  • W5D3 of 5K to 10K. I think that I walked less than last time - however, when I do run on the steep parts, it is clearly no faster than I walk, since I'm not any faster. Next time, I'm supposed to run the full 10K distance. I'm sure I'll still end up with some walking. Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:47 for a pace of 12:58.
  • I'm somewhat interested. I want to see reactions to the new features, but I've been thinking that I might be ready to upgrade my Charge HR as a birthday present to myself next year.
  • Don't worry about a little rain. I've accidentally dunked mine several times (not only in the sink, but in a creek) with no problem.
  • Same here. If I'm going to get a new Fitbit, I know I would really like to have the "Reminder to move" feature. I also like the idea of being able to change the band. I'm curious about other new features, but need to learn more. On the other hand, while the Blaze is kind of big, I think I might like its display, so I don't…
  • Yes, I saw them - the Charge 2 and the Flex 2. I'm thinking of upgrading my Fitbit for my birthday next year (February). I have a Charge HR that will be 2 years old at that point. I'm not sure whether I'll just stick with what I've got, get a Charge 2 or get a Blaze but I've got a few months to decide.
  • You don't give a lot of detail, so it's hard to say what is going on. I would recommend that you read the FAQ found in the stickies. Here's a handy link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10098937/faq-syncing-logging-food-exercise-calorie-adjustments-activity-levels-accuracy/p1 Someone recently posted a link…
  • I can't imagine how I'd do this if I had a job and a family to take care of. Being retired has its perks and being able to find time to exercise is one of them. But, it still takes more time than I really like. Plus, I've learned that, for me, during the summer it has to happen before breakfast or not at all. So, I think…
  • W5D2 of 5K to 10K today. I'm still walking more often than I'd like. I think I'm going to finish the 5K to 10K program and then cut back to a shorter distance and work on not dropping to a walk on the steep parts. Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:29 for a pace of 12:56.
  • The best advice I got was - "If you can run any slower then you're running too fast."

  • I think mine might make it 3 days without charging, but I usually charge it every day or two, so that I can do it when it is convenient, rather than when I have to.
  • I don't really care for the way either Fitbit or MFP display weight lost. I use Trendweight when I want to review how I'm doing in that area, generally using my computer, rather than my phone, because Trendweight displays a fairly short time period on my phone.
  • I tackled W5D1 of 5K to 10K again today. I still walked on the steepest uphill parts, but much less than on Saturday's attempt, so I'm counting it. Stats: 6.3 miles in 81:19 for a pace of 12:54.

  • @carriels7 : check to make sure your step source is still set to Fitbit Tracker. Either under Steps in the mobile app or on apps->steps on the website. I think this link will take you to the proper place on the website: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/step_trackers
  • I tried to do W5D1 (of 5K to 10K) today, but my heart just wasn't in it, so I walked a lot. I did do the entire distance, but I'm not counting it. I'll try again Monday or Tuesday.

  • @capaul42 : Did you check your step source setting? Especially after the disconnect/reconnect. (That may not be the problem, but that is one step I didn't see listed.)
  • Your Fitbit account is connected to MFP, not a particular Fitbit, so if your accounts are linked, and your Fitbit account has your Charge HR as a device, then you're good to go.
  • MFP wants you to log exercise in MFP because they want your eyeballs on their site, not Fitbit's. The problem is that the exercise linking back to Fitbit then over-writes the better data that Fitbit generated. I would recommend that you read the FAQ found in the stickies. Here's a handy link:…
  • Check to make sure your step source in MFP is "Fitbit Tracker". On the mobile app, look under steps. On the website, go to Apps, then Steps. If that doesn't fix it, then try the disconnect/reconnect procedure (disconnect in MFP, revoke access in Fitbit, wait a while, connect in MFP, check your step source once you're…
  • I was slow today. I don't know why and it doesn't really matter, since I'm still amazed that I can run at all, much less this far on our hills. I'm still walking occasionally, on the steeper parts, but I think I walked less today than on my last run. Today's stats: 5K to 10K W4D3: 5.67 miles in 74:29 for a pace of 13:08.

  • Well, that tells me what I can expect if I call them, then. It sounds like I'll be getting my husband to fix it. I wonder how long that 25% discount is good for. I wouldn't mind a nice discount since I'm thinking I might get myself a new Fitbit for my birthday next year.
  • The "Walking, 3.0 mph, mod. pace, walking dog" is not coming from Fitbit. It is either from MFP or from some other app that you have connected to MFP.
  • @Hope228 : Did you call Fitbit to see if they'd replace it even though it's out of warranty? My back is starting to come off like that but hasn't come off all the way yet. I'm really careful now when I disconnect from the charger to keep it from coming off completely. I'm going to call Fitbit and see if they'll replace it…
  • 5K to 10K W4D2. My willpower was somewhat lacking today. I took multiple short walk breaks. However, I did run during most of the walk break I was supposed to take. It was already warming up this morning, but I can't actually say that it was hot enough to blame the temperature for all those breaks. Stats: 5.67 miles in…

  • People have been having intermittent problems, but I don't know if there is a pattern to it. The first thing to check is that your MFP Step Source is set to Fitbit Tracker. On the mobile app, go to Steps and make sure it is set correctly. Or on the website, go to Apps -> Steps for the same thing.
  • Had a hard drive crash on Monday evening, so missed posting on Tuesday, so I have two updates. On Tuesday, I did a 5K to 10K Week 3 run. I ended up walking on more than one of the steeper sections, but still posted a really good time (for me). My stats for Tuesday: 5.57 miles in 70:38 for a pace of 12:40. Again, a faster…
