  • Same here. I even checked the calories while wearing a heart rate monitor, and it the difference was negligible.
  • I second the taking measurements; take pictures too; i've been taking pictures every few weeks (month, maybe) and that confirms that I am losing weight. You might not see it like you want on the scale, but you'll definitely feel it in the way your clothes fit. Congrats and good luck!
  • i cook for one too; like others have stated, i often batch cook on sunday and portion it out into individual servings. for example, last sunday i made a batch of lentil soup to use as a base for meals this week -- so i would brown up some ground turkey, or add in some white fiber pasta, and then toss a salad and dinner is…
  • I like the Clif Crunch bars, and often bring them on my bike rides -- although they get a little crumbly. I'm not sure the regular clif bars have enough protein for me to consider them a true meal replacement...maybe the clif builders (about 20g), though.
  • i have the orezi also. it has a tare function, and easily switches from grams to ounces etc. highly recommend.
  • i'm currently partial to the syntrax brand of protein powders. i'm currently using the following: 1. syntrax matrix 5.0 (combination proteins) banana cream flavor: per scoop: 110 calories / 23g protein/ 1.5g fat / 2g carbs -- it's not an overwhelming fake banana flavor, and i really like mixing it with oatmeal. 2. syntrax…
  • don't quit...i know frustration is natural. my body weight fluctuates daily -- i know i shouldn't weigh myself daily, but i do, since i promised i would not allow myself to get discouraged by what the scale says. i found my body was holding on to water when i started using heavier weights during my routine (i am on day 28…
  • If you really want an accurate count, to be able to honestly eat calories back, a heart rate monitor is the way to go. I think buying one was the best decision I ever made. And I tend to agree that "normal" every day activities shouldn't count as exercise, but if you're really busting it moving furniture, or mowing a hilly…
  • still going strong. i have about 4 more days of jillian michael's 30 day shred to go. keep it up guys!
  • i'm on day 12 of 30 day shred, and i didn't think i could make it through level one. level 2 is a killer, but i just follow anita, and actually just have some confidence that i can do it. keep with it! but yes, i have been known to scream expletives at jillian, but at least she's doing some of the exercises with us! if…
  • the nice thing about the leslie sansone dvds, if time is an issue, is that she breaks them down to 12 minute miles. so you can easily do them anytime of day, and it's only about 12 minutes for a nice little workout. i'm also doing jillian michaels' 30 day shred, on day 12 - day 2 of level 2 - and it's definitely a…
  • water was a little low - odd considering the heat. got my 2 miles in this morning, and then mowed my hilly lawn for a pretty nice burn in the afternoon. didn't do my day 2 of level 2 of 30 day shred, but i'll hit it again tomorrow.
  • I'm in the middle of a 30 day shred, but just ordered Jackie Warner's "Power Circuit Training," and can't wait to start. The 30DS is an awesome workout, but I wouldn't mind adding some more weights to my routine. I'm also interested in running a 5K in the near future, and have been doing Leslie Sansone's "5 Mile Fat…
  • i forget to log all my water, but i try to take in at least 3L a day. it's easy to remember since i refill my 32oz nalgene twice, drink at least 2 glasses of water with meals, and have another 32oz water bottle i use for cold-brewing tea. i think i need to be eating more, especially since i've ramped up my workouts, so i…
  • Did 2 miles with Leslie Sansone DVD this morning, and then Day 10 of Level 1 of 30 Day Shred with Jillian Micheals. I'm going to hit another couple of miles tonight before dinner, and if it stops pouring, take my dogs for our nightly 1.5 mile walk.
  • i'm in the midst of the 30 day shred, and i'm not really annoyed by jillian. as some others have noted, i find it motivating, and i also appreciate that she DOES some of the workout with the 2 other girls, unlike another video i have where the trainer doesn't!
  • i completed day 8 of level 1 today. i love shredding first thing in the morning before starting my day. i've also noticed that i am getting stronger and have much more stamina... i don't find jillian that annoying, but i almost have all of her cues memorized! lol. i am nervous for level 2! starting it on Monday morning!
  • great recipe! you can also try roasting the cauliflower for a little more flavor rather than just boiling it!
  • actually had some 2 nights ago for dinner! i made i with a turkey meat sauce, and it hit the spot! i recommend roasting it in the oven instead of just microwaving it.
  • Hi Rosa! I added nutribullet-blasts with mostly vegetables and fruits to my eating plans, and enjoying it. I didn't want to buy a juicer because you lose all the fiber of the produce, and have to go through a lot more for a serving of juice. I've been doing this for about 50 days, and now instead of chips and cookies, I…
  • i like syntrax nectar's vanilla whey protein -- 23g protein, 90 calories, 0 carbs. i mix it into my oatmeal or smoothie in the morning. i've also been making egg muffins for the mornings -- this week they have ricotta cheese, so they taste like the insides of a lasagna. super easy too: 4 eggs, 2 c. part skin ricotta, 1/4c.…
  • same here. i just get the highest % of chocolate and it quells it quickly. i personally like the endangered species brand -- good stuff; gives me my fix, and i'm helping animals! also, as others have noted RE: magnesium...i actually haven't craved chocolate since i've started adding spinach and kale to my morning…
  • Thanks for the feedback! I am going to up it to 1640, and be sure to eat back my calories. I'm not interested in losing the weight fast since it took years to pack on, I just want to lose it for good! I was just feeling satiated at 12-1300 calories, but can easily add some clean calories to my current plan!
  • I've been test tasting different protein bars for a few weeks now, and I agree that the Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough tastes really good, especially when microwaved for about 12 seconds! Almost tastes like eating out of a tube of Nestle Tollhouse! I also have a stash of pure protein smores and chewy cookie, which are…
