow and steady wins the race. counting calories, getting your macros in and lifting some heavy weights works!
