A lot of what we do is developing habits. I was so out of shape when i started i began very small. 5 min of walking a day. each month i have added 5 min. I am now up to30 min of walking most days a week. It is a habit that is now part of my life. I do calorie count also which again is a habit i have made a part of my life.…

I use an electronic scale that is fairly accurate. I weigh weekly, naked, same day and at the same time if possible. Try to focus on other things besides the scale, like 23# off, great job!!! lots of changes for the better! I use to weigh daily but it messed with my head ya know?

I am doing well with what my doctor and i have chosen for a calorie and macro count. Whose business is it how much or little i eat? Just trying to be healthy and non judgmental about everyone else's choices too. I sure don't understand why people need to be so quick to put others down, maybe there are legitimate reasons…

It always makes me chuckle when people make blanket statements like" low carb is a myth" what?! Please! I eat 40-60 net carbs under MD guidance my A1c is now in a normal range and i feel better than i have in a long time. We are all different and need to eat to what our own bodies tell us and with MD and nutritionist…

One of the things I realized is that certain fruits are better for me than others and have good fiber in them too. The low glycemic fruits such as berries, apples are what I try to eat since I have to eat a low carb diet for my health. Fiber makes the difference with fruits as opposed to simple carbs such as cookies, etc.…

I can totally relate to this too. I can't keep trigger foods in the house but sometimes any food is a trigger. I started seeing a therapist to find out why I use food in place of dealing with my feelings. It has actually helped me figure out healthier ways to take care of myself in these circumstances. Something to think…

Definitely haven't given up cream in my coffee, real cheese, won't eat that cardboard tasting stuff and bacon, love my bacon!! Just have to make different choices some days, that's all.

If counting my calories and paying attention to what i eat, trying to exercise and being healthier is a disorder well, i confess, i have it and am proud of it! Too bad I have other health issues due to my out of control eating that brought me here. Wonder what they say about that?

I agree with everyone about the lower carb meals, also don't be afraid of fats because they do help you feel satisfied with your food choices. The refined carbs are what causes the blood sugar problems for a lot of people and are not that satisfying for very long. Also, try to never feel like you are starving because it is…

One cup fage 0% plain yogurt with stevia and cinnamon, fresh strawberries, coffee and cream. keeps me going all morning long, 23 gm protein. my favorite breakfast.

The morningstar garden veggie burgers have fiber and protein in them along with some carbs. They are very good for a meatless alternative.

We all are different and respond to different food choices. There is no one right way! it takes time to figure out what works for you and it changes as you lose weight. Hang in there, we all on our own journey and can lend support and advice but it is your body and part of the trick is to figure out what works for you.

what do you do once you have lost all the weight? do they gradually introduce real food and help you with this? that would worry me i guess but good luck and everybody is different so if it works great!

I have found that if I eat more protein and a bit more fat it helps with the sugar cravings. they don't go away overnight but are definitely reduced. Only you know .what the right balance is for your body. For myself, any large amount of sugar seems to trigger a binge which lasts way too long for my liking so i avoid it at…

if you eat what your body needs to maintain ie the BMR don't you need to reduce that to lose weight? I don't want to maintain, but lose. I am confused.

Please read the research about weight loss surgery and how it changes the hormone balances in a person's body quickly before making blanket statements that many commenting on this site know nothing about. There is excellent scientific research related to this surgery and how it can help seriously obese people. It is always…

I am working with a doctor who says always choose low carb before low fat, i don't even count my fat just protein and carbs. It will sort itself out. Plus, you feel full quicker and don't eat as much, at least that's the theory!
