BLE is very popular, but because we don't typically count calories and record our foods, I suspect that's why not many are on here. Thanks for your help...

Hi everyone! Just signed back on to MFP after a few years away. I lost 45 lbs here back in 2011 and have just joined WW... needing something more moderate for my life style. Hoping to find others also trying WW while using support here! Please add me!!

OMG this would kill me! I'm 20 days in MFP and have only taken short walks. My life consists of mostly sitting... at work... at home... If I had to guess I may have 1000 steps by the end of the day... but that is stretching it! But this will give me a reason to buy a Fitbit... or one of those gadgets... So why not????…

Thanks so much folks! Great ideas and ways to think about running. I have a dream of doing a half marathon someday even though I'm 55... why not??? Yall rock!
-
Love this idea... makes sense! Thanks...

I read an article once that talked about the psychological reasons that women buy lots of sweaters, winter clothes... related it to nurturing needs. I suspect that's what being fat does for a lot of us and our clothes hug us in ways that we didn't get hugged growing up... well at least for me... Love your story... gives me…

Hi everyone! I'm back after a long hiatus... and still trying to work up the motivation. My life is full of work and grandkids and trying to change a life style is not the easiest thing to do. But I'm tired of the carrying the weight and have to find a way to make this work. More later... but for now... it's good to be…

Sounds like you are really pissed at the health interruption in your life and haven't given yourself permission to express the rage... which is now showing up as lethargy. Feel that feeling... write about it... find a safe way to express it... move that energy!!! Tell the truth about your feelings and the rut will shift...…

Can't speak for the BodyMedia question... but welcome to MFP! Feel free to friend... have just returned and need to lose 100... Tammy
-
Wooohooo!!!! congratulations!!! You are awesome... amazing... courageous... and inspirational!!!!
-
Gasped when I saw Rachel. The others look typical for a finale... but her loss is extreme... and the trainers knew it...

Your story deserves popular/national attention! You are amazing and put my excuses to absolute shame!! thank you !!!

During the periods in my life when I've quit Diet Coke, I've found Apple Cider Vinegar to be a great substitute... only once/twice a day though. Half and half with water and sweetener (natural one) and there you have it. Right now I'm on a Diet cherry Sprite kick... Although I've got to say, my brain and gut does much…

Don't take it personal... I know that's easy to say and hard to do... but the truth is that the comment reveals more about her low self esteem than it does anything about you... Confront her about that!
-
Absolutely brilliant! Loved your blog post!!! What an inspiration...even though the truth is hard...doesn't necessarily make me want to jump start a new life style... but the results of your emotional and physical transformation do!! Thank you for sharing your "journey!"

I buy into it also with my grandkids... However as a priest and chaplain I am constantly undoing the damage done by this myth. People grow up transfering onto God a Santa Clause persona who is making a list and checking it twice gonna find out whose naughty and nice and at some point you cross over onto the naughtly list…

You are going to get some strong opinions on this. Please listen to your body...it'll let you know if you are hungry. My trainer says no to eating burned calories... but if you work out intensely and feel hungry...then eat... Also watch your sodium and drink lots of water!!!!
-
This is such an inspiring story! Thank you so much for sharing it! I have so many questions...how did you lose 100 lbs in one year???? Wowzaa!!! Is it really possible? And you did it with a family! I feel so lame...I complain everytime I work out...gripe about counting calories... and am just overall unmotivated... well…
-
Yes it is worth it... and I hope you know that you are worth it. There is much left for you to do before you take your last breath. Breath deeply and choose to engage fully...

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do need our muses...

I do not see it as my job to "support" everyone I friend. There is a huge benefit in friending people who are successful and serious about their weight loss journey. They support me and I support them everytime someone makes a comment, opens their food diary, expresses their frustrations. We're not here to enable or hold…

Make sure you have good support so that you can continue to do the things you love doing. It's not an "either/or" thing. A happy mom makes for happy kids....

Some people have all the answers for everybody eh? Good for you for sticking to what works and trusting your body! I hope to be so lucky on 1600 a day....but if not...I will be lowering the count!! Keep up the good work!

I'm a bit surprised by some of these comments. You have a legitimate issue here and I'm not sure most of the men here get it. How about going to management and suggesting a women's weight area/room? This is an intimidating issue at least. And yes there is value in confronting or asking them. But there is also such a thing…

Grandmallie... sounds like a tough place to be in. No one deserves to be at the bottom of the pile, esp when dookie is falling on top of you. I suspect this is a life pattern for you however. Find a way to get yourself out of the bottom... the view from the top is spectacular. It'll take some hard work on your part...but…

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Love reading over the posts...you are all inspiring and awesome. I confess to having a hard time getting my mind fully in the game. Had a head cold over the weekend and gave in to being sick and did not pay attention to much else. I have paid lots of money for a personal trainer, which is pretty…

It is very easy to give up...one day turns into two and before you know it lots of pounds have inched their way onto your hips! Which is what happened to me... lost 45 lbs with lots of blood sweat and tears... and then went through a major transition and couldn't give any energy to staying motivated. So here I am…

I am so grateful that I have a job that pays me enough to be able to do things like hire a trainer and join a gym, which I did today. I can't sustain paying for a trainer, but thank God it was the catalyst to get my motivation jump started!!! Today the eating wasn't perfect...but wasn't awful either. Need to up the…

Good for you for being honest. That's a great place to start. I agree that you need to be concerned...however what you are talking about is an emotional issue and requires emotional support. Please seek out a counselor...someone familiar with eating issues. Work on this now hon... don't wait till you're my age and have an…

It's a spiritual crisis in my book. It also says something about how we have changed over the last 100 years, both in our level of activity (hello television and internet ) and in our food (fast food, processed, etc). Besides, caring is important. It's like caring that porn is at an all time high and many young kids are…
