  • Same here. My goal is set at 2 lbs a week and I have been waking up at 3am Starving. Now that I read these posts, I am going to change to 1 lb a week and see if that helps. If not, 1/2 lb it is!
  • Thanks, Shirley. I saw that squat challenge and actually bookmarked it. I think I can do them if I go slow and spread them throughout the day.
  • Thanks. I will try to keep looking at the direction of my weight rather than the amount at each weighing.
  • Only lost 0.2 lbs last week, so upping my activity by adding some extra steps to my day. Starting a very mild strength training for my lower back. This may not aid my losses, but it will keep me in the game this time.
  • Wow. So many posts! I've got the diet under control with lots of healthy choices in the house. Now I need to double up on the exercise, I think. With back problems, walking is all I can manage right now, but trying to stay consistent with it. Getting impatient to see the scale move.
  • Thank you for the advice. I will pick a week's worth of foods and stick to them until I feel I have more time. Right now, any spare time has got to go to exercise, because that is my real trouble spot. Wish there was a supplement that made me love moving. lol
  • My two week weigh in: SW 184.2 CW 181.4 GW 164.2 This is so agonizingly slow compared to the swimsuit season dieting I did in my 20's. Does anyone else feel they are spending way more time shopping, preparing, cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen? Reading cookbooks, searching the internet for recipes and finding…
  • Hi, Marie! When we see "st" after the weight, it means "stone". In the UK and a few other places, 1 "stone" is equal to 14 pounds. Just multiply to get pounds.
  • Marie, I am on The 17 Day Diet. It is easy and does not require a ton of different ingredients.
  • Spending the weekend cooking all the recipes I will need for the next 7 days. If there is an "allowed" food available, I hope it will stop me from straying into the excuse zone.
  • SW 184.2 GW 164.2 Following the 17 Day Diet and starting C25K from the beginning. On alternate days I will be doing stretching and Pilates to help save my back.
  • I would like to join, too. Joined MFP a while ago, but slacked off after a herniated disc. 20 by Easter sounds realistic to me.
  • First of all, there is no such thing as failure in any type of exercise. You still receive the cardio benefit by trying to do the activity. You just haven't done it to your own satisfaction yet. I know power builders who can't carry heavy packages because they are not balanced loads, like weights. I also know runners who…
  • Cats are not capable of making several essential amino acids. They can actually go blind, lose skeletal strength and grow weak from malnutrition if they are subject to a veg diet. I have been working with animals for twenty years and it is regarded as abuse to subject a cat to this kind of treatment. Please consider…
