I see that Snow flower and the Secret fan is on your 'to read' list. It was a good read, you should give it a go :) It's a nice quick read, if you are a fan of Lisa See's other work. I am getting Sole survivor today, sounds like that's where we're headed next! If we decide to read something else, that's ok too :)

I vote for Sole Survivor for our group's purpose, as The Moonlit Mind is a short story. (I am going to read it on my own though) I am a huge fan of Koontz's Odd Thomas series, but have not been able to finish many of his other books, for one reason or another. Sole Survivor looks like a good read. ~Beth

I'm crazy about goodreads as well! Beth Provencher :)

It was an easy, pleasant read. I enjoyed the story, and the message :) I think this is one of her earlier books, and her style has changed. I like her newer stuff better. I'm glad that I read this book! Whats next!!!?

I too have read all of King's books, as well as Joe Hill's, who is also very similar. (King's son) He is in my top 5 favorite Authors of all time, so everything must be read the moment it hit's the store :)

How odd that Amazon wouldn't have it. Another Kate Morton book would be just as good. So far I have not been disappointed. I also love the idea of different genres :)

HAHA! I took a lot longer with it than I usually do! I have read two more since finishing that one! I hope we can choose a new book soon, as I am cruising right through my current book. Incidentally, I would highly reccomend it, The Obituary Writer, by Ann Hood. It was the deal of the week through Audible for $2.95. I'm…

I just did not enjoy this book. Part of the problem for me is that I'm not a noir, hard boiled detective novel fan. The other main problem that I had with this novel, was the dialogue. People just simply do not talk to eachother like that, no one's just going to sit there and let you tell them off for five straight minutes…

Titles I would love to see us tackle as a group: The Bean Trees (Greer Family, #1) by Barbara Kingsolver ( My new favorite author, I just finished the poisonwood bible, and I highly reccomend it!) The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (I just love the way he writes fantasy and people.) The Shifting Fog by Kate…

I am about halfway through, what date are we shooting for to discuss? It's a very meaty novel, and I am struggling to sink my teeth into the voluminous prose. I'm not able to blow through this one like I usually can :)

Sounds good to me :)

I love my husband dearly, we have been together for 20 years, but when he sit next to me to eat ice cream- I want to push him down a flight of stairs.... It's only ice cream, the way he licks the spoon clean after each bite, and rolls the ice cream around in his mouth before swallowing it and then scrapes the bowl…

This is almost exactly like my experience with my 10 year old, get her tested, the more you know the better you can do for your own child. They are not going to push medication on you, it will always be your decision to make. My daughter ended up being diagnosed with ADHD, general anxiety disorder, sensory issues and mild…

I am saving all of my clothes, as I get smaller, to donate all at once when I leave 'plus' sizes. It will be a symbol of my freedom from the dreaded PLUS section, I will NEVER shop in the plus section again!! Every other time I've lost weight, I saved them, without even realizing that I was preparing for failure, by doing…

You bite it, you write it. Don't be afraid of what it looks like, it's not a contest, this is your new way of life. Logging always helps me make the better choice :) You can too!!

My husband wasn't ready for a change when I was either. I didn't push him, because I don't want him to make the decision to change based on what I want. For about a week after I started following my plan, he was "rebelling" and having a good time teasing me with his treats. Soon he realised that he wasn't getting a rise…
