  • My boyfriend and I started at the end of May this year. He has lost (and needed to lose) almost 25 lbs. This is in combination with Cross Fit workouts. I have lost 3 lbs (but honestly don't need to lose). We LOVE the paleo lifestyle and there are a lot of foods that I would not go back to now that I have changed my way of…
  • I think I might make crab cakes.
  • Tuna with mayo & relish and half a grapefruit.
  • I love brussel sprouts. I like to cut them in half lengthwise and roast them. Asparagus is yummy roasted as well.
  • I tend to get lollipop head when I have lost too much weight. As much as I would love toe be 107 lbs again, 112-114 is a more comfortable, healthy looking weight for me.
  • Do you work out? Your weight loss thus far is awesome!
  • Awesome! One day at a time!
  • I did pilates for several years and it helped me tone up before, during and after my 2 pregnancies. I started out with mat pilates but moved onto reformer after about a year. If you plan on doing mat pilates on your home by DVD, I would advise at least taking 5-6 classes so you can make sure your form is correct and you…
  • My boyfriend adds flavored balsamic vinegars to his. We found this place called Outrageous Oils that has every flavor of balsamic you can imagine. We have strawberry, white peach and even dark chocolate. He adds a teaspoon or so of the fruit flavored variety to his water and loves it.
  • Air popped popcorn isn't a bad option. No fat, 31c per cup. You can sprinkle some salt or other seasoning on it. I usually have a good sized bowl 2-3x a week.
  • My measurements had huge variances... 25% 14.9% 18.8% for an average of 19.6%. I've never measured any other way so I have nothing to compare to, but I am 116 lbs. 5' 3.5" and 42 yrs old.
  • I don't like the super ripped look on a woman so I am not going after a 6-pack. I just want strong, flat and toned.
  • I would definitely alternate between cardio and strength training. If you google 'treadmill intervals' you'll find some great fat burning cardio intervals. Here is one I like... http://www.fitsugar.com/Print-30-Minute-Treadmill-Interval-6646201
  • All oil is processed. It has to be expelled/expressed somehow. Still, coconut is a better choice than canola oil....because WTF is a canola?
  • As for unrefined/refined, virgin/extra virgin, etc...refined is said to be better for cooking and baking because it can withstand higher heats. That being said, I haven't had any problems cooking or baking with unrefined. There is also centrifuged coconut oil which is probably the best way to 'process' the oil but it's…
  • I've been using it for a few years to cook with, bake with, use on my hair and skin as well as my kids. Sometimes I add it to my tea if I need more fat in my diet. I also add to my kids ezekiel toast in the morning to give them some good fat. I use unrefined, cold pressed.
  • I can't do grains either, when I do - I pay for it. I get bloated, cranky, tired and just generally feel like crap. It's even worse if I do white grains...my stomach feels like it's being twisted. I would love to work brown rice back into my diet so I could at least do brown rice pasta.
  • I prefer plain cake donuts to any other donut. We live 2 blocks from Krispy Kreme which doesn't do plain cake donuts. WTF?? My boyfriend has been dying for me to make Paleo donuts so I think I may buy one of those electric donut makers. I bought one for a friends kids last Christmas and they love it and use it all the time.
  • I only weight at home. I never even look at the doctor's office scale because they don't calibrate them enough for it even to matter (I used to work in a doctor's office). Plus, how often do you go to the doctor? I go once a year. The only time they should be weighing you at the doctor's office is for a physical/check-up…
  • I do Bar Method and I use my UP band to calculate. I set the stopwatch function at the beginning and end up class and it tells me my 'active burn'. I've done it once and then I gauge my calories based on that (I go higher or lower per class based on my own intensity level). Most days I log it at around 375.
  • Congrats on your little one! I would start off with just walking 30 minutes per day. With my son, I waited til the 3 month mark to start working out again. With my daughter, I went back to walking on the treadmill at 2 week post c/s and back to pilates at about 8 weeks. With both, I wore a medium support girdle/tummy tamer…
  • Do you eat beans? I went vege after my son was born and I made a lot of things with beans and quinoa. Corn and black bean enchiladas was a weekly dish. Quinoa loaded with broccoli, carrots, artichokes - whatever veggies I could get my hands on. Spaghetti squash in place of pasta, homemade veggie pizza.
  • I'm a big green tea drinker. I have a cup every morning and an iced green tea every afternoon. Back when I used to use artificial sweeteners, I would buy those 'flavor drop' things and add a few drops of the cherry limeade flavor to the green tea...SO GOOD.
  • Well, since I am not a fan of coffee...I loved the bulletproof coffee. For me, it was my breakfast. It provided me with the healthy fat & calories of breakfast and filled me up for most of the day. I would have to remind myself by 2pm to eat lunch. I made mine with grass-fed unsalted butter and MCT oil. I think some people…
