I try and remember that skinny people take a day off once in awhile and then work extra hard to make up for it after. That's why they are skinny. So I am going to look at this as a test to see if I can enjoy life for a day while making reasonably good choices without binging.

His friday fasting was good for my saturday weigh in, lol.

For me it is the good stuff that is starting to taste better. I ooh and ahh over things I wouldnt bother with when I was overeating. Today I wouldnt waste the calories on a bacon cheeseburger w/ fries and a soda when I can have pasta sauteed in olive oil with asparagus and fresh parmesean, some french bread and a half a…

Ditto. Counting calories is never to go out of style.

My husband fasts on Good Friday. Shouldnt that be done last Friday? I mean this week is supposed to be a celebration, right? Last week was "bad friday".

I use the meal planner here as a recipe builder. Estimate the amounts and run it through then you will have it for the next time.

I always keep a can of salmon handy for those fish nights. Check out recipezaar if you have not already. They have great recipes with member submitted photos and you can save recipes and create cookbooks.

I found 3 never worn pretty 42D's in my drawer that I bought on my way "up" that I cant wai to it into. 16 lbs gone and I am still a 46DD. Honeslty I probably outgrew my old bras a long time ago so who knows what I really started at.

Start watchimg the cooking shows and get some good ideas for things you can practice making a lower fat version of. This week I made a pot of chicken vegatable soup and added barley instead of noodles and it was awesome. Add the barley to each bowl, not the whole pot.

Log your dinner before you go. Then make your fast food/lunch choices based on what you have left. Or take the day off and just make wise choices. Depends on how fast you want to fit into that dress.

Can I join? I added sodium to my food diary this week and WOW was that a wake up call. My new goal in addition to losing a pound a week-watch my sodium. (Am I the only one that didnt make the cut?:noway: )

It's a visual. A half a pound may not seem like much of a loss but when related to 2 sticks of butter, it is considerable. 100 pounds of butter and 100 pounds of body fat look quite similar actually. http://run4change.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/100-lbs-of-fat.jpg http://www.healthcentral.com/fitorfat/408/43667.html

That's funny I saw the 1986 and thought wow we even graduated near the same time then i realized it was your birth year. lol.

Thanks pink! Our stats are similar. It's nicer to see the 190's on the way down than it was on the way up, isnt it?
-
The site only allows for 5 categories. Which one would you suggest is best to replace?
-
I have the exact opposite problem. I am not a sweets eater and am always over on my protein and low on carbs.
-
You wont do it, will get discouraged and a year from now will weigh the same or more as you do now. Or you could shoot for a pound a week and a year from now be 52 pounds lighter.
-
I dropped carbs to add sodium. I think I need that one least of all. I need to see calcium and fat and protein. My sodium today is 850 over. I really need that on there to track. Yikes.
-
Are you a sweet person or a salty person? I'm a salty person so my snacks tend to lean towards crackers and cottage or cream cheese. Or pickles or hummus. I have to keep an eye on my sodium as you can see. I always make sure one of my snacks is a piece of fruit.

A pound a week, that's all I ask.
-
11 pounds is 44 sticks of butter. That's alot. If you can average almost a pound a week and still get cheat days, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me! That will average about 46 lbs by the end of the year.
-
Just by eyeballing your intake it looks like you may have room for more food.
-
What did you eliminate in order to be able to track sodium? I have protein, carbs, fiber, fat and calcium. I just noticed that my fiber was low today so I logged my 2 fiber tabs. 20 calories!! I will start logging vitamins after this discovery.

Are you using this site to calculate your daily caloric intake?

You will have more success in the future maintaining your losses if you practice eating more but healthier now. That's what makes it fun and bearable. I had a breakfast egg and cheese tortilla for breakfast, an orange, a big bowl of homemade vegatable chicken soup for lunch and I am having steak, ceasar salad, wild rice a…
