  • . Everyone used to call my ex "The Big Show" and they started calling me Mrs. Show and our daughter Baby Show. Thanks for bringing back one of the few fond memories I have of that time!
  • I've been told by kids I babysit that I look like Princess Mia from Princess Diaries, but before the makeover :ohwell:
  • I don't even know you, but I love you for this!!
  • I had just started the New Rules of Lifting for Women routine before posting my June 1st pics, so here's hoping there's some positive changes in the July 1st pics.
  • Does it have a lot of iron in it? I used to have that problem with the women's multivitamins with iron. I'm not really sure why, but I do know that it doesn't bother me anymore now that I take the vitamin after drinking a cup of skim milk. Maybe the milk coats my stomach? Sorry if that wasn't really helpful.
  • I don't know if it's common or not, but I have had it happen to me before. But I have always bruised very easily and so just chalked it up to yet another bruise that I can't explain. I would love to know if there is an explanation for this though.
  • 5'5" Today I am 109.4 lbs, but usually around 111. Jeans size 3 to 7, depending on the day and the style of jean.
  • Thank you for bringing this thread back to life. There were many tears shed and much healing experienced last night, and it would be wonderful for it to continue. I was so saddened earlier to realize that some people are afraid of the judgement that could be passed on them for sharing their stories of abuse. Is it not bad…
  • Ok, think I have it fixed.
  • Ok. *deep breath* Here goes.... Eek!
  • I'll be adding mine tonight after I get batteries for my camera. Gained a few lbs over the weekend tho, so I'm a lil nervous about it... :blushing:
  • Yay!!!!! :drinker: I am so happy for you! You have been working so hard and doing so well and deserve to receive compliments like that every day. Keep up the fabulous effort that you've been putting in, forget the darn scale, and I am sure you will continue to see some awesome improvements! :flowerforyou:
  • I think this is a great idea!!! I'm totally in. Don't know how much progress I'll be seeing, but I would love to see an improvement in self-confidence!
  • The black and white one is cute, but the black one definately shows off that fabulous figure that you have worked so hard for. I say go with the black one. And don't worry about black and weddings, I wore black to my wedding reception and I was the bride. As long as you look that good in it, I don't think anyone will care…
  • :blushing: :blushing: make a home movie (yeah, I said it) :blushing: :blushing:
  • Welcome to the MFP community. The support here is awesome, and a large part of the reason why so many here are successful in losing the weight. Best of luck to you!
  • I am currently quitting (down to about 1 cigarette a day, and a few days here and there with no cigarettes at all) and so far haven't seen any weight gains. But I must say, it sucks!!! I'm cranky and miserable and irritable and just plain b*tchy. I was thinking about using the e-cigs to try to keep from using food as a…
  • I just got the NROL for women & have almost finished reading it. I am hoping to start the workouts today.
  • Mine are all much too morbid. Like being locked in a room with other women and children waiting for the release of the dogs and rats that are going to eat us alive.... Pleasant dreams!
  • I'm ambidextrious so constantly switch up which side I use for common tasks just for the fun of it. Some things are more challenging using my right, like sweeping, using scissors and opening bottles, even though I learned to predominately use my right hand to write. It is a good way to keep your body balanced though, and…
  • My 5 Ingredient 15 Minute Cookbook from Cooking Light has been a life-saver countless times! It provides a grocery list, nutritional info, complete meal ideas (sides and veggies to go with the main course), and hardly any of the meals take longer than 20 minutes from the time you start cooking to the time you set it on the…
  • I just set a goal to bench press my weight by my birthday at the end of June. I don't think I could ever do 2x tho. That's like 220-225 for me, and I'm just barely doing 50lbs for 3 sets of 12 reps right now. Good luck reaching your goal tho!
  • This. I think the recommendation for protein intake while building muscle is 1g per pound of body weight. You will likely need to invest in a good protein powder to get that much protein in your diet, but do your research on what will be best for you and watch out for the sugar content in some of them- it can get pretty…
  • Just finished Promise Me by Nancy Brinker, that was pretty good. I also agree, anything by Jodi Piccoult (recently finished House Rules, another good read).
  • I had the same fear of the equipment when I first started trying to figure out weights. But there is usually a little diagram to explain the equipment nearby. Luckily my gym is usually empty so I didn't have to worry about the muscular guys. But my advise is to just jump in there and do it! Who knows, YOU just might…
  • I just got my Kinect and totally have the Biggest Loser game on my wish list! As soon as I get it, I would love to join!
  • A friend of mine told me about bodybuilding.com. Check it out, it's done wonders for me already, and it's only been 3 weeks.
  • Oh yeah, and just a tip that has helped me a ton in reducing the amount of sodium I consume- switch to kosher salt (only 280 mg sodium per 1/4 tsp v. 560 per 1/4 tsp in sea salt) and rinse and drain your canned beans, veggies, etc. Draining alone can reduce the sodium content by 36% and draining and rinsing can reduce it…
  • my fave is unsalted dry roasted peanuts- healthy fats, filling, & no sodium.
