People who know nothing about 5:2 and the benefits of intermittent fasting will always hate on you when you so much as mention 'fasting'. It's not where you don't eat for long periods of time, and you don't feel ill or (god forbid) go into 'starvation mode' *shudders*. Expect narrow minded people to put it down, embrace…

You must watch the Horizon Documentary on 5:2 fasting by Dr Michael Moseley. Not only is weight loss an outcome of properly fasting, but there are many other great things like improvements in blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Do your research before asking opinions of people who know nothing about it. You can eat so…

Hello all! Just checking in, it's nearly 3:15pm here and I'm thinking of food, but not craving. I never eat anything on fast days until around 6pm. I haven't weighed - same reason as Emma - I'm scared too because I ate everything in sight over Christmas! Fast days are a lot easier this time around, so I know I can stick to…

I could have written your post. I too am a binge eater, although I don't make myself sick. I eat emotionally, anything that affects my emotions can make me eat until I feel ill. I have controlled it better this past year though. I too have a 9 year old daughter, I really try and shield her from my weight issues as I know…

I've started. For years I've struggled with my weight, because of binge eating. It's taken a lot of time to get myself emotionally to this place, where I think I can overcome the binges. Binge eating for me started with depression, and I have emotionally eaten ever since. To help me avoid binge eating, I have cut down on…

It's Jillian Michaels, You can find level 1 on Youtube I believe. I have the DVD from Amazon which was a really good price. She is excellent and very motivating! Feel free to add me those who are taking part!! I need someone to kick my *kitten* when it comes to Exercise!!! :drinker:

Hello! I have started this morning, and could do with a buddy to check in with? I am at a stall with my weight loss, probably because I don't do much exercise (naughty I know, no excuses!) I have taken my weight and 'before' pics and I'm not going to weigh again until the 10 days is up. Feel free to add me :flowerforyou:

This is me all over. I am exactly the same. I complain that I am unhappy and that I have no clothes that fit me properly but I will not buy clothes until I lose the weight - I have about 7 great weeks and have lost 10 lbs, then I slack and once I start - there's no stopping me. I don't have a hobby - I go to work all day,…

I'm 5"3 and currently 159lbs - my Goal is 130. I think I might be a bit more confident when I get to 140. Who knows :)

I'm using Lent as an excuse to make changes for my well being - I don't mean to offend anyone by 'using' Lent - it just seems like great motivation for me :-) So I am 'giving up' added and processed Sugar, and following a food plan from Sugar busters. I like the fact it includes Sweet potatoes - as I love my potatoes!! I…

I saw this in the daily mail this morning too. I am just so confused :-(

I'm 5"3 and as of this morning weigh 157lbs. The fat really shows, I carry it mostly around my middle. My first goal is 140, however ideally I'd like to be around 135/140.

Ah ok - that makes sense, thank you! I will re-adjust

You calculate your TDEE to include your workouts. So if you plan to do 3 workouts a week, you chose the value that includes that THEN subtract the 20%. Then you don't need to worry about tracking your calories burned during exercise and eating them back
Thank you for clearing that up, I should…

Thank you for all the helpful comments. I have just ordered New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women. I will see whether I can find the Mark Lauren one. I found a short exercise regime on Youtube that he has done before, it's only a 15 minute workout with three 5 minute workouts, but it was really good. I'll look into getting…

Thank you both for your help! I'm really excited to get into lifting. I'm going to join those groups now, thank you :flowerforyou:

Sounds good to me! Started on 4th November at 155.8lbs, as of this morning 154.25lbs so down 1.5lbs. I'm drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, I am hoping this will stop me losing just water weight? If anyone can clarify that'll be great. I am doing no bread, no potatoes, no pasta, no rice, no starchy vegs or fruit…

Feel free to add me, I'm aiming to lose 14.5lbs by December 4th - that;s 6 weeks today - so average of 2.4lbs a week. I'll be happy if I get down to 145lbs, but I'm aiming higher to ensure I stay in the game!!

My wedding photos were disgusting. My back flapped over the top of my dress, and I looked awful. Over a year on, and I can't bring myself to watch our wedding video. After my wedding, I put on another 10lbs, and it was all upper half body. This affected my self esteem and I stopped looking after myself. It got to the point…

Thanks hun :flowerforyou: I'm glad for MFP - I don't know what I'd do without the support here! :smooched:

I'm still in! My motivation has really gone downhill the last two weeks. I was trying to lose weight to fit into a bridesmaid dress, now that the wedding has gone and the dress fit perfectly, my motivation has gone out the window. I have a holiday coming up and I want to look nice. I started the 30 day shred, missed one…

Tuna, chicken and eggs (although not all together!) are my favorite sources of protein.

I'm on Day 2 level 2 (Already done level 1) - It's a killer but I feel great in the day for having done it! My inspiration is my holiday on 29th of September where I want to lose at least 5lbs and tighten up a bit (if possible in a month lol) Feel free to add me, there is a Group I'll get the link...…
