I tried something the other day... I like cottage cheese (if you don't then you're missing out on cheap protein). Regardless, I mixed half chobani with half cottage cheese to get the cottage cheese taste and the tanginess of yogurt without the weird sour/chalky/whatever feeling/taste that people describe when they eat it.

6.17 miles today :D

Nobody ever says lentils! They're so underrated. So much protien, lots of iron... you can swap it for meat in meat dishes like sloppy joes and tacos (love lentil tacos) plus lentils are SO DARN CHEAP!
-
Their salads are probably covered in cheese and crunchy fried things = not at all healthy. If you get like a piece of grill chicken or a small grilled steak and sub. steamed veggies for a baked potato or rice (or whatever they serve things with.) And I'm sure if you don't see something on the menu you can ask them to just…

3 miles done.

the Spice Girls. :D

I completely agree with you. Being "obese" sounds scary and embarassing. If you've ever played wii Fit they play tuba music when you're obese. No more tubas!!

Bigger thighs and butt = bigger hips and pelvis = more room for baby. Fact of life.

Birds and flowers are much prettier to look at than House. Though he is very pretty himself. (This coming from a woman.)

When my brother and I were home alone we would take brownie or cake mix and make the mix but we wouldn't bake it. We would just eat the raw mix out of the bowl. So wasteful because after a few spoonfuls we'd get sick! Yuck. We thought it was so good though.

Lol, yeah... those little guys get expensive. I hope you sold them off! I only tried my first one today, but I will surely go back and buy more.

I've never tracked my miles before. 100 miles sounds like so much! But I need more motivation. I like the idea that March has 31 days... but maybe I'll shoot for 2 miles/day. I walk a lot, but I won't count walking to and from class. So 62 miles for me!

I like it because it's thick and almost cheesy. I can see how some wouldn't like it though. People are used to thin yogurt.
-
I say yes because fruits have lots of calories (more than veggies) and it's all about calories in calories out. And some veggies (like potatoes) can eat up your calories so you need to watch out.

Just read about this magical dessert. Chocolate mousse (wait for it) with no cream. Say what?! Yes. Instead of cream you add water to 70% chocolate... melt together, then whipwhipwhip. I've never tried it myself, but it looked so darn good and had minimal calories.

escargot mushrooms, beef shoulder, and tarte tatin My theory behind this (since you don't know calories) is that mushrooms stuffed with escargot is less bad than lardons (chunks of bacon) and frog legs are gross. Beef because all of those sound like they're buttery, cheesy, or consist of something fried so... beef sounds…

Meant to add to that... sodium is an element that is used mainly in brain and muscle funtion. Maybe try searching for circulatory system chemicals if you're interested in the body chemistry of it all.
-
I don't know how sodium is related to blood pressure. I know that sodium is a vital chemical for the body (not just from NaCl, but from all different sources). You say you've mentioned low BP and your lack of sodium intake to your doctor? Maybe you should see another doctor and just get a second opinion. Low BP is serious…

Okay, most of these songs on here I like...(Btw Mika is fantastical enough that anything he does is great even if it's talking about sexy big girls.) Una Paloma Blanca. I just listened to this. I am in love. :P Thank you so much for this wonderful cheese-fest. I need to agree and say that the Ting Tings are probably worse…

I appreciate your book (and lifestyle) pushing. I also agree that the USDA industry is b***s*** and needs an amazing overhaul. But I'm going to poke at one of the things you mentioned in your post. Cancer is random. You can have a genetic predisposition (ie mom and/or dad and/or grandparents had/died of cancer) and not get…

I've tried running barefoot before (on a treadmill), and it was very uncomfortable. Maybe it's because my foot has been "trained" to run in a shoe, but honestly I didn't like it.
-
I've had stretch marks since I was a kid (from gaining a lot of weight very fast, and unfortunatly keeping that weight) so I'm sort of used to them. I've heard cocoa butter helps, but as everyone has said it's like a really bad scar. Maybe you can just think of them as battle scars. You faught hard to be healthy!
-
That's a big difference! I hope you can see the changes.
-
Also agreed. It's common courtesy to say hi when you want to be someone's friend. That's kindergarten, people. But I never ignore friend requests. I just make it a goal to talk to THEM after they friend ME.
-
Mmm.. I love chickpeas AND curry. Will try this, thanks.
-
I have a problem with this (in fact I asked the same question a few weeks ago..)-- I was told popcorn, carrots, and apples are all good. Crunchy and filling. I sometimes eat Emerald cocoa almonds if I want something sweet and filling. Or just a slice of bread.
-
It's about calorie count. When you eat less calories than you used that day-- you lose weight. Soda and chips are bad because they are calories that give you no nutrition and don't fill you up. So you're essentially wasting your calories. They're not bad to eat, but you'd be better without them!

Lots of yummy ideas... but I like to put ripe bananas in my oatmeal. I just make plain oatmeal and mash up a banana (usually half). It's a natural sweetener for bland oatmeal. :) Add some walnuts or almonds for crunch!
-
You might have cooked them for too long-- especially if you cut the recipe in half. If you used too large of a cooking tray, the bars were too thin and dried out causing them to crack and crumble. Just a though.

Actually potassium AND sodium are related to neuron-firing in our brains. Without these chemicals we would not survive.
