  • Of course it's realistic. But you have to be realistic too. It will take some time. You don't need to stop eating, just eat less and improve your eating. Baby steps! You should probably also get the advice of a doctor if you can. You can do this!
  • LOL I always run around singing that when I drop a pant size.
  • Have you been working out before? If you haven't tried any Jillian Michael's videos, I'd recommend the 30 day shred, and then move on to ripped in 30, banish fat boost metabolism, and no more trouble zones. Good luck!
  • 30 day shred is good to start. ripped in 30 is great for something more challenging. No More Trouble Zones is a nice longer workout to alternate with the others.
  • Originally I had thought I would be able to workout everyday but with 4 kids to manage I wind up choosing between working out or sleep. I'm going to aim for at least 3 days a week working out. Alh so far I've been keeping within my calorie allotment so that's good.
  • I would start with 30 day shred. Level 1 is good for beginners, challenging but with modifications. I have No More Trouble Zones and Ripped in 30 but I think 30 day shred is the best way to start getting in to Jillian Michaels without getting overwhelmed... after 30 day shred I was motivated and ready for the harder stuff.
  • Ew. It sounds like his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe a different doctor in the same practice will be more helpful. Obviously if you're here you're trying to lose weight, hopefully it will help you! I wish I had more info to give you.
  • Just to be clear, I've never heard of fertilaid. It just seems to me like your doctor is not helping you as much as he should. I hope I'm not being unhelpful :)
  • Your doc can't get your period to start? Did he try provera? Can you change docs? I wouldn't be comfortable with someone who wasn't willing to exhaust all options or refer me to someone who could. Your doc is supposed to be part of your fertility team :(
  • Out of options means what? You've already done clomid, etc?
  • Be careful though, some cupcakes have loads of calories :)
  • Yes, I've been thinking about the same things. I will check out the articles as well.
  • Also, yoga! I always feel goofy when the guy on the yoga videos in hulu tells me to feel my stress falling away like leaves but I feel really relaxed by the end.
  • Yikes, that's a hard one for me too. I try to talk myself down from stress eating, remind myself why I'm doing this and what the goal is, and what I've achieved so far. I also try to swap out the junk for healthy stuff (like carrots with a 100 cal pack of guacamole), or portion control the junk.
  • I lost some weight, saw a big difference in definition. I'm still a fatty but it definitely made a difference and helped me feel motivated. That's why I bought another video by her :)
  • It's really good. It's a great workout and it makes me feel strong. The workouts are only 20 minutes, so that's nice too. I love it and recommend it to everyone. I'm currently doing her ripped in 30 dvd... that's very good as well!
  • Well, like some others are saying, if you stay committed and make it to the maintenance phase, and that's a livable lifestyle for you, then you will succeed. If you look at a maintenance mealplan and it doesn't seem sustainable to you, then you can certainly change your mind. I've done Atkins a few times but it's not…
  • Interesting how she mentioned her boyfriend. Maybe she's miffed that he noticed you? Don't worry about it, if you're attracting spiteful attention then somebody's just jealous.
  • http://www.momsintofitness.com she has some videos and things
  • She kinda reminds me of agent 99 from the old Get Smart
  • Well, you always have to be careful and double check, which is fairly easy to do using the internet. It's still a good guide to see how many calories you take in once you verify the accuracy of the items.... sometimes we eat a lot more when we don't have a clear record.
  • You can lose weight eating the things you like, but you'll have to eat a lot less of it, and that will make you hungry and discouraged. You have to make a commitment to eating better. Try to replace your old faves with something similar but healthier. Try to figure out what attracts you about certain food, like do you like…
  • Uhhhhh... I think I've finalized my list but every few posts I see items that I need to add... let's just say I've finished a lot of things. :)
  • Hmm, I don't know how much regimented exercise you can do with a toddler. I have two; they get distracted pretty easily. They do like to watch while I work out though.
  • Hey, I'm 4'11'' also. I started MFP at 146 and want to get down to 120. MFP won't let me go below 1200 but I find I'm losing weight faster than the projection it gave and way faster then I was when I used a different app that had me at ~1000 cals a day for 2 lbs a week. Sometimes your body needs to eat more in order to…
  • This is just me, but I wouldn't compensate the next day by eating less because it would probably leave me feeling frustrated and tired from undercutting right after a binge. And then I'd be tempted to binge again. I'd just shake off the bad day and get back to normal.
  • YES! I am 4'11'' and I had put into another app that I wanted to lose 1.5 pounds a week, so it had me eating 1100-1000 calories a day. I would keep messing up because that amount of calories is disheartening, and I wouldn't have enough energy to feel really motivated to exercise. MFP doesn't want me to go below 1200, and I…
  • Both sodium and TOM can cause you to retain water and weigh a little more. Some people are sensitive to too much sodium as well.
  • It's hard to say without seeing your stats. Based on your height and goal you might be eating to few calories. Or your sodium intake might be too high. Or it could be TOM.
