I think it's a great idea! Just saying. Many people are intimidated by gyms because of the amount of skinny people that consume them. They think they have to be skinny just to go there, or they would be judged because they aren't skinny like them, therefor they end up never going. If there was a gym with only "overweight"…

I focus on low carb and low calorie, here are some things I eat: most meat-lean or not cheese peanut butter (only some brands are low-carb, be sure to check) low carb bread and pasta salads with ranch or Italian, a lot of dressings have a lot of carbs so be cautious most veggies except peas and corn (my fave of course!)…

No, once it actually helped me by resetting my metabolism. I was only losing about 1 - 1.5 #s a week when I usually lose 2-3 and for a couple of days my boyfriend and I didn't diet and the next week I lost 3.5 #s. If it doesn't happen all the time, it won't affect all the progress you've made. I say go for it! It's his big…

Thank you everyone. I know I need to do this for me. I guess I need to find a goal to work toward to, but it's just hard to do right when your significant other isn't as motivated as you and that is the person you are around the most.

Yes, make sure you are getting net calories of at least 1200. Not only will your body burn muscle under 1200 cals but it will also go into starvation mode holding onto fat instead of burning it. Net cals: Total amount of cals - Cals burned during exercise = net cals

Not at all! The only thing that gets me is when someone who doesn't have kids try and tell me how to parent my child, that's when it gets disrespectful. As for not wanting children of your own, it's your life, you have the right to do with it what you please.

That's an awesome accomplishment so far. I think a congrats is in order even if you are only halfway through, just getting there isn't an easy task. I love mfp and will use it long after I hit my goal weight. Welcome to the community!

I weigh once a week, and I will always log right after I weight. I like to see the weigh loss meter go down. It makes me happy :)
