I think for me, my concentration levels during the day get shot if I don't eat, I get distracted easily. But, I have sometimes had an oxo drink in the evening if I had enough calories left. I stop doing this now as I understand it's better to have two meals than three.

My other half and I always joke that if we have a bit of the others food, that it's a zero calorie bite. So just eat your friends food.

On reading through previous posts, I've noticed that a lot of people pick Lunch and Dinner to be their meals. Personally, I pick breakfast and lunch to be mine, as I can't concentrate at work if I haven't had breakfast, and after lunch I just resign myself to that being my last meal of the day, and avoid the kitchen at…

Hey guys, I'm new to the group, but it's such a relief to see an actual active group! I've been on 5:2 for the past month. 2lb from hitting my 1 stone loss (which will be 3 stone since I first started my healthy lifestyle). Saying that.. I've been that same alb away for the past 2 weeks. *sigh* It's the weekends that do…

Hey! This is what my normal fasting day looks like: Breakfast: Porridge 50g of porridge oats 100ml of coconut milk 50g of unsweetened apple sauce 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon Lunch: Usually half a pot of soup from the local supermarket. My workplace covers my lunch allowance, so it's easy. I make sure to go for the good soups…

When I read the title, the first thing that came to mind wasn't something said to me after losing weight, but something said to me before. A lovely slim friend of mine, of asian origin, very beautiful, turned to me, held my chin in her hand and said "You'd look so beautiful if you lost some weight" then wondered over to…

I'm just going to jump in here and say that some people hate veggies. *raises hand tentatively*. Especially the green ones. *shakes fist at the green ones* So it is sometimes necessary to find a way of getting them into your body without making yourself hate your meal. As such, I shove a load of spinach into my protein…

I do the same, I do what I call the "Where am I lightest?" dance around my bathroom. It has always been the same way, with different scales. I have solid flooring, but even the smallest ridge can unbalance your scales. So hop around until you find the one that makes you feel least terrible. I always hope that the…

A fitbit will not help calculate the calories burnt during yoga. The movement is too smooth, and counts a yoga movement as a step, which it is not. In my opinion, the fitbit is just a glorified pedometer. I had one, and returned it after a few weeks because my phone did a better job than the Fitbit did. Since then, I've…

You're in the right place Jennifer, welcome!

Sometimes it feels that even thinking about naughty food makes me put on weight... I know how you feel. But keep with it xx

I'm curious to know how you're measuring your heart-rate, as that seems extremely high. I blacked out when my heart rate hit 190 once. If you're using the elliptical machine, it's probably wrong. All the gym machines at my gym are wrong when calculating heart rate. I use a chest strap HRM and base my calorie burn stats on…

You're already motivated, that's why you're here. :) You can do it.

Take that feeling and use it to fuel your workout. I am one of less than a handful of women who hit the weights area of the gym, and seeing the look on their face when they see me picking up the larger of the dumbells is brilliant to me, they're surprised.
-
I love your 1lb remark! That's brilliant! May have to use that in the future. I feel guilty about mine. But I was/am so used to being the biggest person in the room, that when I do see someone bigger, my thought power is "That's what you're fighting not to be".
-
I look back and wonder what the hell I did with that time. But it must have been just sat on the sofa, watching movies or online. I can't imagine myself doing that now.
-
Hi! Have you tried measuring yourself? It's worth seeing if there is something going on that isn't showing on the scales, like firming up, losing mass, but the muscle counteracting the weight. Reading half way through your post I thought "Ah, same thing has happened to me over the past 3 months, due to not eating enough"…

Youtube is also great for watching how other people use gym equipment correctly. I sometimes see people using gym equipment at the gym in totally the wrong way and it makes me grimace at the damage they could cause.

I'd advice first following a low impact fitness video. I use Youtube, which can be a great free resource for such things. If you search for Fitness Blender Low Impact, you'll find the ones I use :)

Myself and my partner are in the same position. We do our own food shopping and cook our own meals, and it's perfect. It means I don't feel guilty for cooking something that wouldn't fill him up, and he doesn't feel guilty for cooking something high carb or high cal. It's great, because there are some thing he doesn't like…

I'm unbalanced due to muscular problems in my right foot, giving me a limp. if I didn't hold on I'd walk diagonally and then most likely go flying off the back.

If you search for Fitness Blender Low Impact Cardio on youtube, you'll find the video I use for my home workout.

Hi Snowflake; Sometimes I do an hour and a half, sorry, should have been more precise. :)

Hi Saboteur! Thanks for your input. Before From April 2013 - Christmas, I could probably count my cheat days on one hand. Christmas I had 3 or 4, due to visiting family. It's very difficult to tell ones mother that you want half what they've put on your plate, without making them think you don't like their food, haha.…

Hi Candice, Try high-incline walking on the treadmill. It's amazing :) The treadmill automatically changes the angle you're walking.. the more intense, the higher you go. I choose the fat-burn setting, which changes the incline quite quickly. It's really good for my legs, as it's helping to build up the damaged muscles in…

Hi eldamiano. Thank you for your suggestion. The 1230 was actually set by MFP automatically, however, I have kist manually gone in and changed it to 1400, to see how things go. I sometimes do a home workout which burns around 250 calories, so I'm going to try this more often, and I'll probably try to hit the gym a bit more…

It seems so weird to eat more, haha! But that sounds like it's the next step I need to take, in order to kick this. I'm going to try and up it to 1400, this was what I originally started on, and see how things go. Thank you for your help, having advice from people who are in the know is vital to the journey.
