I'm 5'6" and would love to be 135-140. But focusing on the scale drove me nuts. I get aggravated that if I slack off at all, there will be no results or weight gained. Do you have this problem as well? Welcome & good luck w/your upcoming triathlon!

I love zumba. I want to get the Zumba & Just Dance for the Wii. Mix up the cardio a bit. Thanks again for the responses! We can check in every Wednesday & see how each other is doing! I'll post a second thread (same name) next week.

The only strength training I'm doing is the P90x. The program is like strength every other day. Working on different parts of the body than the previous strength workout. Each workout is at least an hour. Some days longer. I try to do at least part of it even if I can't commit to the whole workout. I don't have a gym…

I still cannot figure out the "quote" thing on here, lol. This is the longest I've gone on a diet/exercise plan. I tend to fade out as well & get tired of it. Before starting this, I could eat ANYTHING I wanted, soda, no exercise, etc. & maintain that 150lbs. Which was the main reason for lack of motivation & quitting. I…

Thanks guys for the response! My calorie goal is 1250, but I tend to go over that (especially on the weekends). I feel as long as they are mainly healthy calories & not junk, I shouldn't beat myself up over it. Just staying under a calorie goal (with ANY type of food) hasn't worked for me in the past. I try to workout 4-5…

I hereby start the tighten & tone group! Friend me if you want. I'll post a new topic under the fitness category under "tighten & tone". Let's do it!

I'm in! My weight goal is 20lbs, but main concern is tighten, tone & get that bikini body by summer! I just started Phase 2 of P90X. I can already tell a difference after day 30!

Awesome work! I'm a couple days into Phase 2 of P90X. I've lost 6" off the waist & 1" off the chest area. You've encouraged me to start taking more measurements from now on! Keep bringing it!

Great work! Congrats!

I get like that, but sometimes I think it's in my head because although I'm full, I'm not satisfied. I need more carbs (fillers), something sweet, etc. Here are a few things I eat that have helped: Peanuts/nuts - higher in calories, but have the good fats & a handful keeps me full. Cottage cheese, V8 juice, saltine…

I don't have anything against the P90X brands. Just thinking money & something I can just pick up at a local store.

I just started the P90x. I work full time w/2 kids. It's a challenge to squeeze it in some days, but I try, even if it's before everyone wakes or after they go to bed. I'm sure there are some days I'm gonna miss, but I would hope one would still see results even if you take an extra day off here & there.

Thanks! What do you recommend or suggest, as far as picking one up at Walmart, GNC, etc.? Is it a protein shake I'm looking for? or more like a Gatorade?
-
Thanks all for the motivation!

No, haven't purchased any of the supplements yet. Money talks ya know. I already take a multi-vitamin, calcium, vitamin D & fish oil daily. I hope those plus fruits & veg will be enough.

I have had a hard time w/the carbs. I don't usually want anything sweet. I want salty, something to fill me, etc. So fruit won't satisfy me. A few snacks I've found are string cheese (lowfat), cottage cheese & nuts. The nuts (peanuts, cashews, etc.) are higher in calories, but are good fats & just a handful will fill &…

It's hard when there's junk food in the house. I'm trying to change my family's habits, but still stuck w/buying chips, etc. Try to find healthy alternatives in the house that you really like. Like for me, I love fish. So, while my family has spagetti for dinner, I have a piece of baked fish & steamed veg. or a can of…

I have to take it also. Blood work showed low, but mine is due to other medications. I take a pill daily, but can't remember the amount (don't have bottle in front of me). I've been on it for a couple months now & I can tell a difference in my energy level. It's supposed to aid in weight loss also (so they say).

Have to agree. Sushi sounds best. Other wise maybe the carved turkey breast sandwich or other seafood (not fried).

Thanks everyone for the advice! It's nice hearing everyone's point of view. The "full factor" is something I definitely consider. And I realize, that salads can be horrific depending on what is in them. It's gonna be a battle anywhere you eat out. I just want to stick to what's working as best as I can. If I slack off a…

Welcome & good luck on your journey! I love this site & it has helped me stay on track when I've fallen off the wagon. Feel free to add me!

I think you've named them all. I love watching them also. TLC sometimes will have documentary, 1 hr, shows about people. I've seen a few about weight loss. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

My friend & her sister were on Phentermine. They both lost alot of weight. Mainly, I think, because it suppressed the appetite so much. However, my friend (when she would eat), did eat healthier than before. I don't think either of them exercised much though.

Thanks guys! That helps alot. So do those HRM actually calculate calories also? or do you figure out cals burned after seeing what your heart rate was? Again, thanks for the info! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

Welcome! I've been on here for 10days & love it! I'm also trying to "eat clean". I'll have to check out that website. Great job on your progress so far! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

Welcome! I love it too. Good luck in your challenge. We can do this!

Feel free to add me as well! My goal is at least 20lbs, if not more. We can do this!

Hi. What exactly do you mean by "eating clean"? I just started MFP last week. Although I try to stay in my calorie range, this time around, I'm more focused on WHAT I eat & getting more exercise. Just because it may be lower in cals doesn't mean it is good for you. And just focusing on staying under that calorie range…
