Biggest Loser Finale...what is going on??
Ok, I am normally a fan of Biggest Loser, but tonight is kind of disturbing to me. Maybe it is just where I am at in my head, but I am wondering if anyone else who is watching is thinking the same thing. Do the contestants look a little sickly to anyone else? I am seeing 2 of the 3 contenders for the grand prize and Allison Sweeney looks obese standing next to them and she is by no means a large woman. Some of the contestants even look tiny next to the trainers. Is it just me or does anyone else think so too?

...I was waiting for a thread to start about this. Rachel...wow. This show has officially taken a turn for the worst. Yeah, I am pretty disappointed.0

I haven't seen it.. Maybe I should catch up? What season is this on, anyway??0
-
Basically...it looks like she lost all of her muscle. I think she looked WAY healthier before the finale.0

A MFP friend just posted about this! From the pictures coming up during searches, they look good! However, this MIGHT be from previous times, not the finale episode. Anybody have a link to this BL people?0

I just did a search and there is no photos up yet, but I can imagine there will be tons in the next hour or so.0 -

-must watch this-
Grrrr, feel bad for them for not properly being educated on it..0 -
I stopped watching several seasons ago when the woman who won basically admitted after the fact she got herself 15 pounds underweight to win the money. She looked awful (gaunt). I used to find it inspiring until I actually started losing weight myself - then I realized how unrealistic and unhealthy of an example they're setting.0

Gasped when I saw Rachel. The others look typical for a finale... but her loss is extreme... and the trainers knew it...1

Rachel looked unhealthy to me. I looked up her height and her final weight, and she is underweight according to the BMI Calculator. I'm scared for her!0

This is exactly what I believe happened tonight. The girl who won, Rachel, looks incredibly ill and like she went too far to win the money.0 -
She looked healthy before the finale. She looked athletic. Now...I don't know, I am usuallythe first to say way to go to weight loss, especially for that magnitude of a loss...but she looked sickly..You are right she lost all her muscle.0

I know! did you see Jillians reaction?0 -
Rachel stats are 5'4" and final weigh in 105 lbs. She won 250,000 thousand bucks. A quarter of a Million dollars.
She lost 59%-and-change of her original obesity.0 -

Ok, that explains it. I saw her at 150 and thought she looked fantastic! Maybe a BIT more if she wanted (toning, I mean, and I do mean slight, since I am working hard toward that size), but hell, she was golden at that weight. Thanks for the update I'm scared to see how she looks now....0 -
Yep the look on the trainers faces said it all!0

I totally agree...I was very disappointed with how Rachel looked....she looked severely underweight. She was much healthier looking when she was on the Ranch. There was like nothing left to her arms. And Bobby did look a little thin too but not quite as bad. The only one that looked really healthy and fit was the dad, David. He looked like he had it figured out.0
-
So unfortunate. I thought Rachael looked great when she was leaving the ranch! I know its a competition and she wanted to win, she demonstrated how competitive she was throughout the whole season. Biggest Loser will be talked about a lot in the coming days...0

Gotta go watch now ... yikes.0

I honestly think that this is the end of Biggest Loser tonight. There is no way to hide the unhealthy nature of the show anymore.0
-
260 down to 105lbs...she doesn't look very healthy at all! And I'm pretty sure by the looks on the judges faces, they agree with me. looks like she's been starving herself since she left the ranch....there should be an unhealthy weight clause for winning the money!0

I'm not watching because I support it, but rather because of the shock...0 -
Rachel and Jennifer were my favorite this season. Jennifer looks great. Rachel looks anorexic So disappointing.0

Rachel finishes with a BMI of 18.0 and the largest ever percentage weight loss on the show. It's well-known that contestants do extreme things in the week before the finale - you can look up interviews with past winners especially the guy from I think Season 2 who probably almost died after the finale - it's very gross and I don't want to get into details myself but again you can read it if you want.
Hopefully she was only doing that for the money and didn't end up with an eating disorder as it's bad enough without THAT happening.0 -
Rachel looked perfect IMHO the previous show. The look on Bob and Jillian's faces when she walked out tonight said it all. NOT OK!!! Rachel is taller than Jillian (who is 5'3") and the LOWEST recommended weight for Jillian's height is 107lbs. I genuinely believe Rachel's competitive nature took over and she took it too far. IF the biggest loser is able to get past this blatantly unhealthy turn by a contestant, I forsee a rule preventing underweight contestants from winning. What a poor way example to set and a sad way to end. SMH0

I tuned in tonight expecting to see the athletic machine that she had been honing all season long, especially with how she was looking during the last week on ranch.
She looked like a stiff wind would blow her away. Hopefully it is just something she did to get the money, but even if it is just that, it doesn't really paint a good picture for weight loss when money incentives are involved.
The trainers (Jillian especially) looked shocked, and not a good kind of shocked.
Bobby was pretty light at 6'3" and 170lbs, but that is passable for a male with merely average lean muscle mass. David definitely looked the healthiest of the bunch.
Tumi knocked it out of the park. I expected her to be the biggest at-home loser, but did not expect her to get all the way to 144!
EDIT: if the show continues forth, I agree with an underweight clause - since they base the show on weight loss, it should probably go by BMI, and winning body weights should have to be no less than at least a 19 BMI (which would have put her at 111 pounds).0 -
Took this pic to show someone else. That one clip they played from the end of the time at the ranch put her at 19% BF. She looked terrible at the finale but she won the cash and hopefully she plans on putting some weight on.0 -
That is anorexia...she went too far...just saying.0
-
Thanks for posting the pic....she looked sick when I saw her walk out...I work with eating disordered teens....very sad representation of healthy weight loss.0
