My workouts at home are almost always done barefoot, except the stationary bike, cuz the cover over the chain broke off and I don't want to risk pinching anything in the chain. I even take most of my walks outside barefoot, especially if I am just staying on the jogging trail at my apts.

This ***** from the management team of my apartments really just put a warning in my mailbox threatening a $50 fine because my 3 yr olds bike is out front on my patio. Are you f*ing serious??? I was sitting right in my window, she could clearly see me and my daughter, who was putting on her shoes to go outside and ride it,…

Is there a court order for visitation time included with the child support? If so, and she is keeping him from seeing or talking to his daughter, he can take her to court for violating the order. If there is no visitation order in place, maybe it is time to consider setting one up. It's always best if the parents can just…

I absolutely believe in everything in moderation. If it's something you are craving, you have the calories left to fit it in, go for it! Just make sure it doesn't become a daily thing and that you still have room for all those good fruits and veggies that your body needs. :)

100 squats Level 2 complete! Thanks for the challenge! Wk1/100 L2 Goal for next week: 100 Level 3

I do track calories burned during my weight lifting and strength training exercises. A Heart Rate Monitor is a great tool to have for things like this. If you don't have one already, I highly recommend getting one. There is also a listing under the cardio workout section here for stength training that can help you estimate…

That happens to me often as well (just starting to wean my almost 1 yr old). I would just make sure that you are getting enough iron and calcium while you're breastfeeding (prenatal vitamins are a good supplement still) and try to add in some extra protein packed snacks like nuts or cheese. And plenty of water is…

Which workout did you do on bodybuilding.com? I just started week 2 of the 12 week tone and define program with Jamie Eason and am eager to see anything near the results you just posted. You look great!!!

I reached my original goal weight and was unhappy with the results, so changed it. Then once I had reached the new goal weight, I was still unhappy with my body, but knew it would be unhealthy to lose any more weight. So I have since started focusing more on body composition than actual body weight. I'm currently working…

I managed to stay away from the kids Easter candy. My downfall was the at least 6 deviled eggs, and ham, and baked ziti, and potato salad, and rootbeer float, and icecream sundae, and cupcake. But I did at least attempt to exercise by playing a game of tackle football with the nieces and nephews, and throwing a few games…

I just had this happen yesterday at the playground with my 3 yr old daughter. She asked me right in front of another little 4 yr old girl "Why is her tummy so fat?" I was so shocked at her words and the hurt they could cause that my first reaction was just "Rachel! That's not nice to say!" Thank goodness a nice grandmother…

I didn't know you were a coach! Good for you! And apparently, thanks for not being pushy about it. I knew it was a product you love, but have never felt 'solicited.' OP- there are bad apples in every bunch, but you can't judge the whole based on the actions of a few. Sorry for your bad experience. :(

Just started lifting, and right now "heavy" to me is like anything in the 15 to 30 lb range. But I'm getting there. Glad to see so many strong women out there!

I have gotten multiple talks from family members about my 'obsessive behavior' and 'unhealthy habits.' Where were those family members when I was starving myself and walking 10 miles a day as well as hitting the gym for 2 hrs and playing sports? They didn't seem so concerned then. No matter how hard I try to explain that I…

I have a set of dumbells at home- 3, 5, 10, and 15 lbs. I'm very new to the whole Strength Training thing, but I do try a few lifting moves I've picked up here and there at home and am definately seeing results, especially in my arms and thighs. There are so many different things you can do with dumbells (I even use them…

Where in Jersey? I live in the Deptford/Washington Twp area. My youngest will be a year old next month and I am also breastfeeding, trying to maintain my weight, and hoping to tone my muscles back to prepregnancy shape. I'm sending over a friend request.

I did the same exact thing last week. I binged out while under stress and gained 3 lbs in 2 days! :grumble: But thanks to my totally awesome and supportive MFPals  I picked myself up off the floor and started eating right, drinking plenty of water, and exercising again. As of today I have lost 2.2 of those 3 lbs and…

So many of my friends inspire and motivate me daily, I am grateful to all of them, and they all play different and important roles in my fitness journey. But I have to put in a nomination for toots99 as one of the most awesome mfp'ers. She never fails to bring a smile to my face when needed, to inspire me to push harder…

Definately ask your OBGYN before starting any exercise regimen. But as far as calories go, I would take the number MFP gives you for net calories, make sure you eat as much of them as you can, add in your breastfeeding calories burned (either in your exercise diary or food diary, or even adding it under settings to your…

My diary is public, you are welcome to take a look. I don't know that you will find many good eating examples in there, especially not the last week or so. But I am constantly striving to do better, and open to any suggestions or advice that anyone cares to impart.

I love her kettlebell workout, Shred It with Weights. Even just using 3-10 lb hand weights does wonders! I would love to try some of her other DVD's now as well.

Thanks for the great idea. I love numbers and charts and graphs and all that fun stuff so I am definately going to have some fun with this experiment!

I lost more weight than I had originally intended to and am now trying to maintain or even gain a few pounds of muscle. I know there are some others around here trying to gain or maintain weight. It is important to gain weight the right way though so that it is not all fat. If you follow the settings on MFP for gaining…

I just finished The Dark Tower series a few months ago and couldn't believe he ended it like that! I almost felt as though I had been on a journey of years myself (It took me about a year to finish the whole series, since I had to keep searching for the next book at the used book shop). Then to have it end like that.... I…

Jodi Piccoult's House Rules was a really good book! I loved it, very intriguing. Pretty much anything by Steven King will capture and keep your attention and thrill you to the bone (at least if you are anything like me). One of my favorites that I keep coming back to is Steve Harvey's Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. It…

I am still breastfeeding my 11 month old daughter. You can use this site to determine how many calories you need to consume to lose 1 lb a week, and then add your calories burned nursing to that total. There are some entries in the food database for breastfeeding moms that will add calories back into your daily total. My…

I am still nursing my daughter, who will turn 1 in May. If you pump at all or can estimate the amount of ounces you produce a day there is an entry in the food database labeled "Generic- breastfeeding mother (by oz) rq" that is the most accurate info I have found after consulting with several breastfeeding consultants.…

Thanks. I really needed to laugh this week.
