Most definitely. We ate a lot of processed foods because a) my father was a single dad with a 70 hr a week job and b) it was the 70's and no one knew that processed food was bad. That being said, he only bought Roman Meal wheat bread, raisin bran or corn flakes cereal, lots of veggies (canned), only apples or oranges for…

I like balsamic (1/4c) a T of capers, some crushed or chopped garlic and salt & peppers. That's for boneless, skinless breasts. If I am doing a whole cut-up chicken with skin or drumsticks, I rub the pieces with coconut oil, sprinkle on some garlic salt and squeeze on some lime and bake.

I use ice water too. I put the eggs in the pan and cover with water. bring water to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and cover pan, leave covered for 10 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to lower eggs into ice water.

I am a single mother as well (divorced) so I get it's hard to find time to work out. What about your lunch hour at work - could you spend 30 minutes of it walking at a fast pace? Or lay on the living room floor and do leg lifts or pop in a workout DVD. Or how about planking? Wall sit? All of these can be done at home.…

I have a Bar Method Membership and boyfriend has a Cross Fit membership - that's almost $400/month total.

I was looking at one of your entries for homemade spaghetti, ground beef and sauce - 1 cup @ 180c. If you had 1/3c spaghetti, 1/3 cup sauce and 1/3 cup very lean ground beef - that's well over 180c, probably more like 300+. 1 cup of those 3 things mixed together is an extremely small portion when you think about how bulky…

You look awesome! Congrats!

I have 3 kids and when we eat out they can order what they want. It's fun for them and allows them to make choices for themselves. Sometimes, the one or two of them will ask what the healthiest thing on the menu is. At home I would say they eat pretty healthy. I avoid gluten for them as much as I can, one has a milk…

Carrot Cake and Coconut Cream. Key Lime & Cherry are really good as well. I can't indulge the other flavors :(

I've never heard of them! What are they made of? I am a big fan of kelp noodles in place of pasta. My kids even like them.

How about 30 acts of services...do the dishes, gas up her car, make the bed - either things you don't normally do for her, things she hates doing or things she doesn't have to ask you to do. 30 quotes of love. 30 minutes of sleeping in. 30 times you have to say 'you're right honey' - even if she's not!

If you want to friend me, you can see mine. I don't limit my sugar intake though, I just get as much of it as I can from natural sources. I have heard people say that sugar is sugar is sugar, but I know my body feels a lot different (it feels terrible)when I eat refined sugars as opposed to natural sugars.

This sounds really good. I am going to make a couple of Paleo modifications and try it!
-
Ditto. Plus, things like sugar, gluten and starch make me feel like crap!
-
I usually have an apple.

Don't eat carbs. Evah. If you even smell them you may get fat. Do not use sugar as body scrub, you may get fat. Do not go in a saline pool or the ocean, it may make you fat.

I work 10-11 hours a day away from home and have 3 kids. I still find time. Maybe you need a different gym? Maybe you need a program you can do at home? Maybe your husband can take care of himself?

You are the only one who can sabotage you. If the cake or thought of it makes you feel bad, than toss it. If you want to eat it, eat it!

I work in an office that has a fully stocked kitchen for us - candy, snacks, cereal, ice pops, soda, pop tarts, pop corn. I just avoid it. No one is forcing me. If someone offers cupcakes on birthday days, I just don't take one. easy as that!

Oh Jelly Bellys - how you taunt me.

haha - no worries!

Haha! I do! it's 50 steps from my desk to the toilet!

I was responding to the OP. And the OP didn't ask whether or not she should do it. She asked HOW to do it.

There is still some sort of oil added to the bag during processing so it can pop - usually soybean or palm oil. That is about 4-6g a few per servings as compared to air popped which is 1-2g of fat. Then your are adding about 15g of fat with olive oil. I am not watching fat so I don't care, but if the OP cares about fat,…

My typical day... I probably save around 500 calories NOT eating artificial sweeteners.

I don't believe in starvation mode either. When I started my diet, I completely lost my appetite - for months. I had to force myself to drink coconut water and have an apple during the day. Some nights I could stomach a plain baked potato. I was consuming *maybe* 500 calories a day for a few months. I lost weight rapidly…

Actually, having two 5-6 yr old I would say a 32 lb 5 yr old would be underweight. MIne were 39-41 lbs at age 5 and not at all heavy, both very active sports players. That being said I think your daughter is right at the exact recommended weight for her age 18-20 lbs. But every kid is different - my son was 25 lbs at a…

Mine are at 20% carbs-30% protein- 50% fat. I try to stay around 1200c a day, work out 3-5x a week.
