Thanks! It just seemed crazy. I know I had IV but thought I had matched output to input. My stomach is distended still.

Congrats! You are one day post-surgery - hope things are going well. Today I am one day pre-surgery and will join your ranks soon!
-
You should be finishing up your three weeks of liquid now and into puree. How is it going?

How are things going now? Update?

You did it for the most important person! You're weight loss looks good on you!!
-
Yes, it does. You don't have to tear someone else down in order to lift yourself up. We are all allowed to get to the top together.
-
Thanks, @StevenGarrigus , I'm learning to adopt that attitude. The people who have reached out to me in support is what has helped me feel not alone and to not take small-minded opinions to heart. I think I'll never leave this group!

@JessieKat2552 how are you doing after surgery? And isn’t it hard to hear someone say those things? I think many overweight people are so from some sort of emotional struggle. Don’t they know that is exactly the sort of thing that can frail us? I wish you only the best with your weight loss. You deserve it!
-
@ruqayyahsmum wow. I am so sorry you had to deal with that and probably continue to do so. I’m learning so much more that surgery and committing to the new lifestyle go hand in hand. I mean I knew it but it just keeps driving that nail home for me. Thank you!
-
Wow @clcmfp Great insight “Surgery didn’t make losing easier, it just gave me a fighting chance to keep the weight off.” That’s good for me to keep in mind. It’s a marathon not a sprint like they say.

@Bekah7482 I also don't plan on telling work. It's not a huge secret, I'm not going to share is all. I expect some prejudice in that situation, but generally they are pretty good at accepting people. I'm still being cautious. @ccruz985 Stick to it and you'll get them back off! Good luck.

I feel you @loveshoe ! The responding posts contain opinions that getting WLS is not changing your lifestyle, or we aren't "using discipline and self denial." The more I learn, the more I know how untrue those statements are. That is all it takes for any us of to lose weight whether with or without surgery! It makes wonder…
-
Thank you, @Samquentin! It is so important to be reminded of the failures and why. And they also are great examples on why this is still huge ongoing daily work! I'm definitely going to need some of your resilience during this process! I can do all of those changes on what I eat, but its living without my beer that's my…
-
@Samquentin I think if people understood more about the WLS, they wouldn't feel so jealous but understand that it was a hard decision to get there. I know the sacrifices I'm going to have to make and I'm scared about getting my lap band and if I'll be successful. It's OK she didn't want to accept the friend request - I'm…
-
Thanks @pattycakes726 . It seems this attitude stems more from a jealousy factor, but if they knew the WLS process like you say, they would not be so jealous! It seems like very hard work to me so far and I haven't even been approved for surgery yet!

@jcavanna2 I had primarily kept it to myself with the exception of a few friends I've made on this group. I tried to make a new friend but instead ended up being the lady in her blog she wouldn't friend because that lady (me) is taking the easy way out with a lap band. While my name isn't used directly, it's now open for…

@Ultima_Morpha I'm so happy for your success! And you are absolutely right! I came to the group for true insight. I'm too old to be naive, but I came with an open heart. I think I will be limiting where I find inspiration. Thank you for reminding me!
-
@StevenGarrigus "As far as the surgery being the "easy way" I call complete bullsh!t on that." I feel this way too. Because you own a car should you walk or bike to work because a car is the easy way? I mean it's not very environmentally friendly what are you thinking?! I'm making a joke, but you get my point. The lap band…

Wishing you the best today!!

@Fit4LifeAR : My surgeon hasn't asked me to lose any weight - yet!! But I am only looking at the lapband, so maybe that's why. Stay strong with pre-op diet. I'm dreading it myself, but am inspired by seeing everyone go through it and make it!!
-
Thank you all for sharing! Steven, I find you inspirational as always! Mmary and sskulltulaa, I am over 60% BMI and I’ve not been asked to lose weight. So I wouldn’t let that stop you from looking into it. But I’m doing the lap band but also had the option of the sleeve. Only the balloon was definitely out because I…

Brenda/SW 384. I’ve tried for the last 10 years to lose the weight but I’ve never kept it off. I am now preparing to get the Lap Band as I need another tool to help with my portion control. I’ve been exercising for 6 months and I’ve lost 15 pounds but every thing hurts. With some forced diet changes I’m expecting to drop…

Yes, I find when I tried to eat "healthy" according to all the diets, it gave me kidney stones and I've been battling them since. It can be diet controlled if you have them tested and know what they are made of - mine are Calcuim Oxalate so No Kale, Spinach, chocolate, potatoes, beans, beets, nuts, etc. But you are…

You guys still holding strong?
