  • Had a hard drive crash on Monday evening, so missed posting on Tuesday, so I have two updates. On Tuesday, I did a 5K to 10K Week 3 run. I ended up walking on more than one of the steeper sections, but still posted a really good time (for me). My stats for Tuesday: 5.57 miles in 70:38 for a pace of 12:40. Again, a faster…
  • When I look on the website under Settings -> Update diet/fitness profile, it still shows Sedentary as an option, but I do see in my phone app that it is now labeled "Not Very Active" there. Bottom line... it looks like your Fitbit says you're not even as active as a typical sedentary person. How many steps are you taking a…
  • I would recommend reading the FAQ found in the stickies for this group. Here's a handy link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10098937/faq-syncing-logging-food-exercise-calorie-adjustments-activity-levels-accuracy/p1 You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Fitbit adjustment in MFP is calculated.…
  • Something is off, for sure. Check all your settings, on both accounts. Re-enter your weight, even if it looks right (there was a bug involving this a while back, and although I'd thought it was fixed, it never hurts to be sure).
  • Make sure Fitbit Tracker is selected as your Step source in MFP. Other than that, contact MFP support (which will probably start by telling you to do the things you've already done). Also, when you do the disconnect/reconnect procedure, be sure to both disconnect in MFP and revoke access in Fitbit. And then, don't…

  • The stats I post each time are just for the running portion and don't include the warm up and cool down. Yesterday, when I ran 5.07 miles, the total distance was 6.37 miles. I do log the entire distance in MapMyWalk, because I use their Gear Tracker feature to keep track of how many miles I've put on my shoes.
  • I only have one, but my understanding is that you can have two different Fitbits connected to your Fitbit account and it will handle switching between them seamlessly - just take off one and put on the other. It has no effect on MFP. MFP is connected to your Fitbit account, not a particular Fitbit device.
  • Today I did a 5K to 10K Week 2 run. I was going to do it yesterday, but my phone totally bailed on me again and I recognized it fairly early in the run, so I just gave up rather than fighting with it and just rejoined my husband on the walk instead (lately, on days when I run, he walks our usual route while I run and when…

  • I didn't start C25K until I'd been exercising in other ways for a couple of years, but I know that when I started exercising I had to start very gradually. I made getting at least some exercise every day a top priority and used various ways of tracking what I was doing in order to get positive feedback that wasn't related…
  • Log all exercise in Fitbit, log all food in MFP. For exercise that your Fitbit can track, it should be more accurate. For exercise that your Fitbit can't track (for example: swimming, weight lifting) the algorithm that Fitbit uses is thought to be more accurate than the one that MFP uses. If you haven't already, I'd…
  • I would suggest reading the FAQ found in the stickies. It tells you how to connect, but lots of other stuff. Here's a handy link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10098937/faq-syncing-logging-food-exercise-calorie-adjustments-activity-levels-accuracy/p1 The FAQ recommends using the MFP website, rather than…
  • I succeeded in doing the 5K to 10K Week 1 run that I'd planned on doing Monday today. Pretty good run. The weather was fairly cool, with clouds - although the wind was a bit more than I'd like occasionally (I don't want to lose my hat and it makes it hard to hear the podcast I have playing). It did take some willpower to…

  • First - this isn't the best place to ask questions. This is really just for finding other people to be "friends" with. Second - read the FAQ if you haven't already. • When I washed mine, it did die, but it turned out to be temporary. I was quite amazed 10 days later to realize it had synced with my phone. However, by that point, my new Charge HR was on its way, so I gave the One to a friend.
  • I know what you mean! I have had to cut back due to a knee problem and it would be really easy to stop running. It's harder to figure out how to start back up without doing too much.
  • I was going to do a week 1 run (of 5K to 10K) today, but my phone let me down - RunDouble quit and MMW was giving me nonsense - so I ended up trying to run but dropping to a walk fairly frequently. I really need a program to keep me on task. Then, on the way back down my knee was twinging a bit, and my husband was walking…

  • I used to do Wii Zumba for my exercise and credit it with a lot of my success. It was fun, it got me moving and my heart rate up - and I could do it at home where nobody could see me. Eventually, it got to the point where I couldn't get my heart rate up enough and I had to add other exercise. Fortunately, by then I wasn't…
  • I had to take a few days off because I had a knee problem. I've had knee problems in the past (before I started running), but they were more typical arthritis. This was, apparently, a ligament problem. I don't think my running caused it, but since I could barely walk on Monday after pushing myself to take our usual 5 mile…

  • You'll probably do fine. While I was working my way through C25K I sometimes had to let a few extra days elapse between runs. Sometimes, I went ahead and did the next run and sometimes I backed up to the previous week - it depended on how I was feeling about it at the time, how many days I'd had to skip, what else I'd done…
  • MFP wants you to log exercise on their site, just to keep your eyeballs there. There's actually no reason to do that. I log all food in MFP and all exercise in Fitbit. However, even if you log the activity in MFP, you should get credit for it, because it should send the info that you entered in MFP to Fitbit and increase…
  • I've been using Fitbit with MFP for almost 3 years. As I recall, every time there has been a problem like this, it has been on MFP's end, not Fitbit's. In this case, MFP is acknowledging the problem: https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2512971-fitbit-sync-issues-7-25-16
  • Your Fitbit adjustment in MFP is the difference between how many calories Fitbit estimates you've burned and how many calories MFP expects you to have burned (based on your stats and your chosen activity level). Therefore, if you're relatively inactive for a while during the day, your adjustment will go down.
  • https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2512971-fitbit-sync-issues-7-25-16 The text of that is: "Monday, 7/25/16, 8:30am PDT Hello folks, Please accept our sincerest apologies for any problems you are having with your Fitbit sync. Due to extreme traffic, we are experiencing Fitbit delays. It is important…
  • It's almost certainly an MFP problem. It isn't clear, though exactly what problem you're having. If you're not seeing your steps and not getting an adjustment then try reconnecting the accounts but then make sure you check that MFP is using "Fitbit Tracker" as your step source.
