  • Cottage cheese has a lot of protein. I'm not a big breakfast eater but one serving of cottage cheese gives 16g of protein. You could also put it in some scrambled eggs yum yum! I also like Greek yoghurt with fruit or peanut butter on toast. Or make a turkey bacon egg mcmuffin on an English muffin (cheese is optional).
  • It seems you are in a healthy weight range. If ditch the scale (I realize that's easier said than done) and focus on strength training and feeding your body correctly. Plus if you're travelling around the world right now the focus on that! Enjoy it! I'm so jealous!
  • Everything! I like variety and knowing myself if I cut anything out of my diet then that's exactly what I'd crave all the time. I do enjoy soups, they fill me up, can be really yummy and let me get rid of whatever is kicking around in the fridge. Right now in obsessed with yoghurt and fruit or peanut butter on toast or…
  • I struggle to see my own weight loss sometimes. That's why I take pictures and measure. However my biggest progress marker so far is whenever I feel my "new" muscles and bones. The first time I felt muscles in my arm was amazing. And beginning to be able to feel definition in my stomach is encouraging me to keep going.…
  • QFT Check out that link, it's really helpful. In terms of diet I haven't cut anything out. I just use moderation. I used to do mostly cardio but now I'm focusing more on strength training and I'm definitely liking the results I'm having, particularly in terms of body composition.
  • I may just suck it up and eat the real deal dairy stuff - but then it might actually turn into a cleanse for me... But... So conflicted!
  • This thread went from wanting to hit my head against a wall to awesome! Thanks fellow MFPers. Any sane person's thoughts on a water only cleanse...
  • I need to find a way to join in. Being lactose intolerant is the bane of my existence (yes I'm being dramatic but ice cream is yummy!). Why have I never seen Talenti and Blue Bunny at the grocery store. Is Canada being excluded from the deliciousness?
  • I know how you feel. I'm nearly in the healthy weight range (about 7 or 8lbs away from the top of the range). I gave myself some slack around Christmas and it ended up lasting for 3 months. I pretty much maintained for that time but it was frustrating to hover around the same 2lbs for so long. Now I'm back at it and…
  • I like water and I drink it 7 days a week. I also like vegetables and foodz, I eat them 7 days a week as well... Anyway, in for gifs
  • These are the days when I try to take it easy on myself. I'm not perfect! I take the time to reflect on what I've accomplished so far. I try to objectively think about what's going on and deal with it. What is making me feel insecure? What action can I take to change it? That doesn't always work [or I'm looking for a more…
  • Whoa where did this topic head? Not that I'm complaining! @jonnythan, how have I not seen those pics before? @Achyra and ILiftHeavyAcrylics, I've seen yours before but they're also amazing! Ok back on topic. I don't really track my carb macro, I'm more focused on hitting my protein goal (I have no problem with hitting my…
  • QFT. If you're in a calorie deficit you'll lose weight. How you achieve that calorie deficit is up to you. I'm of the opinion that compliance is a big indicator of long term success, for me low carb or super low calories (I realize they're not the same) would present issues with long term compliance. I'll stick to eating…
  • Strong Lifts workout B (squats, overhead press, deadlifts) plus 10km on the stationary bike. Plus some snow shovelling. That was not fun right after getting back from busting my butt at the gym!
  • I find people comment more on my weight now. They make comments about me being small or cute or pretty or whatever. Before it was only really my family that commented on my body (in the we're concerned for your health and you need to lose weight, kind of way). Now it's strangers and coworkers who comment on my weight loss…
  • I had an internal rawr today when I finally got good depth on my squats. I felt it then and I'm still feeling it now (which is how I know I succeeded :D).
  • You're awesome! (And your socks are even more awesomer :P). I recently discovered that I love to lift :D. I also like cycling and can't wait for when I can bike outside again! It's amazing to feel strong and powerful. The first time I felt, and then started to see, muscle definition I was so psyched. It's addictive and now…
  • I have a lot because I like variety. -BUTTER -greek yogurt -fresh berries -pineapple -watermelon -spinach and cheese ravioli (kept in the freezer for a quick and yummy meal) -eggs -sriracha -chicken -broccoli -cookies! -turkey sausages -whole grain bread (I like Country Harvest's vitality no sugar and no fat added bread)…

  • I have a technique that will make you feel better. Eat well. Move daily. Hydrate often. Sleep more. LOVE YOUR BODY! Repeat ^^ for the rest of your life and you'll be feeling great. (There's really no need to "cleanse" anything. Your body does it naturally.)
  • On 1200 calories a day you should lose weight if you are logging accurately (you'll be eating at a deficit). But there are other things to consider when setting your calories goals - like satiety and compliance and whether you're eating at your BMR or you could be losing lean body mass. Anyway 1200 didn't work for me…
  • I don't think a dress exists that looks good on 9 different women. There ain't no sisterhood of the travelling pants in real life.
  • What kind of a wedding doesn't have cake or booze? It doesn't sound like a good time to me but she is family... I like that dress! But champagne doesn't sound like a good colour :(
  • Wow everyone posting here is so keen. I workout 3/4 days a week which is my goal for March. M/W/F I do Stronglifts + about 10km on the stationary bike. I aim to do some form of physical activity on the weekend, whether it be a class or a walk etc. Something fun and different from my weekday schedule. I don't think how many…
  • I've been doing stronglifts for about a month and a half now. I live the changes I've seen in my body and the sense of empowerment it gives me :).
  • I have a whole bunch of sizes. I try to purge the things that are way too big and look unflattering if I try to wear them (anything that's a large). My mediums are getting baggy and I'm beginning to fit a size small at pretty much any store now. As for pants, they're all over the place. I have from 6 to 10 I think. I keep…
  • Favourite - squats Least favourite - barbell rows (and most upper body :S).
  • I've always been short but only recently have people commented on me being small or petite. It's weird when I go to stores to buy clothes. I instantly gravitate towards the larges and mediums but they wouldn't fit me now. Instead I have to go back and grab the small that will. It's just so strange. Whenever I hold the…
  • You've done such a good job and worked so hard :)
