I don't do anything in the evenings except play with my son. Not much time in the evenings for working out. it's much easier for me to workout in the morning before anyone else gets up

Congrats! I started (again) last week and i've stuck with it. The first few times can be a bit overwhelming, but hang in there and you'll start to see results fairly soon (like my pants fit a little better this morning!). GL

just use the MFP app it tracks cardio and strength training and food

Great idea Mike to have a place for some mutual accountability. I'm new here too. I'm "restarting" p90 after giving it a try a while back.
