Motivation vs Discipline "At its core, chasing motivation is insistence on the infantile fantasy that we should only be doing things we feel like doing. The problem is then framed thus: “How do I get myself to feel like doing what I have rationally decided to do?”. Bad. The proper question is “How do I make my feelings…

Wow!! You got 20 yrs YOUNGER in 9 years!! Amazing!

Maybe it's in your approach? Have you made it clear that you aren't looking for advice, but just to vent frustration? I ask because when I posted a vent/frustration post, all I got were the types of responses it seems you're looking for. Perhaps more clear communication would help you receive what you're looking for.…

This is why so many mention positioning, lighting, etc.... It can make all the difference!
-
Ohhh, maybe so! I didn't read it that way, but could be. If so, disregard my input!

Great question! Here for the responses :)

Just curious, but how are you measuring intake? Are you using a food scale? As you get smaller, your deficit has less leeway and errors are more likely to affect your weight loss.
-
Sounds like Intermittent fasting would be the way to go for you! Either with a small window of time that you're eating or, potentially, going OMAD (One meal a day). You can do a search for either and find a ton of info. :)

I read that people who are naturally thin tend to do this.. not sure how true that is, but it makes sense.

Have you altered your diet? Dropped carbs, by any chance? May be low blood sugar, if you have. Whatever it is, definitely get it checked out as others have suggested.

Yeah, tried that and gained 30 lbs back of the 50 I'd lost. If I have to keep track of calories forever, that beats getting fat again. I keep track of my bank account, my bills, and my calories. I wouldn't call that "having to track everything". It's watching out for the important things where it's far too easy to go over.…

As long as in a deficit, that's what counts. If that's a slice or two of pizza every day or a crap pot full of kale and radishes.
-
Complete and utter nonsense. I lost 50lbs by eating occasional pizza, hamburgers, fries, chicken strips, wings, cake, ice cream, and anything else I wanted. You absolutely CAN lose weight eating pizza as long as you remain in a calorie deficit.

To me, it means not sitting out when I take my son to some fun place... Sitting out of obstacle courses, sitting out of horse back riding, sitting out of zip-lining, sitting out of go-carts... because I don't think I'll fit, or because I don't think I'm physically strong enough... I'm tired of sitting out of life... I want…

These sound delicious.. I'm going to have to try them!

Chicken tacos - shredded with seasoning Coat with Shake and Bake and... bake Saute and added to chicken fried rice, or any other rice. I often use the Uncle Ben's packets, Long grain and Wild.. then just add some chicken or pork and mixed veg. You can always change up the seasonings you use while baking - Lemon pepper,…

Joined a gym last week and have gone every other day (twice on Saturday). Haven't had any noticeable progress, yet, but sticking with it and actually enjoying it!
-
I skip breakfast because I'd rather use those calories for a snack later in the day. I know which foods/times I want to eat most and allocate calories so I can do that.

There have been times when money was extra tight and, yes, I've done this with my son. It wasn't him being greedy, it was him being a growing boy, my child, and there not really being enough for both. I've given him mine and didn't want him to feel bad about it, so I phrased it in some of the ways OP mentioned. ETA: I…

Yes! This! Thanks for sharing

There are some things that, if I can't eat a lot of, I'd rather not have them at all. Chicken wings are the first things that come to mind. Dipped in plenty of ranch! Rather than cheat to have them, though, I bank calories over the week so I'm still not over my weekly calorie goal. I prefer to look at my calories as a…

I often scan my food in, yes. I don't have an apple watch, so no input there. I just use the app on my phone.

I'm on third time's the charm, but this is the first time I'm including the gym. Motivation is fleeting. Make a decision, put it in your planner or phone, then do it. Even if it's 20 or 30 mins, just go get it done. If you have to, think of it like doing the laundry or paying bills.. we don't necessarily like it, but if we…

50lb loss doing this, with no real exercise: 1. Create account on MFP, enter your stats, goals, activity levels and allow MFP to set a calorie goal. (As much as we'd all love to lose 2lbs+ a week, that is only recommended for those with 75lbs+. For 25lbs -50lbs, set it at 1lb and for under 25lbs, go with .5lbs) 2. Buy a…

Have you tried using the app instead? I haven't had any trouble on my computer, but the app is another option.
