  • A friend and I tried barre a couple of years ago, we had been doing cardio and weight lifting and thought we would try something different for a change. Both of us had lower back pain for several days after and didn't do the class again. Worth mentioning, the instructor is very form centric and was constantly observing and…
  • Hello Ladies! I'm 47 and mom to 4 ranging in age from 10 to 23. I have lifted off and on for the past 20 years, more on than off. I was a certified group fitness teacher for a while but let that lapse. I lift 4 days a week with a friend and write out our workouts. Frequently other women in the gym come over and ask for…
  • I started over yesterday. I lost 25 lbs. a few years ago and although I am aware that I am making not so good food choices sometimes most of the time it's good and yet I'm back up 15 lbs. I totally have the night sweats, especially bad the week prior to my period as well as the consuming everything in sight hunger. I have…
  • Way to take care of your entire self! You look fantastic and happy! Congrats to you!
  • Hi, I'm Holly. I'm 44 mom to 4 children 3 daughters 20,8.and 7 and 1 son 18. I lost 30 lbs. a few years ago with MFP and due to stresses of life and laziness I put 15 back on. I have recently rejoined the gym and started keeping track of what I eat. My husband bought me a fitbit for Christmas that I use mainly to make sure…

  • Height 5'4 Current weight 139 Goal weight 125-130 Age:44 4 children 20,18,8 and 7
  • I just received one for Christmas as well. I'm up for a challenge!
  • Okay, truth be told I've been off and on 'the wagon' for the past few years. I am 44, mom to 4 kids ranging from 20 to 7 yrs. old. I am 5'4 and currently 139 lbs. I would ideally like to get back so somewhere in the mid 120's region. I would love to add friends to motivate and give motivation to as well as be accountable…
  • The 'instant' weight gain is ridiculous! The fatigue is awful. Somedays I have tons of energy and get a lot accomplished then the other days it's all I can do to drink coffee and attempt to be a human.
  • Me too! Same scenario as you. I lost weight a couple years ago and maintained with minimal effort. Then a job relocation and whacked out hormones have caused havoc. I'm up 15 lbs and not happy with that! Feel free to add me too.
  • I'm 43 also! 4 children 19, 17, 8 and 6. I used MFP a couple years ago to lose 25 lbs. With my husband switching jobs and needing to relocate plus the blasted hormone craze I have put 15 back on. Looking for supportive friends who aren't afraid to kick my but if I get lazy! :)
  • Watch out for those 'healthy' frozen dinners as they have a ton of sodium which of course will cause extra water retention. If you can't cook every night maybe try to cook 3-4 days a week and have enough extra for the next day. Cook up some chicken breasts and veggies one night, then have enough left for lunch or dinner…
  • My youngest daughter (who is 4) and I were walking home from taking her sister to school one rainy morning. We have to cross a busy street that has an adult crossing guard, signs posted and a flashing light warning of a slow down. The crossing guard went to the middle of the road with her stop sign and we started to cross.…
  • You look fantastic! It really shows what a big difference losing a small amount of weight can make on someone, even if they are well within the 'normal range'. It is a different type of challenge when you have less to lose. People are quick to tell you that you don't need to lose anything and comments about trying to wear…
  • I totally agree with the perfume! There's a lady who comes in and sets her stuff down on the elliptical next to me and walks away to get the t.v. remotes (she has watch 2 shows at one time) anyway her perfume lingers for a good 30 sec. after she walks away it literally burns my nose and throat. I end up cutting my cardio…
  • Person 1) my legs/hips hurt so I can't walk this weight off now..um your legs/hips hurt because of your extra weight Person 2) I'm not eating bread, meat, sugar etc but I'd like an iced tea with 12 (not exaggerating, yes 12) Splenda! That's so much healthier than 2 teaspoons of real sugar..
  • I'm looking to add some new friends as well. A little about me. I have recently recommitted to logging and exercise this week. My family moved this summer so it's been about 4 months since I have been consistent with exercise. I had reached my goal weight in 2011 and had maintained until Sept. 2012 when my hormones started…
  • The American Girl Dolls are usually starting around $100 and they come with 1 outfit. There are tons of accessories as well. I have heard the store is a lot of fun though I've never been.
  • Madagascar here! This was interesting
  • Holly, not too strange nor too common and no I was not born on Christmas. My middle name is Jo (which I hated as it was a boys name to me) my grandparents liked to call me Holly Jo all one name, thankfully that passed with time, well mostly anyway.
  • I am 40 for another week and half, as for the 'hot' part that's subjective! Definitely in much better shape than I was in my 20's. I was thin then but not as strong. Most people don't believe me when I tell them I have teenagers, they usually just see me with my 5 and 3 yr. old and don't realize I'm as old as I really am.…
  • I'm 40 for couple more weeks, not too serious about much of anything. That being said, I try to exercise 4 days a week cardio and weight lifting. My body seems to be rebelling lately, due to hormonal issues so it's making things more difficult. I am pretty much at goal weight, give or take a couple of pounds, and have been…
  • What an awesome job! You look so much happier in the after pics, CONGRATS on all your hard work!!
  • You aren't the only one, in a given situation I would most likely be drawn to the guy with long hair. My husband had gorgeous shoulder length hair, a rich brown with red highlights (natural not salon) and curls. Once he was hired for an office job requiring a different protocol the hair had to go..unfortunately.
  • As cute as the plastic Habitrail hamster houses are..some over-zealous chewers can chew through the plastic in time. The last thing you want is to wake up and find the hamster is roaming your room somewhere. They are nocturnal so if you are a light sleeper you'll want them not to be in your bedroom. They like to run so a…
  • Another vote for Edwin, those eyes..my goodness you could get lost in them...
  • I am in the backyard hula hopping, with the radio on wearing my exercise bra and shorts in the sun shine! Also on the rare occasion that I get dressed up with high heels and my hair done!
