  • It is very frustrating!
  • That is an excellent idea, thanks!
  • It says on FitBit and MFP that you should be able to log your exercise in MFP with the start time and duration and the FitBit won't override for that period of time. It doesn't seem to be working exactly, but I can't tell because it doesn't give enough data on how it apparently leaves that time out! I already thought about…
  • Interesting that the Flex doesn't seem to do the automatic "Fitbit Adjustment" I see on mine with the One! I didn't realize it was there for a few days!
  • I have been logging the start time of the exercise in MFP, and according to multiple FitBit manual readings that should prevent double counting my activity. I like logging my activity in MFP, because then I remember what I did each day and for how long. But I'm wondering if I should put it in for zero calories, and then…
  • It's all about motivation. I see your point, and agree with a lot of it. That being said, I am a foodie. I LOVE FOOD. And when I started this thing out, the only thing that got me to that gym every day was the thought that I could eat those calories. It is still a large motivating factor for me, I'm not going to lie! Now…
  • Oh yeah!
  • I've been on the MFP diet for a year this MLK day. I always wanted to throw it all away and give into temptation when times were tough, but then once I saw results enough that I had to buy new clothes, I stuck with it better. Not only was I so much smaller that I needed new clothes, but buying the clothes and trying on…
  • Yeah, I went from a size 14 to 6, but my 36D/DD hasn't gone anywhere. At least 14's have room for that kind of bosom...6's don't at ALL! Blarg! I guess I am glad I'm not flat, but dang...a bra size I don't have to special order on the internet for would be nice.
  • Yep...I was going through that last weekend. There is nothing I can do to prevent me wanting chocolate around that time of the month! I just indulged (I only went over about 100 calories, not too much!) and let it go - if it only happens once a month, I can live with that!
  • Bob's Red Mill - Love them, but yeah, pretty high priced. If you have a co-op in your city, I'd try there. The Clintonville co-op in Columbus, OH where I am has a whole section of bulk containers of every grain imaginable - quinoa, wild rice, whole wheat pastry flour, barley, and all that for pretty cheap. It is also…
  • I am so sorry - skimming your post I thought you hinted at being a guy, and now that I've read it again I don't know where I got that. Nevermind about that! But seriously, if you have run multiple marathons, you probably are about as muscly as most guys so the theory stands!
  • If you are only eating a net of 1200 calories and you are as athletic and active as you say, your body is probably in starvation mode and clinging tight to every last pound. Try upping it to 1400-1500 and see what happens after a couple weeks of that. I mean, chicks are almost undereating at 1200, and dudes need more fuel…
  • I know! I recently became a size S, and I can't remember ever being that since I was a little kid! I usually hung out in the L-XL range up until this year! It is thrilling to have my old clothes hanging off of me now!
  • I agree. This is why I don't have "friends" on MFP, because it is nobody's business but your own. If you are looking for community, get on the message boards.
  • Actually that is what both my doctor told me AND what it says on my pill pack instructions. I take LoEstrin FE (Junel FE) if that matters...
  • I have a weakness for gin, and first I switched from tonic to club soda to reduce calories, and then I started using a half shot instead of a full shot. It's worked well - just ween yourself by diluting and reducing the serving bit by bit so you can still get that taste but not all of the calories/drunkenness!
  • If it hurts that bad, it couldn't hurt to get it checked out (if you have insurance and it's just a little copay - if not, I guess I'd weigh how much it hurts against the money you would spend,)
  • I've noticed I get them when (a) I eat within an hour before running, (b) when I am not regulating my breathing enough, and (c) when I am not drinking enough water. I heard once that the build-up of lactic acid in your muscles during exercise sometimes can be to blame - try drinking lots of water and breathing deeply to…
  • That's good to know! I have never approached 30 day shred as a system to complete in 30 days - I just use it for my training on the weekends because my gym is closed and I like to work out most days. It got to where level 1 was too easy, so I moved to level 2 but I haven't gotten to a point where I can make it all the way…
  • I wish I would have joined this when I was your age 9 years ago! I have struggled with my weight my entire life, and now that I am counting calories, it's all about the math! As long as I stay honest with myself (and it's the hard part - I mean, how many times have I wanted to take a huge piece of cake and count it as a…
  • I just went to physical therapy for joint pain in my knees and hips after running. I am still running, and I learned a lot of great tips. As it turns out, I am flat footed and had to get special shoes for that. WORTH EVERY PENNY. The new shoes, combined with the right strengthening exercises I learned, have reduced my pain…
  • I had that so bad once I lost the ability to check my blindspot when I was driving! But keep moving - it was made worse by not moving. I went to a doctor and got muscle relaxers to take before bed, which helped greatly. That and a heating pad at night. My doctor also showed me a stretch where you lean forward slightly and…
