  • I agree w/ the previous post that I think your diary looks really good. I think being under your calories is the most important thing for weight loss.... but I admire you for wanting to decrease the fat some. I would also try to add in more "natural" snacks, like celery or apples and peanut butter, carrot sticks and hummus…
  • HAha whoa arsenic? That's hilarious! Good to know I can manually change that! Thanks =)
  • I never go to a party/get-together starving. I'll have a hand full of carrots, celery or cherry tomatoes before I go so I don't immediately eat all the unhealthy food in sight! Also, I always offer to bring something.... and I make it something uber healthy that I can eat even if everthing else is bad. (Normally a veggie…
  • I eat at least one every day and have never had an issue. Then again, I think I have a gut of steel! Sorry it's giving you so many problems... I love them!
  • Wow! Awesome! You look like a totally different person!
  • I don't think there's a right or wrong way. I think just as long as you measure the same time of the day each weigh in, then you're good! ;)
  • I totally know what you mean. I told some friends of mine that I was 145 at the time (and 5'6", muscular) and they were like "NO WAY!!!?? That's impossible?". Yes, possible. Weight looks really different on different people! One of my mom's friends (who is my same height if not an inch taller) says 140 is her upper upper…
  • I would try adding in some weight training - maybe about 15 minutes a day or so. Do you have any hand weights? I do lunges across the room or down the hallway w/ 10 lb weights in each hand... then squats, curls, tricep curls etc. That would help you tone up without bulking up. Good luck! Looks like you're on your way =)
  • I pack apples, bananas and baby carrots and celery sticks w/ a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. Have you tried that? They have all different flavors and it's only 35 calories per wedge! It's super creamy and tastes decadent and spices up any veggies. Also, the Fiber 1 bars are my absolute favorite (as someone already…
  • Running is a HUGE stress relief for me!! I put on my ipod to some fast jams or turn on a good TV show or movie and pound out the stress. It's like a valium for me! Also, pets are a huge stress relief for me. I have 2 dogs and if I go outside and play with them or take them on a walk they make everything seem better. I have…
  • That menu sounds great. You could do whole wheat noodles or brown rice -- just make sure to measure out your portions (especially of the noodles or rice). Plus, bulk it up w/ veggies! Maybe Broccoli, snap peas, asparagus or squash/zucchini -- all those go well w/ the thai-ish menu. Good luck and have fun!
  • You can make a dish by dicing cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions! Add salt and pepper and maybe a splash of balsamic vinegarette. Delicious!
  • I've recently discovered her a coffee pick-me-up drink of hers that I love!! I make it at home... It's a cold coffee/chocolate/malty drink that only has 70 calories!! It's great for an afternoon pick me up especially in this crazy heat. Hope you enjoy!…
  • It's only my husband and I (plus 2 birds and 2 dogs), but we spend $100-150 per week total on groceries, supplies, dog meds etc. I only buy stuff to pack for lunches and I plan out all our dinners the weekend before and only buy those ingredients so nothing goes to waste. You can save a lot of time and $ doing that. Good…
  • Fiber 1 Original!! It's delicious with splenda on top. It's only 60 calories for half a cup and has 53% of daily fiber!! Extremely filling and delicious w/ splenda and/or blueberries on top!
  • Completely agree. Be proud of the NEW you!! I think he's just being insecure and having a hard time with this adjustment. Congrats on all your hard work!! Keep it up!!! =)
  • You could try SlimFast chocolate shakes. They only have 190 calories and are delicious and super filling!
  • You may want to check out Hungry Girl's drink/cocktail book. I've seen her make a Margarita on TV w/ diet sprite, crystal lite lemonade mix, tequila and crushed ice.... just not sure of the amounts of each. It looks great though!
  • You look awesome! I'm sure you will turn heads at your reunion! ;)
  • Gosh I absolutely LOVE Spin and Body Pump!! It's the ultimate funk-buster!! And thank YOU for people like you who teach them!! =) Great job!
  • I wouldn't listen to a trainer for medical advice. Keep going with the coffee! It has amazing antioxidants and does aid in weight loss.
  • First of all, I just wanted to say sorry for all the uncomfortable comments. =( I totally hate that. I would recommend starting to eat around them more. I know that would be really hard, especially at first. I had somewhat of the same experience earlier this year. I was doing a particular rotation at work (in the…
  • How about you get the best of both worlds and buy the new Bagel Thins. (Have you seen those?) They only have 110 calories each. They're thinner than normal bagels, but if you just LOVE bagels, that would be a good choice! Maybe a scrambled egg on top? Then you get carbs and protein. I'm all about fitting in the things you…
  • BambooJoey --- Adorable haircut in the last pic!! Love it!
  • I totally agree with the previous post about avoiding picking and snacking! This is a huge problem! The ways I've changed are: - Use a smaller plate (salad plate) for dinner. You automatically eat less and your plate still seems totally full. - I found out my favorite sandwich shop offered carrot sticks instead of chips…
  • I ate there this past week (not by choice) and everything was SOOO salty and buttery. I got grilled shrimp, brown rice and steamed veggies... only it was all floating in butter. It was really gross.... I hope I don't have to go back again. I would estimate about 1000 cal for that sandwich there.... Sorry =(
  • Thin but athletic and toned. The body builder look is a TOTAL turn off!! (For me at least)
  • I'm also an emotional eater but it mostly involves negative experiences.... especially anxiety about a certain task / work / long hours. I *think* it will help soothe me and make me feel better... but I always just end up feeling guilty and frustrated! Logging everything on MFP has definitely helped and I've tried to go…
  • It depends what you're looking for. Better 'n Peanut Butter doesn't taste like regular peanut butter. It's more like a peanut flavored spread. Where I buy it, it's $6.99 so that seems like a steal if you see it for $3.99! ;) Many people don't like it, but I think it's pretty good -- especially when you're eating it with…
  • My friend used the Body Bugg and dropped 10 pounds over a period of a few months (and she didn't have much to lose!). I guess it just allows you to be more accurate in how many calories you're burning. She had nothing but great things to say about it. Good luck!
