  • To the gal from Germany: I don't know when they may have started that, I was there in 2001 and if I asked for "pipe water" I received a glass of water free. In France I always asked for une carafe d'eau, a carafe of water and didn't have any issues. However everyone is trying to get your nickles and dimes these days. I…
  • I think it's best to count your own calories and learn the proper food portions. Eating food that is premade does nothing for educating you about portion control, nutrition or calories.
  • Most of the women here are thinking alike, regardless of what they like, you need to do what you want. I myself prefer a toned body, 6 pack is nice, forget the veins, hard biceps. I like to know I am in bed with a man, not a hunk of concrete. Just sayin'
  • You look pretty tiny in your profile pic. If your intake is low and you are exercising 6 days a week, your frame wont change all that much, I would assume that you are building muscle and tone. May I ask how much you weigh and your height?
  • I only like the toyyyysssss......

  • Wow! Don't ever undermine yourself with a weight loss of 77#! That is fantastic! It is more difficult to see changes when we start out bigger. You have so many things going for you, you are YOUNG! That is a great thing because your skin still has great collegen and elastisity. There is a great possibility that your belly…
  • Absolutely, when we are overweight, our self esteem is not as good as it we are healthy. Once we begin to take care of ourselves from the inside and begin to exercise, the "happy" endorphins flood our system. We feel better about ourselves, the way our clothes fit the way we begin to look physically. Sex begins in the…
  • OMG I was wondering if anyone was going to mention Planet Fitness! I love that place! They do not have any free weights over 60 pounds. It is a judgement free zone. All shapes and sizes, is there one in your area? Besides, just because they are lifting twice as much as you, doesn't mean that they are lifting it correctly.…
  • I'm 50 and loving it! I was overweight in my 40s, and something just sparked inside that I needed to get this weight off. MFP has the best group of people that are caring, knowlegable, supportive. This is a great tool to help you find yourself again. No middle age crisis here.
  • I love to have a garden! I don't have much space, so I do alot of pot planting. You need decide what you like. Some things will produce like rabbits. Squash, zucchini, and they will grow a foot overnight. Seriously, you only need one plant of those if you like them. Here's what I like, tomatoes (early girl, and grape)…
  • I'm not a runner, but I would love to be. Difficult when you have a chronic case of plantar fascitis. Pronation is when your inside heel wears more than your outside heel. Ankle turns in. Supination is when your outside heel wears more than your inside. Ankle turns out. Look at your everyday shoe and see where the wear is.…
  • Dont' feel bad, I bet I have read 4 posts on this in the last 3 days. You are not the only one experiencing this! Increase water, try hot water in the morning, (works for me) many have had luck with Senekot, it is a natural stool softener. Stay away from Exlax. If you go too long with out a BM go to the drugstore and ask…
  • I read a post on this a couple days ago, if I remember correctly most people liked the Polar ft7. A few people said that they too wanted a cheap one and bought a "cheap" one. Turning around later and buying the Polar ft7 because the cheap one they bought didn't really do what they wanted.
  • one oz of almonds has 160 calories, oatmeal depending on the kind about 150 a serving, banana 90. There's 400 calories, you have fiber, whole grain, potassium, mono fats. That would be a good way to spend the calories without feeling guilty.
  • one of my favs is "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. I find that I can jog on the treadmill at 4.0 with it and keep up. lol
  • I quit using Splenda the day stevia came on the market. I don't use many sweeteners, but if I do it will be a natural one like Agave, honey or stevia. Truvia is expensive, and although I don't use it much I have found another brand I like equally as well. It is called Ideal and is half the price. I can even find $1.00 off…
  • You gotta get things moving again! You might have eaten too much fiber too soon. Your body has to adjust to the changes you are putting it through with your food intake. I had this problem 2 weeks ago, not fun. Go to the drugstore and get an enema. Talk to the pharmacist. He can make a good suggestion for you. I have…
  • Where is the herniation? Thoracic or lumbar and at what level? (disc) and is it an anterior or posterior herniation. I am a PTA , I can ask the PT at work if you should be doing flexion exercises or McKenzie extention exercises.
  • Hi there! You are right, QUIT USING MIDDLE AGE EXCUSES! I am 50 years old and a physical therapist assistant. There are no excuses for not being healthy. My excuse was I just didn't try. I know everything to do, I know the ramifications, in MOST cases we have the high blood pressure and high cholesterol, pre diabetes,…
  • I actually had a reduction done. I was a DD, the Dr took me to a C cup. He removed 540 grams of breast tissue. That is about 1.2# per breast. Best thing I ever did for myself.
  • HELLOOOOO MSG! Water, water, water. I also notice a bloating feeling when I dont watch my sodium. You will get back on track.
  • You know what would be amazing, I just discovered Meyer lemons, thin skin that is edible and sweeter than regular lemons. Dice one Meyer lemon and put the whole thing in the salad.
  • this sounds great as well, I'm going to try this too
  • ground turkey with taco seasoning sounds delish! That I will have to try!
  • For an individual pizza I use a small whole wheat flour tortilla on a baking stone so it gets crispy. I have found the calorie counts range anywhere between 100 and 130 depending upon brand. I have used pizza sauce or non fat ranch dressing, then add steamed veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, onions and…
  • 50 is even better than 40! That's what you got to look forward to!
  • They have done studies that the people that get 8 hours of sleep are more likely to be successful at losing weight as well as maintaining a healthy weight. That could be a good goal. Or incorporating hot sauce or cayenne pepper at each meal. Not only will it help your metabolism, it is also heart healthy. Just a light…
  • I'm not sure if this is exactly a HRM, but I have been looking into a product that you wear 24/7 from bodymedia.com. It will measure calories burned during the day and even during sleep. There also is a program for calorie intake that I believe is similar to this one. I like the idea of being able to monitor sleep…
  • I work in a nursing home, it's easy to be wheeling a wheel chair down the hall to therapy and they just squeeze out like they have a mind of their own. Luckily, I just blend in.:blushing:
