Thanks so much for the kind words guys. It really is comforting to hear there are people to connect with about this. We hadn't told many ppl about the pregnancy yet so I feel somewhat alone in the loss. Thank you so much

Wow.... way to go!! You seem like you have such a strong fighting spirit! You go girl =)

They're awesome. Just drain them and rinse them really well (they have a weird almost fishy taste if you don't). Then pat them dry with a paper towel.... Then do WHATEVER you'd normally do with regular spaghetti noodles. Any of your suggestions would work great.

Sad update here: The ultrasound today had no heartbeat, no yolk sac. =( So.... clearly a non-viable pregnancy and my doc thinks I'll miscarry any time now. Would have been at least 8 weeks. She gave me pain meds to get me through the pain and bleeding. Pretty sad day. How everyone else is having a little better day ;(

lilibe: Thanks a lot! Yeah, I hoping it was just super early. Ultrasound tomorrow afternoon! Excited but nervous too

Totally agree! They also sell a low-sodium variety which I don't care for. There's also a chocolate flavor which I have not tried. I totally agree it's awesome although it can be hard to find. =)

First of all AWESOME JOB on your success!! Eating well, working and stopping smoking (!!) is the best combo of healthy choices you could ever make. Great job, keep it up! I was also a huge diet soda drinker and cut it out (for the most part) about 6 months ago. I started drinking tons of water (sometimes w/ a squeeze of…

Hey ladies! Just to keep everyone posted I had my first US this past Monday and they were thinking I'd be further along that I am (based on my LMP).... but I'm currently dating to about 6 wk and 1 day. They couldn't see a heartbeat at the 5wk5day mark and are wondering if it's just because I was so early. I have a repeat…

I totally agree!! I'm hooked on those bars for breakfast. That and a big coffee and you're good to go!! ;)
-
I agree. I feel like people comment less and there's less chatter than before too. Maybe it's all the nice weather? I'm here for ya!! ;) Keep it up girl! ;)

awesome job! Keep it up!

I know this is a personal question but I'm really looking to you all for some advice! How much weight did you gain during 1st trimester? I have zero nausea and am constantly STARVING. I have tried to keep cals in check but have inevitably gained several pounds already and I think I'm just 6 or 7 wks along. =/ First…

mathjulz -- Great recommendation about protein. Thanks a lot! I will pay more attention to that for sure. All that water talk has me thirsty again! lol.... off to guzzle some more! =)

Dpage- What an adorable baby!! And I love that hair!!! =) Congratulations!

Hey ladies! I have my first ultrasound on Monday although I think I'm about 6 weeks! The odd thing is I'm feeling great..... tired but not sure if that's above my usual.... but STARVING!!! I mean crazy starving all the time. I've tried to eat high fiber filling foods and lots of fruits/veggies and water.... although I…

I agree w/ everything said so far! HAVE your coffee!! What do you put in it? If you drink it black or even w/ some skim milk and/or splenda (etc) I wouldn't blink an eye. Go for it and just watch your calories. Calories in, calories out. =)

Nuts, avocado, peanut butter. Good luck, I think your diary looks great! Keep it up!

Eat super filling foods like apples, carrots, broccoli etc. Then a little goes a long way! I also am on a Vegan Boca Burger kick -- it's only 70 cal and then I put it on a whole wheat sandwich thin (100 cal) w/ some ketchup and mustard. Delicious and only about 200 cal!

I'm definitely a stress/boredom eater as well!! I've started drinking a ton of water, taking the dogs on a walk when I'm feeling particularly likely to binge..... and then when I do eat try to eat a huge handfull of carrots w/ hummus or a lite fudge pop (35 cal). Good luck! I know the feeling..... just remember looking…

I totally know what you mean. I feel like this a lot of the times! I try to eat a huge handfull of carrots (sometimes dipped in hummus) or even a big mug of chicken broth. I know that sounds disgusting to many, but it's really tasty and filling!

Hey Girls!! I'm a newbie -- my husband and I just found out I'm pregnant!! I'm probably only about 5 weeks along but they did bloodwork today to confirm gestational age. Anyway, we had been trying for 6 months so are totally elated!! Feel free to add me as a friend or whatever! Talk to you all soon! ;)

I eat a Fiber 1 Oats and Chocolate bar (140 cal) every morning w/ a giant coffee w/ a splash of skim milk and 2 splendas. I love it!! I'm totally hooked!! It's super filling (from fiber) and tastes so decadent and sinful... lol. Hope this helps! Some people aren't into granola bars but i love this one! Best of luck!
-
What about a BLT wrap? Or veggie corndog w/ ketchup to dip in? Or pita triangles with hummus?
-
My ultimate favorite breakfast is a fiber one chocolate and oats bar (140 cal) with a giant coffee w a splash of skim milk and two splendas!!

I'm 5'6 and my goal is 1270. With exercise I'd say I hit 1500. If don't exercise I try to stay as close to the 1270 as possible. It's hard but working! :)

Congrats for stopping the cigarettes!! That is the #1 thing you can do for your health! I say just keep it up with MFP, increased exercise and healthy foods within your calorie allotment and it'll come off! I know it's extremely common to gain weight after cigarettes - combo of taste buds coming back and not having the…

Completely agree!! I'm great in the morning and then come home from work I just de-stress/release and want to EAT! Many times I'm starving but sometimes I'm not hungry at all. I've tried eating a granola bar (Fiber 1 bar) and a large water as I'm leaving work.... and that definitely takes the edge off things and makes me…

I'm married but totally know what you mean, as I felt the same way when I was dating! I would order a piece of fish and only eat about 4 oz or the size of a deck of cards. That should keep you within 200 calories, then get steamed or sauteed veggies for your side! That's a reliable bet. Also, you could do the same w/ baked…

I totally feel your pain here. My husband LOVES to eat out... more than anything!! Haha.... and he's very slim. I have the same hesitation as you do. I'd rather just eat something healthy at home. However, we compromise.... I often get a salad (without cheese, dressing on side) and baked potato. We went out the other night…

The chocolate peanut butter flavor I bought was really disgusting. i had to add Peanut butter, splenda and cool whip on top to stomach it. And if you're going to do all that, what's the point!? Haha. My opinion is you should save your $5 and buy a portion controlled McDonalds or Chikfila 150 cal cone. ;)
