  • Great advice! For workout videos, go to fitness blender website. Free workout videos and you can search for ones that are low impact.
  • I have a knee injury and the most important thing and the most helpful thing I've ever done was get properly fitted for running sneakers. A true running store where they watch you run or walk and then suggest sneakers for your activity plans can make a world of difference. Even if you don't run, they can suggest the best…
  • I think I'm going to try to get down to 125. I'm looking at my stomach and I do have a little pooch and some jiggle so maybe another five pounds will help. I really feel like I'm just tired of worrying about it. I've just been working so hard to get fit! But I can't afford lipo so back On the saddle I go lol.
  • No cheat day. I am mindful of days when I know I am going to go over. Say, a family holiday dinner or my birthday or something like that. Its not planned or weekly. I know I'm going over, I enjoy my food, try to exercise a little extra that day and the day after. I think a weekly binge fest is too much.
  • I'm in my thirties. The bmi calculator said up to 140 or something like that. To me, that seems too high. Thank you for your encouragement! And thinking I might be in my 20s lol!
  • Dinner is my fun meal so I barely eat breakfast and lunch, saving the calories for the evening. Half English muffin, if anything, for breakfast around ten, fruit or cucumbers around two and dinner I just pig out. I don't like breakfast food, heavy lunches make me tired and I love going out to eat or just having long fun…
  • Shoes shoes shoes. That's my number one tip. Get fitted for proper shoes. Check out Hal Higdons website. He's old as dirt and has run a million marathons. Great advice for newbies to know it alls. Even if you are not planning on running a race, check out his 5k or 10k training program. It will give you some good ideas on…
  • I try to avoid fried food. I just feel sick after I eat fried stuff. I also keep "junk" food out of my pantry. Chips, crackers and that sort of thing. If it's not around, I won't eat it and those calories add up during my day.
  • Sorry, it's not exactly shake and bake but I feel like it's along the same lines.
  • There's a recipe on a mayo jar, hellmans I think. Boneless skinless chicken breasts, coat them with a mix of mayo and parm and then sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake. You can make your own breadcrumbs, seasoned with lots of herbs and non calorie seasonings, use reduced fat mayo and just watch the portion size for a…
  • Stick with it! Pictures can suck, the truth hurts. You got this!
  • I use 10 lb Dumbbells when I do deadlifts. I deadlift and then do a bicep curl as I approach a full standing upright position. I don't use the bar for squats. Start small. Remember the last few reps should be difficult but done with good form. Good luck,
  • Its kind of strange that you are not only waking up but are alert enough at that hour to want to get out of bed and eat. If I get up at that hour, I can barely find the light switch in my bathroom! Have you thought about talking to your doctor about this? At 3 am you should be sound asleep. It really sounds like a sleep…
  • I make a sauce for salmon using canned, diced, drained tomatoes, capers, white wine and a few cloves of garlic. I simmer it for about twenty minutes and then pour it on top of salmon, put it in the oven and bake it. the cooking time varies based on how well done you like your salmon. You could also broil the salmon and…
  • Was on it for years and didn't have a problem with gaining weight. Stopped using it and didn't lose any weight. Sorry, I wish it was that easy. Also, what hight are you that you hope to be 85 lbs?!!! I hope that is a healthy weight for your hight but it seems extremely low.
  • Do you put something in your dressing to replace the oil?
  • Feet strengthening exercises won't hurt either! Thanks for the suggestion.
  • I've been living in a pair of crocs this summer but I noticed that they are completely worn down. The soles are shot, the ankle strap is kinda stretched. I think they may have contributed to my problem.
  • I made eggplant parm last night and grilled the eggplant instead of breaking and frying it. So good! And saved a ton of calories.
  • The pain is better today. Yay! I think ice, rest, ibuprofen and wearing comfy sneakers all day should help.
  • Thanks for sharing! This is the first day that it's hurting so I will see how it feels in the morning. I probably can find the stretches for plantar fasciitis online.mmaybe I will just try them and see how it feels. I hate going to a doctor!
  • What a great tip! It seems silly but I automatically count and portion out a full serving of any snack food. I will definitely use this trick.
  • I was surprised by how close brown and white rices are to each other, nutritionally speaking. The way people rave about the virtues of brown rice, I was expecting some miracle food.
  • Fitness blender.com! I was just introduced to this from a mfp member. The site rocks. Free and you can search for the type of workout you want, duration, equipment etc.
  • Stop eating crappy sweets like the stuff your kids snack on and get yourself some adult sweets. Godiva chocolate? A local gourmet candy shop ? Just get something truly decadent. Something you will savor. You're craving more sweets because you never satisfy your initial craving. If your going to eat something sweet, make it…
  • Would your kids be interested in helping to cook a meal? Make it something fun like homemade pizza and baked wings or whatever but try to use some healthy ingredients and substitutions for higher calorie ingredients. I feel like kids are more open to trying foods that they had a hand in making.
  • I skip if I had a pig out day but for the most part, I weigh myself daily. I only weigh myself first thing in the morning and only go by my own scale. I'm sure it's not the most accurate scale but it tells me if I've gained or lost.
  • Fitness Blender looks great! I get bored easily with workouts so these suggestions are all really helpful.
  • Six week six pack. That sounds awesome! I love Jillian's style of training. I find her super motivating. And funny. "Your arms are the one part of your body that everyone will see naked."
  • Do you need To buy kettle balls for that or can you use regular weights?
