Bob Harper (trainer from Biggest Loser) explains this in his book, Skinny Rules (highly recommend!). It helps to kick start our bodies. Its like a shower for the inside of us. It helps kick start your metabolism, according to Harper. I purchase the smartwater by Glaceau because it holds 4 cups of water. (I wash and reuse…

Stay away from the message boards. Use them like a pond, to search for the good fish. Some of the fish lurking around get a kick out of arguing, scrutinizing, "teaching", and some are just downright hurtful. I clean up my friends list often, and over the past 3 years, I've built a group of people that I can depend on to…

The only advice I can offer you is that I gained 7 lbs since about August. It is hard for me too. You are not alone. Take it day by day and stay strong. Your body has become accustomed to eating those sweets, so its going to take time for you body to come back from it. Just dont give up!!! :)

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!

Great job on the 2 month committment! That's sweet! Keep in mind that although you are in the losing stage, you want to build muscle because it helps you lose without effort. I'm sure you know this, but muscle is a fat burning mechanism all on its own! The speed helps with cardio and sustainability; inclide helps with…

Me too! Not eating though LOL Thats the difficult part

Justifiable! ;)

This show gave me sooooo much motivation last season!

Sara Lee has a lower sodium line of deli meats. The turkey has about 340 mg per 4 oz and the ham, I believe, is near 430. Its a great option when, like me, you love sandwiches!

LL Cool J has a book called Platinum Workout. He gives a breakdown of which nutrients should be eaten when. Basically. 25-30g of protein per meal, depending on your caloric intake. Good carbs in the morning. Simple carbs before and after workouts. Simple carbs are those that are considered bad. They are considered bad…

Looking amazing, as always! Way to go!!!!!

What a great idea!! Thanks for sharing!

I think you have great intentions, as did I when I posted an infamous "Food Diary Cheaters" post. Boy, did I get bashed! I have since come to realize that although I was being honest and keeping it real, some people need to learn these things on their own! I was wrong for pushing my beliefs on them, because, truthfully, I…

This is soooo true! I have been at this since December and LittleSpy is one of the people that I ALWAYS refer back to when I'm struggling! She is absolutely accurate about the mindstate you are in when you first start this. It is all or nothing, which is the opposite extreme of what you were doing before! And we all know…

Mandi, my love, You and I had an inbox conversation a few weeks back as I was under the same impression when I read your diet. If you remember correctly, I asked you about the amount of calories you were eating, the food choices you were making, and what your Dr thought about it. You were SO sure of yourself!! Girl, don't…

What helped me the most was monitoring WHY I thought I was hungry. I came to realize that I am an emotional eater. Food makes me feel good because it tastes good. Or I was bored. I noticed that on the days I keep myself busy, I eat less and I feel ok. I am not famished at the end of the day. I also noticed that I feel like…

Arent they amazing!! Funny thing is...someone else on MFP loves them because they were already in the database!
-
I think they do in like Whole Foods or Trader Joes, though I can never find them in Jewel! But process some Italian wholw wheat bread and voila!
-
Anytime! I love them!!! So much better than greasy ones! They have a tendency to dry out if cooked too long; might take a couple tries  . Basically, they cook quicker than you think they're done! :noway:

That sounds amazing! Got a particular recipe?

Its sooo simple! You can use 95% ground pork or 99% ground turkey (much leaner!). For every 4-5 oz, I add 1/4 tsp ground marjoram, 1/4 tsp ground sage, fresh cracked pepper and a bit of salt. I usually make about a lb of it and bag it in 4-5oz servings. I make the patties about an ounce each (they fit PERFECTLY on mini…

bump... Question: Is it a big deal if the pop is flat? or shold it be fizzy?
-
Well, from excercising, you likely have more muscle so you burn more naturally. You may also be eating less of the bad stuff than before? But either way, dont press your luck! LOL Get back on!! You look too great noy too!

Awesome job! So great to have support like that. It always adds such a boost of confidence and motivation!

I think we are ALL afraid of this...unless we have money readily available to use on repurchasing clothes. I say keep a few of your favorites and give away the rest. As you lose more, they will also serve as a reminder of how big you were when you started!

Someone once told me to register all losses....because a loss is a loss. and it works! I have lost the added pressure of the fluctuations. However, I did notice that I plateau longer. Lose 1 week, flat for 3. Lose 1 week, flat for 3. Not sure if its the timing (been at this 5 months), if its the method of tracking loss or…

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

thanks, toots! Its definitely noted!!! :flowerforyou:

The diary situation you just mentioned is exactly why I dont post on the completed diary status. There are sooooooo many food diary cheaters (for those that remember the INFAMOUS thread a few months back!) and I dont have time to check eveyone's diary before I congratulate!
-
This is the EXACT reason that I posted it... Ive heard "around the way" people comment about only commenting on those that comment (make sense? LOL), and I just think when you have a great support network it makes it easier...and even the non-commenters can make use of that!
