  • Okay everyone. Today was my official start date. I feel pretty good. But it is the first day. Anyway I did some reading on Keto before I started and it suggested that my carbs should be about 5-7 percent of my daily intake and to try to stay between 20 and 25. Based on the 5-7% my carbs on here are supposed to be 27g or…
  • today is Day 1 for me for Keto. I would love to be added. I have done some research but mainly I am just trying to take it a day at a time.
  • I am just starting this weigh in but here goes Name: Andrea Age: 41 Height: 5'8" Start Weight: 330 approx. the beginning of Oct. Goal Weight: 230-245 Weigh In: Nov. 1- 228.6 Loss of 1.4lbs
  • Day 26 walking my son for Halloween
  • tried to add you but states page not found. I am starting officially tomorrow. I have been watching my carbs for about a week and done pretty well but tomorrow will be a full on start. No more bread etc. At least not until I can incorporate it in using other recipes. (Almond flour etc). Feel free to add me.
  • Day 25 still not feeling the beat and had an extra snack but burned 150 calories doing weights
  • Thanks for the tips guys. Where do you find things like Psyllium husk, yacon liquid ( some recipes call for it) and coconut or almond flour. I have bought the latter in the past and think I can get those at a regular grocery store but I have never heard of the first two.
  • @ihp2015 I wouldn't fret if one day your are under your calories. I would say it is good to listen to your body, if you aren't hungry don't eat. I would suggest a snack and depending on if you are only county calories or doing low carb etc I would try for something a little more fulfilling maybe with more carbs or fat.
  • I had an okay weekend. I did take time for myself and my boyfriend and I relaxed on Sunday. We are almost always on the run with baseball or football so we took this weekend off. I did well eating Friday and even most of Saturday but Sunday I bombed. I was way under my calories but ate way to many carbs. I also didn't…
  • Day 24. I admit I was sick. Did not eat well or exercise.
  • Day 23 burned 300 calories deep cleaning the kitchen .
  • I agree the advice is great. I am starting on that day as well although I have been watching my carbs this week. I have dinners planned and will do left overs but will need to find some additional recipes for breakfasts on the go.
  • Thanks for all the advice. I may just try counting all carbs and raising them up to about 30 instead of 20. Ill check the net though periodically and see if I need to adjust.
  • Is Friday fitness day? If so then I can contribute. Today I swam laps to get in my exercise. On a much bigger scale though this is my 22nd day straight working out and burning some sort of calories.
  • Day 22: lap Swimming
  • Day 21: weight lifting. 117 calories
  • I don't believe regular milk is allowed. I think better almond or coconut or even half and half but this is what I have read. I haven't yet started myself but plan to next month. I am interested as well in meal ideas. I have done okay the last few days trying to keep my carbs lower than anything else (not yet full keto)…
  • Keto folks. I am starting full throttle on Nov. 1 but for the next few days I am reading labels and trying to do as much as I can for low carb. I had an Oh Yeah drink this morning and need some help. The drink contained 6gm of carbs but 3gm of dietary fiber so if I have researched correctly on keto this would be 3gm of…
  • Day 20: Got in 10 minutes on the elliptical for hopefully my last PT session. I will do a weight routine tonight as well. Day 19: I didn't specifically workout but I managed to burn 110 calories I guess while cleaning the house.
  • @ihp2015 I use my fitbit. I utilize it to track my calories burned when I exercise because it seems reasonable (500 for swimming) 200 for a 15 minute walk etc. However I do notice that the fitbit app will say I have burned like 3k calories and I can't figure that out either. Ive never seen that part transfer to MFP and I…
  • Wanting to start keto probably November 1st. Any recommendations on how to make the process easy. I have 4 kids at home so Ill need to make the dinner meals friendly and still keep carbs in the house for them. don't think they are ready for keto. also is it okay to start slow. Or should I jump right in.

  • Day 18: 10 minutes on the treadmill then a weight workout. Still burned almost 200 calories. @amburglar3 I always make time for the Jacuzzi when I get in the pool. I think it's a must.
  • Alright I am going to be very honest here. I am hoping by taking control and being honest it will help. I had a horrible weekend. I knew I was not going to do well because it was a weekend spent doing Halloween things with my boys but there were so many places I could have made better choices. For example Friday night I…
  • Okay everyone I am not going to lie. I took yesterday off. Other than the walking I got in for a normal day I didn't do much of anything and boy does my body regret it. I will start back today. I have already gotten in a little workout at PT but I plan to do some walking and strength training later.
  • Day 16: Lite walking. Went to a Xmas show.
  • @Jess03171224 I have issues with emotional eating too. I have heard great things about journaling but I haven't done it. What works best for me is to get moving, or to do something that doesn't revolve around food. A manicure, a walk, coloring, etc.
  • I started on here after the fall challenge so I don't weigh in on Fridays or Wednesday but I am proud to say that as of today I have lost 1.8lbs. Another .2 and my little scale will start to go down because I will be where I started. For me that is progress, moving in the right direction anyway. I got in a workout this…
  • @amburglar3 I agree. I would also like to see calories burned for weights. Supposedly you can burn more doing a weight routine than cardio and they don't offer that option. Sorry off my rant. Lol. Day 14: Therapy was a little harder but I did that and some weight training. Day 15: laps in the pool again.
  • @Nikion901 Thanks for asking. I stayed everyday under my calories goals on MFP. I am still struggling with staying below my fat amount and actually not using any calories I burn during exercise. Those goals will be added in weeks to come. I have lost almost a pound but again I have lost a few inches and that is a success…
