  • I'm eating about 1500 calories a day, and I work out about 5 days a week and burn 500 or more sometimes and right now am not losing. Thank you, it's been a rough 5 months and all the stress I know contributed along with the not eating regularly and going to the gym. Before, I was at the gym 7 days a week and 4-5 of those…
  • thanks :)
  • yeah and that's what I'm realizing now. Yes, that was one of the suggestions and the IIFYM has me at about 2010 calories for the amount of workout and intensity as I do. And the site you recommend is the exact site I used :) Now just wondering, as some have said, if I'll gain a bit more before I start losing again.
  • When I lost the weight before, I wasn't doing all the weight training that I'm doing now. I lost the weight by last May so it's been a year since I lost. The amount of weight training that I do is a lot more than what I was doing before which was more functional exercise. Some have said I need to eat more calories (carbs…
  • Thanks everyone :) and the pic I wanted to share was the one on my profile that is 3 pics of the front of me. It's been hard, lots of grunts and groans, pains and gains, frustrations and celebrations, but in the end I feel better and will continue on this journey. I now have higher goals and am going to work on them to…
  • It's a hard journey to change your lifestyle, but the benefits FAR outweight. Good luck to you, feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. Just remember, you can do it. Don't EVER give up, is what I always say, even when you have a bad day or you plateau, just keep working hard, you can overcome anything.
  • I was trying to insert the pic of my transformation, but I don't know how to show it, it shows a pic from Feb 2013, Oct 2013 and theny yesterday, but it is under my pictures, if anyone knows how to insert a pic please let me know.
  • I have the Polar FT7 and LOVE it, have been using it to calculate my calories and monitor my HR. When you know what your HR range should be it helps to keep track to be sure you're in the right zone. But I love it for the calories burned aspect. Make sure as you lose weight to change the settings, otherwise you'll get…
  • If any of you have a Facebook page, I have a page for my weight loss journey, feel free to like my page and get helpful info, motivational quotes and just motivate me. It's under Lisa's Weight Loss Journey to 100 lbs https://www.facebook.com/lisasweightlossjourneyto100lbs
  • You can do it, I was determined and motivated to get off meds and be healthier. I worked my butt off day after day, week after week, month after month and have found a great gym and group of friends there that motivate me and hold me accountable. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like
  • Thanks everyone :) I'm stoked for the new year, bring on 2014!!!
  • Do you have lifting straps? I just started while doing boot camp and they have helped me this weekend be able to hold onto my grip and give my wrists some strength
  • Looks like you're not eating enough some days and then eating out. There is a TON of sodium in all that take out food and you can't eat below 1200, that is the minimum if you eat below that like the 700 the one day, you're body is storing all the fat in the foods you're eating because it isn't getting enough.
  • Welcome and feel free to add me :)
  • Hi, welcome to MFP. You will love it it is so helpful. I have lost 64.5 lbs as of today since the end of February and am willing to offer support, encouragement or whatever. Feel free to add me.
  • Hi, I'm Lisa from Maryland and I just turned 50 in January and started my healthier me on 2/24/13 and as of last weekend 7/28/13 I lost 56.4 lbs. When I started I did not exercise or eat healthy and was on 8 different meds (5 for diabetes, 2 for HBP and 1 for cholesterol). I began exercising 5 times a week and changed my…
  • I wore a size 26 pants and a 3X shirt this time last year for my daughter's HS graduation and went shopping last week and slipped into and bought, a size 18 pants and a 1X shirt. I even was able to get into the size 18 years that I've had hanging on my bedroom wall for motivation. It felt SO GOOD to finally get to a point…
  • WW does work, I have done it a few times and in fact, used it to jump start me before I started here on MFP. But the one big difference between the too is the counting of points vs. calories. WW gives you free foods such as veggies and fruits. But once I started logging on MFP, I realized all the veggies and fruits that…
  • Welcome to MFP you will love it, I have done Weight Watchers and that has always worked, but now their plan counts veggies and fruits as "0" points but in actuality they have calories, so decided to do this instead and I LOVE it. Feel free to add me.
  • Mine has always been an open diary, I feel this way, I'm here to lose weight and get healthy, no reason to hide behind the computer screen, what you see is what you get. I even share all my stuff on my FB page, posting all my weight loss and stuff, I feel this is my way to journal and hold myself accountable. Feel free to…
  • Please feel free to add me and congrats on the new baby :)
  • I'm always looking for new friends, we're all here for pretty much the same reason, so why not have friends to share your healthy eating and weight loss journey with. Please feel free to add me :)
  • This is truly an amazing transformation. I turned 50 in January and weighed 262 lbs, am Type I diabetic, have HBP, high cholesterol and my dr has been bugging me for the past year to lose weight and exercise. When I turned 50, I didn't want to look and feel like a 50 year old so I made the resolution in February to start…
  • Thanks ladies :) I bought some chick peas and roasted red peppers today
  • :) Love meeting fans of rival teams. Have a great evening.
  • Woohoo Ravens all the way :)
  • I make time right after work. I have made exercising part of my daily routine and make a point to exercise and/or going to the gym at least 5 times a week, sometimes 6. But you just have to make it a point to have it become part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth or taking a shower :)
  • I've lost a total of 18.5 lbs, 6.3 lbs using MFP :)
