  • I usually make it into a salad. My favourite is a parsley quinoa salad. I mix it with a bunch of veggies and tons of parsley with a garlic mustard olive oil dressing. I like to bulk it up with some "cauliflower rice" and grated carrot. I usually just cook it in chicken stock and use it in place of rice.
  • I don't want to sound rude but if you're so desperate then you'll make the changes required to become healthier. It's a conscious decision and you need to make a commitment to yourself to put in the time and effort to be successful. It doesn't matter what I say; you're the one who will have to put in the work day in and…
  • Ohh so that's how it works. The micronutrients counteract the binge/calories. What a miracle food!
  • I like ice cream, I like veggies. But not together. Never together!
  • My new lifting shirt. I also have one that says "You Wish" that I never would've had the confidence to wear in the past :) [img]http://s1354.photobucket.com/user/lizh998/media/Mobile%20Uploads/210_zpsec350393.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img…

  • I love these: http://www.food.com/recipe/korean-chicken-patties-449432
  • I've been cutting calories and exercising and it's worked for me! Recently I've been paying more attention to my macros but before my only nutrition goal was to be under on calories.
  • There may be "40 years of recommending cutting calories, eating low fat and exercising more" but have people actually followed that recommendation? Obviously not or less people would be overweight. Have you ever heard the phrase "A calories is a calorie...is a calorie"? It's a unit of measure. How much you eat has more of…
  • Myself? Being the best me I can be, and of course better health is motivating too. Like ninerbuff said. (Except I'm not inspired by a celebrity).
  • I'm not under 20% BF (yet) but I haven't eaten clean in order to lose fat so far and I don't plan on doing so in the future. Also, fat is the best macro. Oddly enough I thought I hadn't been getting that much lately when I hover around 45-55g/day as opposed to when I can get up to 80 or 90.
  • My cravings tend to be pretty specific (usually chocolate related) and if I don't actually give myself what I'm craving then I'll just keep eating substitutes until I eventually give in. Since I'd eat more until succumbing to my craving I tend to just indulge in a small portion of what I'm craving and save myself the…
  • I love to cook but sometimes I'm tired or lack the motivation to spend much time in the kitchen. What helps me is that I know it's cheaper than ordering something and I find fast food/pre-packaged food really boring. Simply put, I cook because I like good food and the food you get out of a package just isn't good enough…
  • I'd eat anything that combines chocolate and peanut butter!
  • Go out. Try and log whatever you eat and have fun! Enjoy the good food and time with your mum! This is a new way of living. Personally I didn't want to make any changes that I couldn't foresee myself maintaining for the rest of my life, and that for me included eating out. I don't go out too often since I can't really…
  • This. I never put on makeup to go to the gym but at the same time I never take it off if I already have it on. It shouldn't matter anyway. If someone wants to wear makeup to the gym or not it's their choice... I also like tight workout clothes. I find them easier to work out in and more comfortable. Plus I used to wear a…
  • 1650 gross. I do TDEE so my exercise calories are already included. I workout 3 or 4 times a week, mostly strength training. I'm 5'1 and losing :)
  • I'm sorry but "blend to light chunks" had me feeling  I have nothing constructive to offer the OP but I'm glad you learnt a lesson at the very least  ETA: I checked out the reviews of Haribou and now I'm dying from this one http://www.amazon.com/review/R3FTHSH0UNRHOH/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R3FTHSH0UNRHOH it's…
  • Thanks! It's a relatively new character trait I've developed. But I believe in calories in/calories out so if I wasn't losing then there was a logical reason! (Shameless self promotion but if you want to see my blog post it's here:…
  • I limit my dairy consumption only because I'm lactose intolerant (despite my family also coming from the British Isles, what gives?). That's the only reason I don't eat more dairy products. I'm not sure why dairy is getting such bad publicity. Is it an American thing? There are ads here in Canada promoting milk and milk…
  • This thread is pretty amusing to read, there's like 3 or 4 mini conversations going on. And yes, people can get fat eating "healthy" "unprocessed" "whole" foods. I was raised in a house that ate minimal processed foods. We cooked from scratch. Guess what, I was overweight even as a kid. My problem was portion control,…
  • I cut most dairy out since I'm lactose intolerant and it just wasn't worth the discomfort. I can handle some milk in my daily tea and I can't give up Greek yoghurt! I'll occasionally have cheese as well. I used to eat dairy and suffer the consequences but now I've found it's just not worth it. Lacteeze pills help, but…

  • I've been doing TDEE and it's been working for me. I like that it feels more like a lifestyle to me (one that incorporates exercise) and it's nice to know how many calories I get everyday so I can get in a routine. It feels healthy and sustainable - something I can do for the rest of my life. I made a commitment to myself…

  • QFT I used to like having a higher protein breakfast as it would keep me fuller and prevent me from munching on things. Now I prefer to save my calories for a bigger meal later in the day.
  • I'm doing Strong Lifts 5x5. I had no experience at all before starting so it's really designed for the beginner. You can find the program explained a little here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560459-stronglifts-5x5-summary…
  • As long as you can hit your macro and calorie goal then why obsess over where someone chooses to get those calories?

  • I love the theme of this thread! I don't know if there's anything specific that I've accomplished in 30 days - maybe a renewed sense of accomplishment. I hit my one year anniversary on MFP and wrote an introspective blog post about it. The positive feedback I received kind of reinvigorated me :). I also snapped out of a…
  • And my favourite Swedish dessert; kladdkaka!
