Assuming your male? How old are you? What is you current weight and height? 1500 is the bare minimum for men, so you don't need to be under that every day.
-
I went this evening, also. I was the only female and there were 5 or 6 men in there .. didn't interact with them, but it was interesting to see who'd shown up.

I didn't intentionally save calories and had no special dinner planned, but after the day was nearly up, I realized I had room for an indulgence... could have gotten a Blizzard (one of my favorite late night treats), but got a banana shake instead. It was delicious! Oh, and picked it up on the way home from the gym, so I…

That's what the trainer at my gym taught me when I took my first tour through the weight machines. Fast execution, slow return. He said you get a lot better results and I can definitely tell a difference in the muscle fatigue when I'm done doing it that way. (He was busy the first night, so just went through and did what I…

If you're using the app on your phone, you can look at "Nutrition" and weekly average. That will tell you how you're doing as far as your overall goal. As long as THAT number is around your calorie goal, you're good to go. I prefer to eat a bit less some days, more on others so I can have wings or pizza or whatever it is…

Net is after you deduct exercise calories, yes. Eta: this is my net for the week, which accounts for exercise calories. Well, not sure why it won't add photo, sorry.

My go-tos:* Progresso soups * Large salad with turkey or chicken * Long grain & wild rice with pork or chicken and mixed veg * Turkey sandwich or wrap, sometimes with chips, other times with raw veg or sliced apple

As others have said, for weight loss, it doesn't matter. For me, personally, I prefer two main meals (lunch/supper) and saving room for an evening snack. If I do three meals/day, I still end up wanting that snack at night, so just skip the morning meal because it's easier for me that way.

A sedentary person does not walk 10k steps per day. Adjust your settings to active and go from there.

I just put mine as 'circuit training' and how long I went total. I don't use it for exercise calories, though, as mine are primarily strength training and my Garmin already accounts for my steps during that time. If you're wanting the exercise calories, you can find circuit training in aerobic exercise instead of strength…

I just spent a weekend at distance family's house. I had no control of what they cooked/served. I had control of how much I put on my plate and didn't go back for seconds. I enjoyed the piece of pie they offered (because they were the kind that would have been insulted if I'd turned it down and I know one piece of pie…

While not necessarily bad advice, this has little to do with actual weight loss. 1. Use a food scale to weigh your intake, all solid and semi-solid items. Measure liquids in measuring cup. 2. Check food entries for accuracy. The database is user entered, which means there is room for error. Always double check. 3. If you'd…

I save calories for an evening snack. If I'm having cookies, I take two or three inn a napkin and put the rest away so I'm not reaching for another.

Seems like a renamed Atkins, from what I've seen.

Looks like your Monday was extremely low. If that one had been higher, you'd be more in line with where you should be. Your net average should be near your MFP goal, yes. It doesn't have to be exact.
-
MFP's calculations already account for the deficit you've chosen. If you've said you want to lose a pound a week, and it says to eat 1500 calories, that means your maintenance calories are 2000 and you are supposed to eat the 1500. Net calories are what you've eaten of your goal, less your exercise calories. Depending on…

Congratulations on how far you've already come!!! With only 22 left to lose, I would definitely decrease the loss rate to 1/2 lb. Better to be a slower loss and sustainable than to try and lose too fast and be starving every day :)
-
In the app, main menu, nutrition, select 'week view', net.. It'll show you how many calories you're under for the week and your net average. You can set it to go for the last 7 days or to restart on a set day per week.
-
Test a food scale, weigh and log all your food. "Eating healthy" isn't going to help you lose weight unless you're staying in a calorie deficit. Macros don't matter for weight loss.

Where did the 1000 cals figure come from?

Food scale. * Some things, it's easier to weigh as you add them to the plate/bowl, taring in between items. * For others, it's easier to set the container to the scale (a jar of peanut butter, for instance), then tare the jar. Remove what you want to eat and the negative number is how many grams. * For something like the…

I can't even pick one to respond to because they are all so amazing! I can hardly wait to post my after pictures.. I have to get 'after', first, though!

If I relied on motivation, I'd never get this done. When it's 28 degrees out and I'm comfy, cozy at home, I am in no way motivated to get out in that and go to the gym. I do it anyway. What I'm discovering is that, once I've made myself do what I didn't want to do, I end up feeling better. It's that initial push to get…

Are you doing Fri weigh ins? Looks like you had a couple of high sodium days this week which can cause water retention. Completely normal, nothing you have to change, but it'll make the number on the scale go up before it goes down again. You'll hear this over and over.. "Weight loss isn't linear." It's full of ups and…

https://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings Scroll down and set the privacy to public. That said, it's normal for the scale to fluctuate and for you to show a gain now and then. You've lost 6 lbs over what time frame? Have you changed your exercise routine? Helpful links:…

It's always better to start your own thread. Be sure to include your age, height, weight and gender so you can get more accurate information :)

You have me curious! If you've never gone over 125 lbs... a weight I would LOVE to reach, by the way... what brings you to MFP? I can't imagine that I would have ever found the site, much less thought to join, if it weren't for the fact that I needed a solution to losing weight.
-
Everything Connie said! You can do this! Just enter your stats into myfitnesspal, follow the calorie recommendations. For now, measuring your intake with cups/spoons will likely work well enough, but you'll want to get a food scale so you can be more accurate as time goes on (the sooner the better, really). As far as…

You're eating way too little. Enter your stats into MFP. Set your rate of loss at 1 lb per week. You're not heavy enough to go for 2 lbs per week. Add your exercises and eat back at least half of those calories. Yes, you'll lose weight at what you're eating. It's too aggressive, though, and you'll be far more likely to…

You know............ you could save 50-100 calories a day for the next several days and THEN eat the dessert! Seriously, though, I make room for desserts/treats now and then, otherwise there's no way I'd ever manage to stay at this. I either eat light through the day so I have calories for later, or I bank some up over the…
