Curious... did anyone get stretch marks?
So stretch marks are notoriously associated with pregnant women. I am not pregnant, nor was I ever pregnant. I began to see stretch marks around age 10 on my thighs as I started to gain weight... they then appeared on my arms, hips, and pelvic area. Did anyone get massive or a large amount of stretch marks as they gained…

Should I help my friend lose weight?
Here's the story. My friend is quite over weight. In high school (only about four years ago) she couldn't have weighed more than 120 pounds. After she was put on depression medication she gained about 100 pounds in a year. She has been trying to lose weight since then and has tried exercise, weight watchers, and has…

Deodorant
I chose to post this in Food and Nurtition because deodorant is sort of related.... more so than any other section. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice about deodorants. I'm trying to stop using types with alumminum in them for various reasons. Though with all this exercising I'm having a hard time not going back!…

Flabby Arms and Rowing Machine
I have very flabby arms. It's ridiculous. They're probably the thing I hate MOST about being overweight. I just wish I had pretty arms... Anyways. I was wondering if using a rowing machine would be a good way to burn calories and work my arms. I don't like lifting weights because I feel like I'm wasting my time when I…

Seasonal allergies and working out
I have a cold. Or allergies. Probably allergies (tree pollen). Regardless I've got an itchy throat, a foggy head, and a runny nose. I haven't worked out in a few days because of it. Just wondering what other seasonal allergy sufferers do about working out. I'm not motivated to do anything but sleep!

Skeer
It's mysterious and foreign and so friggen delicious. Skeer is an Icelandic "yogurt" but it's so much better than that. It's even better than (gasp) Greek yogurt. Try it out next time you see it. It's a little expensive and usually goes by the name of Siggos (found at Earth Fare in my town), but I say it's worth a try.

fruit sugars...
Right, so fruit has sugar in it. Everytime I go over my sugar allowance (which has been lowered to keep me aware of it) it is almost always because I have eaten a piece of fruit during the day. We've been told that fruits are good for us, but the sugar in fruit (fructose) is still a sugar. Sugars can cause a whole list of…

Nighttime snacking
Any tips on good snacks to eat between dinner and bedtime? --I don't mean sweets, just something to keep my stomach from growling.

I'm new, sort of...
I'm not new to the program, but I'm new to the site! I started using MFP as a phone app since January. I'm motivated, but it's hard to do it alone. Some days I just don't want to eat what I should (or eat too much of what I shouldn't...) So I thought I'd hop on here and see what kind of community we have here. Good luck to…
