  • Definitely use a food scale. Cheap and reliable ones can be found on Amazon and I'll bet you're surprised by what actual serving sizes look like when weighed out!
  • I am happy to have more people added to keep me accountable! I lost 60 lbs using MFP/calorie-counting in 2015 but gained it back. Trying to catch back up and then beat my old record! I'm 32 and 5'8". I've lost 39 lbs so far, about 71 to go for my long-term goal.
  • I have a Misfit Shine and ended up unsyncing it from MFP. I felt like it was giving me too much credit for calorie burn. So now I just log what exercise I know I've done (or let MapMyRun do it via syncing with MFP) and use my Misfit just to keep a check on my overall activity level for the day and sleep tracking.
  • I've never had any kind of trouble with ellipticals either, they're wonderful. Unfortunately, a treadmill is all I have access to at the moment. Although finding out the cause of such dramatic pain is my priority over the ability to use the treadmill, to be honest.
  • That sounds promising! I didn't know the term "buff" so I'll definitely look into them. Thanks!
  • I do my best to keep my mouth closed (which often isn't easy-- I'm a beginner so I'm still huffing and puffing!) but even then they still hit me in the lips/mouth and it makes me crazy. Luckily I have glasses to they stay out of my eyes at least. Being a big baby about bugs definitely makes things worse for me, I'm sure.…
