I will absolutely do this with you. I drink just as much as you do (maybe even more). I've gained about 70 lbs over the past five years and I am 100% sure it's due to my drinking (and the bad eating that usually accompanies it). Sobvember, it is!

I've never posted, so I'm no help there. But, until this gets fixed, one can always right-click the picture and select View Image to see it in a new window, which will let one see the whole picture. You've done an amazing job!

Thanks everyone. To clarify, I always weight in the morning after I use the restroom. By the way, I didn't have any salty snacks, just my booze. ;) Anyway, I'm glad to hear that it doesn't sound impossible for this to be water weight. I just couldn't believe that amount of water weight could have accumulated in less than…

NERD here. I have every MST3K DVD available (and one that isn't anymore, tee hee). I go to watch they live shows that they do now, and because of this I have a piece of paper autographed by Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy and Weird Al. It is framed and displayed proudly beside my framed autograph from The Guild.…

About 75 pounds here. I'm excited to get in touch with so many people who have similar goals.

I always loved Billy's Bootcamp. It works out so many areas of the body. Also, I know it sounds like it's only for the legs, but when I did step class I noticed a big change in my torso due to all the twisting it involved.

Oh wow, thanks for that "creamer" recipe. That's going to be a huge help for my husband and me.

Sounds like you might have the right idea in moving out, creamnshugar. He is being selfish by not wanting you to be healthy and happy. I don't think someone in love would ever want that. Another lady here commented that this kind of relationship gets exhausting and in the end isn't sustainable, and I couldn't agree more. I…

Thanks for this. It seems that no matter how many times I hear it, though, I tend to get frustrated with myself and drop out of my weight loss because I feel that I'm not getting anywhere. It's great to continually see people like you who stay motivated, though, and serve as an inspiration for me. Here's to finishing the…

I do the same thing! I also like using olive oil in place of butter (for health reasons, not so much for calories). If I drink, I almost always mix the alcohol with a flavored water like Crystal Light.

I did Weight Watchers years ago and my friend and I would save our extra points (we got 5 per day) up for Saturdays. On Saturdays we would always make sure to work out and eat even healthier than usual for breakfast and lunch so that night we could really treat ourselves. We would still be mindful of how much we were…

Just to get it out of the way, thanks to everyone who has responded. Every one of you has been helpful and uplifting. This is why I love MFP! I would have a much rougher time doing this without you. kmm7309- I like how you think with the "Every day I'm back at zero calories" mentality. That has helped me in the past, and I…

I have been struggling with deep depression for two years. I went on meds (Welbutrin) about a year ago and they helped. I was taking two a day before. I feel an improvement. On my worst days I still feel some clear headedness and the ability to talk myself out of bad decisions (alcohol or LONG naps, usually) and instead…

Wow, I wish I had found this thread earlier. Alcohol consumption is the biggest reason I gained 50 lbs in 2 years. Add to that the fact that I wasn't doing any more physical activity than absolutely necessary during that time. The evidence of how bad an idea that was is all over my body. During February I have gone about…

This is hilarious, but so true. It's funny I'm reading this after I told someone else about it for the first time this morning. They laughed, but I've lost 2 pounds before.

I'm loving this challenge! Monday: 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer Tuesday: 25 minutes of weight training, 20 minutes on the elliptical Wednesday: 45 minutes of weight training

Sounds delicious! Thank you!

I'd love to!

I agree with BryanAir. We went to a well-reputed shop in our area and got 50% off our Trek hybrids. We LOVE those bikes, by the way. Trek is a good brand, and a hybrid is great for people like us who will do a lot of riding on the pavement, but would like to take their bike to the beach or on a dirt path occasionally. No…

Fantastic! Thank you. I'm just seriously starting back today and I feel like doing the toilet paper roll comparison to help me through these first couple of weeks when the difference isn't very noticeable.

If you've already talked to them about what works, they've seen the proof of it in you, and everything they've every read or heard backs up what you say, then there's nothing more you can do. Just keep being a living example, which is a win for everyone, you especially. I have a friend that is exactly the same way,…

Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman. They are gorgeous!

I too am in love with a yogurt dressing. I have a store brand yogurt creamy Caesar dressing that is only 40 calories per 2 tbsp and tastes great.

Beck's is supposed to be the lowest-calorie beer out there. I believe it's around 55 calories a bottle. I can't remember whether or not it tastes good, though.

I love Sevendust!

My absolute 100% no-fail list of workout music awesomeness is my collection of Thrive-Mix CDs. They are fast-paced remixes of hit songs from the last three decades. They keep up a steady BPM (Beats per minute) and actually flow smoothly from one song to the next, so the beat never stops! Get these amazing CDs. I LOVE Them.…

For about half a year I had gotten so large that I couldn't wear any of my jeans and most of my shirts any longer. I was wearing stretchy pants and baggy T-shirts all of the time. I knew they weren't flattering on me, and yet I didn't buy new clothes because I wanted to motivate myself to lose weight, and I didn't want to…

I feel exactly the way you feel. Today I was practically ready to give up. I'm 2 lbs heavier than I was at the start, too. I've felt as if I don't have the willpower needed to stay within my 1200 calorie intake. And on that note, it feels so restrictive. I get VERY down when I eat very well for breakfast and lunch and yet…

I felt the same way. I was very angry with the book. I read the ENTIRE thing, because I feel that they have valuable points, but it seemed to me that many times they really were taking the stance of moral superiority to those of us who choose a different lifestyle than they do. I agree: There are plenty of people who don't…

I'm also wondering if you're accepting newbies. I just turned 26 last month and I'm SICK of weighing over 200 lbs. Something has to change!
