  • For the most part everyone was great. Either they were just like, damn you look great, or they were just happy I was leaving more donuts for them. :D The few who asked how were hoping I'd tell them I found a pill on a late night infomercial, or I rubbed a magic lamp at Antique Roadshow and got a wish. Sadly no, so they…
  • I'm calling BS on myself (before someone else does, and since I am apparently too stupid to figure out how to edit my own post). I do have SOME processed stuff, but it's like, canned olives or ghee or nitrate free bacon. I just don't have frozen dinners or bagged snackies like chips or crackers, microwave popcorn, or…
  • We eat paleo mostly so I cook _everything_. There's no processed food in our house. My calorie count generally comes in around 1350-1500. Yesterday, breakfast was a 3 egg omelet with chopped asparagus, red bell pepper, and baby spinach, with 2 pieces of bacon on the side. Lunch was a half an avocado, a handful of grapes,…
  • I sympathize with you, I really do. I hate when people say oh it costs the same to eat healthy as it does not to. What crap! I go to the store and I can get 3 boxes of generic Mac&Cheese for $1, or 1 bell pepper IF it's on sale. Feed 4 people 3 meals, or one person gets a snack. I live in a very small town and even if I…
  • I could tell them the truth but it wouldn't make them happy. So I tell them sex. LOTS of sex. They're still not happy, but their husbands are eager to help them try it out.
  • Worked my butt off outside in the sun for 8 hours yesterday, feel hammered like a hangover this morning
  • I did cold showers for about 3 months when my water heater broke. At the end of the 3 months I was still fat. And cold. And being cold meant tense muscles, which resulted in more pain. But hey good luck with that!
  • I balance on my scale with my toes positioned right on the very front edge. It shaves 3-4 pounds off from what I'd get if I stood square in the center. I defend this by reminding myself that the highest recorded weight I have on here was achieved doing that so I might as well continue the trend.
  • You know, I couldn't cross my legs right even when I was just 5 pounds over weight. I've always carried my weight first and foremost on my inner thighs and that never allowed that graceful, knee-over-the-other-knee cross that my skinny legged friends could pull off. Tho I do remember being able to ALMOOOOOST do it after…
  • If you enjoy it, do it. My friends don't get it either. I don't view my gym time as "exercise" anyway. It's like stress relief, anger management therapy, and an adrenaline rush, so I'd love to be in the ring or on the mats on my birthday.
  • I've done it for the last 10 months. Every few months I'll take the net carbs under 20 for a month, then back up to 40-50g range. Lost 70 pounds. Easiest 70 I've ever lost. And I still hit the gym with no problems. :)
  • I never did FF that much to begin with. About the only time I ate it was if I was meeting my junk food addict husband for lunch. That said I do have a minor addiction to fried chicken gizzards and a couple of times a year I hit Golden Chick for an 18 pack. I always feel like crap afterwards too.
  • Didn't do much different until Christmas week, then sort of gave myself a free pass to eat whatever for 4 or 5 days. Ended up losing 8 pounds between Dec 7 and this morning so I'm happy. :) Or I would be if I didn't have this lovely respiratory infection now.
  • I didn't eat all that much but MIL puts white sugar in EVERYTHING and I'm not accustomed to eating sugar at all so what little I did eat, I felt like utter crap afterwards. Like, passed out sugar crash comatose crap. Sugar coated ham, sugar in the beans, blarg. I did eat 2 snickerdoodle cookies which have always been my…
  • US vanity sizing makes me nuts. I have a pair of my old jeans from high school that are a size 11, and I was 145 pounds at the time. I can hold them up to today's size 6 and they're the same size. At my highest, 5'4" and 282 I was in a tight size 24 in low end brand jeans, and 22-24 tops. (which probably means a 30 in a…
  • Somewhere... it was several years ago... I found a bunch of people yammering about how radishes were the perfect low carb substitute for potatoes. Being unfamiliar with eating radishes to begin with I cluelessly printed off a copy of the radish version of homestyle breakfast potatoes. Basically a bowl full of diced…
  • I don't shave. I wax, from the lip down. No stubble, longer results. But that's just me, because I can't stand having body hair. What other women do is of zero concern to me. Unless they had dred pits... that I might have to stare slack jawed at.
  • I've lost 55 on primal. Would have lost more but got laid up for a couple of months with sports injuries and a couple of minor surgeries. It has literally changed my life... I went on it on a whim, friends were doing it and losing weight. Wasn't a huge change, didn't eat processed food or sugars anyway, and we already ate…
  • Throw a steak on a cast iron skillet, sear, remove, put on plate. Open a bagged salad, empty 1/3 the contents into a salad bowl. Done. That's what I call easy low carb anyway.
  • It's even more fun if it's something that doesn't come in a can or a box. Depending on which entry you're looking at, an 8 oz pork shoulder steak can run anywhere from 233 to 611 calories. I do a lot of chicken quarters (leg/thigh) on the grill and the same weight pulls up entries listing it anywhere from 300 to 900+…
  • If I eat breakfast I'll wind up snacking all day long. For whatever reason, if I eat before 11 AM, I feel like I'm starving all freaking day. If I just have my coffee and eat a big lunch, I'm in good shape. And it isn't what I'm eating that's triggering the endless munchies; half the time I eat the same thing for lunch…
  • I go over all the time, still losing weight. I make sure my carbs don't go over, and allow the protien a few grams of wiggle room but the fat I don't stress on too much.
  • ATM I'm a fan of 4 pieces of bacon and 3 eggs fried in their grease. And a shredded zucchini, also lightly sauteed in the bacon grease. Hey my cholesterol numbers are awesome and I got a bp of 115/73. >:) But if I'm in the mood for something lighter, it's wild salmon smoked on cedar with a side of french cut green beans…
  • This was about 40 pounds down. I've lost more since then but most of it appears to be leaving my boobs instead of my face so nothing new to show.
  • I lost 51 in 8 months, but I spent 2 of those months flatlined from injuries I got at the gym so if I hadn't spent 2 months on the couch playing Candy Crush, I'd have pulled it off in 6 months. So yeah, it's possible, but I did put a lot of time in at the gym and went low carb as well. I've also got a LOT to lose, which…
  • When I had an office job there was one woman who was always bringing in sweets she'd made. However, she also liked to tell us stories about how her cats "helped" her make them, and judging by the amount of cat hair that frequently appeared in her brownies and cookies, it wasn't too hard to say no. So for me, I just imagine…
  • Hell I'm probably ignored on every post I make, but since I don't care if anyone responds I never go back to check. Makes life easier. At the end of the day, everyone's just pixels on a screen. :D
  • Once upon a time I did a brief stint working in a donut shop. I never ate another donut after that. The glaze went into a big tray, set the donuts on the rack, run the glaze over them. That tray was only cleaned out on Monday. The rest of the week we were supposed to take two scrapers and try to manually remove all the…
  • Because of our schedules we usually sit down to dinner around 8 PM. I try to go to bed by 11 PM so once dinner is done that's pretty much it for me. The husband sometimes makes himself a bag of popcorn or Doritos and hot sauce around 11 pm and then crashes by midnight. I'm up by 7, breakfast between 10 and 11, lunch around…
