protein before bed is good for me. i can't sleep hungry and protein i feel is kind of "safe" to eat before bed. carbs give you caloric energy (from my understanding) and if you don't expend that energy, it gets stored in the form of sugar - so carbs are best eaten in the first half of the day to keep your metabolism happy.…

 What a great post! You make a wonderful point, and yes, NOTHING compares to being fit and in shape. :drinker:

I would do a combination, similar to circuits. warm up for 5 on cardio, do 5 minutes of weights (1 leg, 1 arm), 5 more minutes of cardio, then weights again...until you run out of time. that way you keep your heart rate up, and you work muscles that keep burning after you leave.:flowerforyou:

I started just barely overweight with a hell of a self esteem issue to get over because of the way I felt about myself. I've lost 40 lbs and I'm much more confident but I still have what my friends call "fat girl syndrome" ...meaning I still feel like I'm bigger than I am, even though I know I'm not - if that makes sense.…

you all have completely raised my self esteem, thanks! I was all ready to go to the lake with my friends today...put on my newly purchased bikini, headed out the door, sun shining, gorgeous....10 minutes later the sky turned black and I saw TONS of lightning.. oh well, maybe another time. thanks all of you!:drinker:…

this is quite possibly the best compliment i've ever received. Thank you so much!!

haha, i weigh exactly what my license says I do. When I got my premit in 9th grade we had to put our weight on it, and i was much bigger than I am now, and I lied about it. Of course. It's the only time that I've been what it says I am. pretty cool.

yall are so sweet. i feel much better now that i know i'm not like crazy for purchasing this tiny thing. i fear that i will gain weight and never wear it...better hit the pool tomorrow to work on that lovely farmers tan i got from running away the pounds.

So finally I went bathing suit shopping. well, I went by myself, because I wasn't sure i wanted anyone to be there for my melt down. I posted the picture on my profile. like, is that me? My stomach still needs some work, but i'm not ashamed. I can't help but wonder if its like appropriate for me to go out in public like…

I have no idea why this happens, but sometimes I have the same thing. I've noticed that when it's exceptionally humid outside it's worse. sorry, no answers, but at least you're not the only one!

heart rate monitors are amazing. I really have no idea how I worked out without it. since i got one, I've only been to the gym/running ONCE without it - and I've had mine since October. I have a Polar F6

UGH i'm 22 and it put me at 27! ohhh well.

my parents were and are still shocked after me hitting my goal weight 8 months ago. every time i go home from school they talk about how i'm too thin...yaddayadda. I think it's just that they aren't used to me looking this way. Eventually they'll come around, and as long as you're healthy, it's okay! CONGRATS on your…

Some days your body is just exhausted and you don't even realize it. I have the same problem. Usually I run about 2 miles and my heart rate is between 175-185, then when I walk a half mile it gets down to like 155, then when I run again, it goes back up to around 180-5. Every now and then I'll just be dead tired barely…

there is no reason for you lose lose 25 pounds. you don't have that much extraneous weight, really don't try to lose what you don't have. you'll regret it.
