I use a Polar FT4. They retail for about $80 but are worth the investment. It is easy to get set up and easy to use. Sets your heart rate zones based off of your info. Only downside is you have to download the user manual from their website. But you get access to a free training diary and has some cardio workout plans for…

yup. My advice on getting in all 8 servings. Start out your day with 2 servings. right after you get up. Will help get your metabolism started for the day too. Once you get the hang of drinking water when you eat, which is tough for most people, you will find it much easier to get in 8+ servings a day. Remember water…

probably best to get one for each of you. You could both use the same one (one at a time of coarse) but you would have to redo the settings on the monitor each time you switch between you. For example the Polar FT4 has you set your age, weight, height and sex to determine your target heart rate zones. So each time you gave…

Yesterday I returned my Timex and exchanged it for the Polar FT4. The Polar is MUCH easier to use. easy to set up and easy to use. You do have to download the user manual from their website, and register with them if you want to use their training website. but not that big of a deal to me. Go with the Polar!

You think we are just playgrounds for you to play on? We have feelings too.

You can expect to pay about $70 to $90 retail for a good HRM. I use a Timex with the chest strap and watch. If you are looking for one without the strap, you can look into either the Sportline Duo or Mio Motiva. Also the Polar Ft4 gets great reviews. The chest strap isn't uncomfortable, and it adjust to fit around you, I…

BSN Syntha-6 is great. Taste good in water and is amazing in milk. Kinda pricey but it is the best, And when it comes to flavors, chocolate is usually the best.

There is a difference between joint pain and muscle pain. If you are doing lots of squats with heavy weights you may need to get some support for your knees with braces or by wrapping them. going to the doctor is best bet! You can also get supplements for your joints by Labrada Nutrition® called ElastiJoint. Never used it…

Fresh produce and lean meats and lots of water! I usually pick up a package of chicken breast, cans of light tuna in water, peanut butter, WHOLE Wheat bread., Romaine lettuce and baby spinach leaf. I like to grill or oven bake the chicken breast and save it for lunch during the week. Cut up the chicken and toss it in a…

If you are building muscle then you are going to be sore after a workout. Sometimes the soreness will feel worse two days after a workout. sometimes it won't. everyone is different. Basically, you are sore because, as you weight train, you are tearing the muscle fibers, the soreness is from your muscles recovering. It is…

It should have a goal for Carbs, and lots of your carbs come from sugar or fiber.

If you are drinking 8 glasses (16oz serving) a day then your are drinking 1 gallon of water a day. Pretty impressive!
-
I can get 8 glasses down a day easy now. At first it was tough. I buy 16 oz bottles of water, so that is two servings per bottle. I drink my water at room temp, I find it is easier to drink more that way, but it is totally preference. My tips: Drink a bottle of water right after you wake up. and I mean drink it as fast as…

I like Syntha-6 by BSN. It isn't all Whey though. It is a compound of Whey and Casein's. Basically it is time released so to speak. Your body breaks down whey fast, but the caseins take time for your body to process. Syntha 6 is 22grams of protein per scoop and 200 calories. It taste good mixed with just water, but it…

I work out before work. I usually don't have to be at work until after 11am so I don't have to get up as early. But for the most part I always feel energized afterwards. You can expect of coarse that you will be sore depending on the workout. I workout Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and do cardio intervals on Saturday. My…

Welcome! I have to say that this has been the most useful tool I have found for weight loss. And I have been trying and failing to get back into shape for a few years now.

Similar, my 6year old son brought me an ad for Acedemy sports and said, "Here daddy, they have stuff to help you lose weight" Now that I'm dieting, the other day he told me about a commercial he saw for weight watchers for men or one of those programs. "Daddy, it said eat what you want and lose weight!"

..."if you ever get hurt, and you feel that you're going down, this little angel will whisper in your ear. GET UP YOU SON OF A B***H, cuz Mickey loves ya!" Mickey from Rocky 5 I don't know about any of you guys but I start my workouts with the theme from Rocky!

A heart rate monitor is the accurate way. one that will give your your Heart Rate, let you set min and max HR zones, and give you calories burned will run you about $70, If you are working out in a gym you need to get one that is "coded" like the Polar FT4.

Don't forget to change up your routine. If you continue on the same exact routine you will eventually plateau. It is best to keep your body guessing. Change up what you are using for cardio, switch to a stationary bike, or treadmill. or go running at the park or track. I also recommend a heart rate monitor if you want to…

Communication! You gotta talk it out with him. Let him know you need his support, and the best way he can do that is to cut back the fast food. I had the same problem starting out with my wife. She is thin and in shape and eats what she wants. I had to learn to say NO at first. So she would be eating a burger and I would…

"Empty your mind. Be formless, Shapeless. Like Water. You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash! Be water my Friend!" - Bruce Lee "...But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward...…

Personally, I think it is pretty hot to see a woman with toned arms, and legs too. But I don't speak for all men.

If you have an iphone or Android phone, download the free My Fitness Pal app. It makes tracking your calories 100% easier. I found at first that it was easier to eat pre packaged foods. But you have to learn how to read the nutritional facts. Find some fresh fruit and veggies you like and take those with you as snacks…

I started at 240, currently around 226. My goal is 180.

I use a Timex HRM. I use it mainly for tracking how many calories burned during a workout, But it also allows you to set min/max HR and HR zones. The Polar ft4 also receives high reviews.

Syntha-6 Chocolate. It has 22 grams of protein, and 200 calories. Has a great taste in water, I drink mine with light vanilla soy milk. Taste just like a chocolate shake. Muscle milk is tasty too. You can usually buy individual protein shakes so you can try them out. You can find them in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, sometimes…

I start my day with 16oz of water. and by start my day, I mean as soon as I get up I drink a bottle of water. After that it seems to be smooth sailing.
