Hi! I'm re-starting (again). No kids yet, just got married a few months ago. Let's cheer each other on!

I only log a portion of my exercise calories (currently 1/3, I had success on 2/3, but need a kick start) because I'd rather underestimate my calorie burn JIC I over estimate my food intake (I don't measure/weigh my food). Depending on your activity settings and additional activity, you should eat back some of those…

This is in the maintenance forum right? One day of overeating won't ruin you, just like one day of healthy eating won't ruin you. Drink extra water today and move on. I don't know your body frame, but as PPs pointed out, you could be classified as underweight. Just worry about staying at maintenance calories (not too far…

Sometimes a side-effect of ADHD medication is lack of appetite or inability to gain weight. Couple that with lower intake/ increased expenditure - you SHOULD be losing. As PPs said - only so much will come from "water weight" Just keep a healthy diet, make sure you're getting enough protein, healthy fat, veggies and water.

Feel free to add me! I'm active and will give advice/ideas :)

5'4" SW: 191 (came on MFP at 189) in March CW : ~176 GW: 145 or so I have a "bigger" build and looked very proportional at 150/ size 8. I just want to get back there. I don't think I could sustain 130 lbs - I love food too much :)

24 from US! I'm active in my logging and commenting :) feel free to add me!

Just like one salad won't make you skinny, one binge day won't make you gain. It's the overall trend. If you're regularly at a defect on equilibrium, you'll lose or maintain. If you're regularly over that equilibrium mark, you'll gain.

So, Say you're supposed to NET 1200 calories Then say you work out and your REAL calorie burn is 300 1200 in -300out = 900. You're NET is only 900. You need to feed yourself those other 300 calories to get to 1200 I personally only log 70% of the calories I get on my Heart Rate Monitor so that I can ensure I'm not over…

The fatigue and brain fog from hunger is one thing to be wary about. While one meal a day may be sustainable, fatigue and brain fog isn't sustainable. Some people can work on one meal per day while others cannot. I certainly am one of those who can't! Try it, but be careful about over-exerting yourself during your "trial"…

This all really depends. Are the calories tracked by you or the treadmill? Machines tend to overestimate calories burned, so look into getting a heart rate monitor. I love my Polar FT4 ($100). Weight loss starts in the kitchen, so as long as you are eating and netting at a deficit calorie count, you will lose weight. If…

Well, how quickly do you want to lose weight? I still enjoy a few beers/glasses of wine/week. I log it all. I am not in a rush to lose weight, and it isn't falling off, but that's ok. I want to enjoy life and make a lifestyle change, not be a teetotaler for the sake of slimming down fast. Just like everything else,…

For dining out friends and family, can you plan to plan ahead? Like if you get a call "hey! Join us for dinner tonight!" Can you respond with "Essh, I can't go tonight, but let's do Thursday night at Italian Restaurant! It's on my calendar now!" This will allow you some time to do some research and menu/exercise…

If I walk/run for an hour (avg. pace 4.5 mph) I burn close to 650 calories according to my HRM at 5'4" and 179 lbs. I'd say it's pretty accurate for how many calories you burned during the total of that period. BUT, because some of those are "Existence" calories, I'd say log half that amount. FWIW I only log 70% of my…

Have you done your TDEE? What activity level are your "base calories" tied to? If you are "very active" and eat back all of your logged exercise, there in could be your problem - you're double counting those walking calories during the day.

Starvation mode ISN'T a myth, but it IS over-used and is usually unlikely. You will go into starvation mode if you have far too much of a deficit, but that usually takes an extreme defect for a prolonged period of time (as in netting 50% of necessary BMR calories for many days in a row). If I have a super high burn day on…

do you have a good chunk of free time on the weekends? Try making your own freezer meals, or meal components - cook chicken/other meat and freeze in individual portions. Same thing with rice, chili, etc.
-
I think a pertinent piece of information is missing - What level of resistance do you have on the elliptical?
-
Yep 89 days and about 7 lbs. I'd rather NOT be starving, be neurotic, be annoyed, or be miserable because I'm being too hard on myself. The weight will come off in due time, and in the MEAN TIME, I can save money for my new wardrobe :)

I got the Skyla IUD last summer and I LOVE it. It's actually smaller than traditional IUDs and is geared towards younger women who haven't had kids yet. I never have to think about it. I'm in a monogamous relationship and it just makes ahem, everything so much more relaxing (no worrying if I didn't take my pill, etc). It…

What do you mean, "falling off"? You got rid of your water weight - great! Now, getting rid of fat takes a bit more work. You say you need to lose 100 lbs - use MFP or another calculator to figure out the amount of calories you should be eating to lose 1.5-2 lbs/week. You didn't get to your current weight by one week of…

I agree with pp - it all comes down to portion control. If your husband needs 500 more calories per day, he can have an extra snack in the morning and afternoon. When it comes to your kids, it's all about portion control for them also . Take a meal - seasoned and baked chicken with rice, green beans, and a side salad. You…

I agree with PPs in regard to nut butters, nuts, etc. Some fat isn't bad - don't worry too about the fat content if the food is nutritionally dense. Just keep your portions reasonable. Here are some articles on nutrient dense foods: http://www.sunwarrior.com/news/15-nutrient-dense-foods-to-eat-more-often/…

Walking as a defined exercise is legitimate - browsing the mall for an hour? Maybe? I personally wouldn't count it as "exercise," but if it's substantially more than you've been doing, go for it! Any activity is better than no activity, and if your browsing the mall can turn into a brisk lap AROUND the mall, I say even…

You're right, I kind of am - mostly because of other things you have said in this thread - I'm carrying over my bias.

Actually, any of them do list the servings per container, for containers that will likely be consumed in one sitting (soda, smaller bag of chips). Honestly, I do only eat one or two slices of pizza. And, FFS, 1/3 of a candy bar isn't listed (ETA: regluar size, not king) . In the VAST majority of them, the entire bar is…

Because, you know, it IS all about you... Is it annoying? Yes. Should it be required? F No! HOW often are you going out to eat that this is affecting your total progress? And, I'm pretty sure that you can tell what is and isn't good for you....
-
I'm 5"4 and currently 182.2. Ideally I'd like to be between 130-145 and/or wear an 8 most of the time.
-
I only have 35 to lose, but I'll still be your friend! I like to be active on MFP and help others !

I don't have a planned cheat day - but I usually go over on Sundays because I don't go to the gym on Sundays AND there's usually a family dinner. I try to go to the gym 5 days/week and I try to be on point or under my calories at LEAST 5-6 days/week. If I'm over 1-2 days by fewer than like 2-300 calories, on those days, I…
