Make sure you eat some complex carbs before you run to keep your stamina up. Also - most everyone running will DART OUT at the start line and make a bee line for the route. Hang back, find your pace and then confidently pass them one by one. :) The energy at the beginning of a race is crazy - people go like mad - but don't…

I second CallMe - definitely look up ahead of time on the restaurants website, and even if you don't choose what you are going to eat, you can have a good idea of what to stay away from. Don't forget to look up cocktails too. Happy Anniversary!

I'm 5'3 and my goal weight is 135. I'll re-evaluate at that weight if that's where I'd like to stay, or not.

That sounds like something I would love!

Just had my morning snack! Celery sticks and ranch dip. I also made myself a cup of spiced cider, which I'll log as a morning snack. I've been buying the huge bags of pre-cut celery sticks at Costco. My family doesn't know it - but we eat a ton of celery! I throw it in soup, stir fry, smoothies, and have raw as a snack for…

I had some salad shrimp last week and I mixed it with pico de gallo and a squeeze of fresh lime - easy cerviche! I ate it with whole grain wheat thins.

I bought it last month, and use it in addition to what I already do (running, strength training with trainer, etc). I like it! I LOVE that it's 24 minutes long (and then some cool down period), so when my alarm goes off at 5:00am, I'm not dreading a 60 minute workout so early. Very doable with my schedule.

I use self tanner. In fact, as I'm sitting at my desk I can smell the Juergens cream for fair/medium skin. :) lol. I recently tried the Kardashian's GEL tanner, too and thought that was good. I have used a tanning bed before - and still will about 5x per year (usually right before a sunny vacation.) My mom had skin cancer…

Eh. I don't love it. I do strength training once a week with my trainer, but I prefer cardio. If it wasn't for my trainer, I'd have a hard time doing it at all. I love the results I have from my trainer (I've been with her a year), but it'd be hard to get motivated to do it alone. I'm glad I have her!

I plan for work, too. I also plan for extra hungry days so I can make good choices. I JUST now ate two things I didn't "plan" to eat - raw sugar snap peas and almonds. My other go-to "unplanned" snacks are: 100 calorie packs (either a chocolatey treat, or a salty treat), string cheese, diced strawberries or canteloupe,…

I do. Exercising makes me hungry - so I'd be totally hungry if I didn't. I guess it depends on your calorie allowance. I'm allowed 1240 calories/day (before exercise). That's too few for me to feel full on the days I workout. I find the day AFTER I work out with my trainer I'm extra hungry too, so I eat more. It doesn't…

Sometimes on Sundays I make egg frittatas, and bake them in muffin cups. Then I micro for 20 seconds before I head out the door. Frittatas are easy - just egg, and whatever else you want. Some of my go-to frittata ingredients are bacon pieces, spinach, cheddar, green chiles. This morning was a grab and go breakfast, I had…

My dinner recipe is coming from the "Eat Better America" website. It's Savory Chicken Stew and Vegetables. I'm <mostly> following the recipe, but instead of using Steam Fresh frozen vegetables, I've chopped FRESH carrots, celery, onion, and mushrooms and will also add sweet peas. I like this Chicken and Dumplings recipe…

Celery! I put celery in berry smoothies, or peanut butter/banana smoothies. We never actually taste it. I feel so sneaky and smart when I put celery in my kids' smoothies since they have no idea that they are getting a serving of vegetables at breakfast! Celery is a good source of vitamin B6, dietary fiber, vitamin c,…

I went grocery shopping yesterday and the following was on my list. I've added notes in addition for your dining/snacking ideas! skim milk cheddar cheese plain yogurt (I mix with frozen mixed berries. By the time I get to work, the berries are thawed - good morning snack!) frozen salad shrimp (I mix with fresh pico de…

This is what I'd suggest too. I have to give myself a pep talk before I go to sleep, and often when my alarm goes off.

Think of how good you are going to feel on the day you finally DO use your scale and can see a DIFFERENCE. Get back on track, you have several more weeks to make a difference in yourself. JUST DO IT! Think about how crappy you'd feel if you get scale after all these weeks and see no change or added pounds! Use this to your…

Ooh! I'm making this tomorrow for our 4th anniversary. I already have the salmon, now if I can just get rid of the kids for the night. (lol) Thanks!

Haven't decided. Either 1) leftover crockpot chicken salsa and black beans, lettuce and sour cream in a tortilla or 2) whole wheat pasta with fresh basil and parmesan with roasted asparagus. I'll likely also make a fruit salad - strawberries, apples, bananas and celery tossed with plain yogurt and honey.

Great Idea! Monday: 40 minutes, treadmill Tuesday: 24 minutes, 30 Day Shred! Wednesday: 40 minutes, treadmill Thursday: 40 minutes, treadmill Friday: 60 minutes, personal trainer/circuits

I buy a really awesome whole grain loaf of bread from La Brea. I buy several at a time, freeze and take one out each week. It's my starch a lot of evenings - very good with a little olive oil or real butter!
-
I'd make it happen before they get up in the mornings. Kids are unpredictable, and I like to have my workout SCHEDULED - so I'd just wake up 45 minutes earlier, get a workout in and then you are energized for the morning! It's DONE!
-
Smoothies I'd say! 1 - peanut butter, banana, soy milk, toss in uncooked oatmeal in the blender too. 2- frozen berries, celery (you never taste the celery in a smoothie, and you get a serving of vegetables), orange juice and plain yogurt.

I tried cooking light's pecan crusted tilapia last week. It was so good, I'll make it again before this week is over. And I rarely find a recipe that I love that much! Check it out, it's on cooking light's "most searched" list.

I have always bought plain yogurt, and added stevia to sweeten it, along with berries. Or - I'll do half plain yogurt, mixed with half my husband's sweetened yogurt.

I wouldn't regret it either. Good job for tracking honestly in your journal! I beleive everything in moderation too!

Pineapple chicken that someone posted here awhile ago. In the crockpot I put crushed pineapple, shredded chicken and soy sauce. About an hour before dinner time, I'll add a whole chopped green bell pepper. I'll serve over brown rice and probably roast some asparagus too.

This is what has worked for me, because I have a REALLY hard time too. I promise myself. I say it aloud before bed, promise myself I won't push snooze more than once, and promsie that I'll do a full 30 minutes before getting in the shower. When the alarm goes off, the first thing that comes to mind is "push snooze once,…
