It might be a long shot but I have had bouts with itchy fingers, accompanied with sneezing and sinus congestion while on a keto diet. I found that I am sensitive to histamines in food. It is not so uncommon and often undiagnosed. All foods have some level of histamines but many foods on keto/Paleo food list are high…

Magnesium chloride is known to cause issues. I had issues with magnesium chloride with coconut oil. Switched to magnesium glycinate and the problems stopped. It is also a more bioavailable form. Here is a short article describing pros and cons of different forms of magnesium. There are actually six articles in a series…

Not so sure the sugar, caffeine and psychological addiction of soda is not as bad as cocaine or heroin addiction. There have been a number of recent papers published. I applaud your progress. I have read that glutamine is effective at controlling sugar addiction.

Not so simple if you are addicted. I have an acquaintance who has an extreme addiction to Pepsi. From the time he wakes in the morning until the time he goes to sleep he has a Pepsi in his hand. I asked day how many bottles of Pepsi he drinks a day. He told me 2- six packs. That is just short of 500 grams of high fructose…

FIT-Perhaps the statement that Taubes should have made - Increased plant consumption will not provide protection from obesity or diabetes when large quantities of simple carbohydrates are consumed. To ignore the fact that simple carbohydrates consumption skyrocketed over the forty year period is a bit disingenuous. He is…

Ridiculous! We may have eaten more fruits and vegetables over the last forty years, but we dramatically increased our consumption of simple carbohydrates in the form of sugary drinks, cookies, corn chips, etc. in the same time period. The elephant in the room. I agree that fruits have been hybridized for sugar content to…

It does appear that consuming as much sugar as possible is the game plan. It is added to all processed foods. I have seen estimates that the average American consumes 150-170 pounds of sugar per year. That is around 200 gm of sugar daily. Considering the consumption in the 1770's the annual consumption was around a pound…

Just like the French! The traditional "laissez-faire" approach to nutritional recommendations. You can do this...or wait...this...or maybe this...oh, I know this...or you could do this...

Epsom salts are very inexpensive if you have a Costco membership or know someone with a membership. 2x6 lb pouches are $7.99, that is 66 cents per pound.
